Stage Manager autohides too fast, won't let me switch between stages when a window is expanded

When Stage Manager is activated, it provides 3D previews of the spaces or stages on the left hand side that are always visible and take space but if you expand the current window over those spaces, they autohide and show up as 2D on top of the window if you move your pointer to the left edge of the screen so you can switch between them. My issue is that they hide immediately when I move the mouse even a little bit to the right but the correct behaviour would be to stay visible up until I move the pointer further away from the location so I can actually click them if I want.
Here is a short clip demonstrating how it behaves: https://streamable.com/bv354m
Here is a another one demonstrating how it is supposed to be: https://streamable.com/u51461
Over the years I might have fine tuned some settings through the
defaults
command in the terminal however deleting everything related from the ~/Library/Preferences
folder did not help to resolve the issue.
As I said, the Stage Manager works as expected a new user account and use it from there, which makes me to conclude that it's not a Beta related bug.
Any idea how to fix that?
PS: The OS is macOS 13.0 Ventura Beta 6 build 22A5331f

OK, so I'm the sort of Mac user who is a little ridiculous and enjoys mixing and matching between systems and setups on the regular. I'm always changing my screen resolution to whatever is right in the moment. I switch Stage Manager off and on as the situation benefits. I may have a few screws loose.
So I love setting an app (or set of apps/windows) aside in Stage Manager's shelf, but that's the *most* useful for a select few "stages" I'm actively switching between (on a given desktop space). Sometimes there are just apps I'm not using right away and would like to keep stationary, minimized into the Dock. Plus, Dock-minimized windows are accessible no matter what desktop space or Stage Manager set I'm in, without occupying a chunk of the actual screen area like the "Assign To: All Desktops" Dock option does.
The trouble is, normal Dock minimizing *appears* to be disabled while Stage Manager is enabled. The yellow button (which still has a horizontal line looking like the Dock...) puts the window into a "minimized" state in the Stage Manager shelf if you've got multiple windows in the current set, or just slides away to reveal the desktop if it's the only thing currently visible. The "Minimize" option in the menu bar (or ⌘M) does the same thing.
Despite that, Dock minimizing doesn't just stop existing entirely in Stage Manager! If I have a window minimized into the Dock *before* I enable Stage Manager, it *stays there* until I click it again.
It's so close to perfect! Yet, not quite... because once I click it, it's back to normal Stage Manager behavior. The window shows up in its own new set, and no matter what I try, I can't seem to get it back into the Dock. The window's minimize button slides it into the shelf, and that seems to be that.
So I'm wondering: **Are there any alternate methods for minimizing a window into the Dock, which still work while Stage Manager is active, instead of just stacking the window in Stage Manager's shelf?**

I want to organize my open windows into Stage Manager groups based on my tasks. So, for instance, in one group I might have a browser window and a dev tools window, in a second group I might have a browser and two terminals, and in a third group I might just have a browser.
I need a keyboard shortcut to cycle between _only_ the windows in the visible stage manager group. So, that might be two browser windows and a terminal. I _never_ want this shortcut to pull up another browser window in a separate group, or to skip any visible window. Surely there must be some way to do this?

I've looked around tools like BetterSnapTool, and I'm about to try an AppleScript attached to particular events.
Does anybody know how I could achieve this? I'm open to solutions involving configuration, 3rd party apps, AppleScript or Swift.

However, when I try this the external display always duplicates the iPad screen.
I am running iOS 16, and I have tried both televisions and monitors as external displays.
Why is the external display duplicating the iPad screen?

Is it possible to create a keyboard shortcut to switch between Stage Manager window groups?
Using Stage Manager, you can switch between windows in a single window group using ⌘ Command ` . However there seems to be no way using the keyboard to switch from one window group to the next. I would love to be able to do this. I like and use Stage Manager, but I think it's a little undercooked.

I am trying to write **an automation** using either Bash or AppleScript, **to enable / disable Stage Manager**, and this looks quite difficult to achieve.
I cannot find much documentation around since in macOS Ventura the System Preferences have become System Settings, and there are not tabs anymore, so I ask whether anyone is able to achieve the task.
It looks like I have found a possible answer here . However I have difficulties in pointing at the right Switch. Here is my script which does not work. It looks like I am having the groups messed up...
do shell script "open x-apple.systempreferences:com.apple.Desktop-Settings.extension"
tell application "System Events"
tell its application process "System Settings"
repeat until UI element 4 of group 1 of scroll area 1 of group 1 of ¬
group 2 of splitter group 1 of group 1 of window "Desktop & Dock" exists
delay 0.1
end repeat
click checkbox "Stage Manager" of group 6 of scroll area 1 of group 1 of group 2 of splitter group 1 of group 1 of window "Desktop & Dock"
end tell
end tell

Separate stage manager controls per display?
I am using a dual monitor setup. I wonder if there's a way to turn on stage manager for one display and turn it off for the other? I believe there's no official way to do it, but I am very much open to installing a plugin or other non-conventional solutions.
