I am sure that the previous vi

I'm trying to generate a wordlist in order to use it to bruteforce my own Truecrypt container. I do know parts of the password, its built up using blocks of other known passwords to increase length, but I forgot in which order the blocks were used and if some blocks weren't used at all.
Example "blocks" separated with space:
dog cat bird xyz cow1 lion8
What I would like to do is create a wordlist containing each possible combination of these blocks. E.g
dog
cat
dogcat
catdog
bird
dogbird
catbird
birdcat
birddog
dogcatbird
catdogbird
xyz
dogcatbirdxyz
cow1
xyzcow1dogcat
xyzcow1dogcatbird
catdogbirdxyzcow8
lion8
catdogbirdxyzcow1lion8
lion8catdogbirdxyzcow1
dogcatbirdxyzcow1lion8
cow1birddogcatxyzlion8
cow1lion8birddogcatxyz
...
So far I've tried to utilize a tool called crunch: http://www.irongeek.com/i.php?page=backtrack-r1-man-pages/crunch
But the challenge seems to be how one should generate combinations of shorter combinations, not including all known blocks, example: dogcat
only includes 2 blocks.
Perhaps someone know crunch
better than me, or if I should use another tool or combination of tools?

I am using Backtrack 5. As it is based on Ubuntu 10.04 I decided to ask my question to here:
I'm having problems selecting text with my mouse. For example when I try to rename a folder, sometimes I can successfully highlight the text but when I release the mouse button, it is no longer highlighted. Sometimes I can't even successfully highlight the part of the text that I want. It highlights more or less of the text then actually selected.
First I thought it was a problem caused by my mouse, however, I tried another mouse and the problem continues. This problem really bothers me while surfing on the net. Could you please help me?

I have installed backtrack 5r3 in one hard disk partition alongside with windows7 in another partition in Acer Aspire V3-571 laptop having "Broadcom Corporation NetLink BCM57785 Gigabit Ether" integrated wireless card.
My problem is I could not make WiFi working in my laptop even after trying a lot of command and methods found by googling. I downloaded tg3 driver from broadcom website and hopefully installed it but all in vain.
In some forum I found that some guys having the same issue with Broadcom 43XXX seriers wireless card had fixed their issue by using some sta driver package by broadcom specific for 43XXX series, but I noticed I have 57XXX series wireless card not the same.
I could not find any working solution for BCM57785 wireless card.
Here's what I did......

I purchased USB Wireless adapter which runs smoothly on **Windows** and **Ubuntu**, but in BackTrack it's showing me a **Bad password** issue. From my reading I guess it's driver issue which BackTrack Kernel don't have drivers for RTL8191SU (my) Adapter.
The Realtek site have drivers for kernels
2.6-2.9
. Even thought BackTrack 5R3 comes with 3.2.6
, I tried to compile drivers which failed for me with **make** errors.
Additionally I can't get monitor mode in aircrack suite.

I would like to start off by saying that I am aware that there are many similar questions, however none have an answer that has solved my problem. Anyways, here's the problem: I have an HP Compaq 8200 Elite SFF running Windows 7 x64 with an inbuilt Intel processor - which has its own graphics - and I have a separate nVIDIA graphics card. I am trying to install BackTrack5 r3 via a live USB. However, when I boot into the BackTrack live USB and attempt to open the default text option, commands are executed for a few seconds before I get the following error:
fb: conflicting fb hw usage nouveau vs VESA VGA - removing generic driver
After this, the BackTrack live USB/installation is frozen. I cannot do anything, and to proceed I have to force-shutdown my computer and turn it back on. I have tried everything that I have seen on the internet, but to no avail. I have tried, along with their results:
- Passing i915.modeset=1/i915.modeset=0 - I get "Attached SCSI removable media", after which I can type, however what I enter has no effect
- Passing nomodeset - Has no effect
- Disabling KMS/passing nouveau.modeset=0 - Has no effect
- Uninstalling nouveau driver/blacklisting nouveau driver/startx - Can't get to that point
- Anything else that involves Terminal or commands - Again, can't get to that point
- Reinstalling nVIDIA drivers from their website - Installs the same as any other nVIDIA driver with no additional options, makes no difference
- Formatting the live USB and installing it again (with different builds) - Makes no difference
- Disabling Intel graphics through BIOS - BIOS is password-protected with a password I don't know (planning to reset BIOS/CMOS password through motherboard soon)
- Using a non-deprecated/still-supported OS similar to BackTrack - I don't want an OS like BackTrack, I want BackTrack itself and nothing else
I have no other Linux operating system installed on my computer. I am otherwise fully prepared for a dual-boot. Below are my system specs:
Motherboard: HP 611834-001
CPU: Intel i5-2400 @ 3.1 GHz
RAM: 8GB
GPU: GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB
I would hate to have to remove/disable my external graphics card for BackTrack to work, so any solutions that don't require that would be thoroughly appreciated. If I could remove this driver that's causing problems in Windows, even if it means disabling inbuilt Intel graphics, that would be optimal. I apologize for the wall of text, and thank you in advance for your help.

reports "command not found". I've tried various commands such as "login" and "sh", but no luck. sudo
is out of the question, too.
I suspect that I need to mount the system squashfs somehow, but I can't figure out how I'm supposed to do it. I haven't had much experience with SFS's before.

One hard disk (sda), two partitions, with a working Ubuntu running.
1) /boot
2) LVM with this virtual volumes/partions/ or whatever they are called inside:
1. Swap
2. Ubuntu
3. Home
4. Prepared for Backtrack
Of course I would like to share home and swap. I have seen tutorials, but they look outdated and complicated and they are for setting up everything just with backtrack. It seems you have to do some things manually after backtrack install to get it running with LUKS. I like to know what it is exactly that backtrack don't do automatically and how to install backtrack in my prepared partition. I want to tell backtrack NOT to install a boot-loader (I think it's possible) and setup the grub from Ubuntu to be able to boot backtrack.

I have a computer with Linux BackTrack 5 as host and Windows XP as guest on virtual box. I am using Host-Only-Adapter to create virtual LAN and to share USB modem internet as well so that both host and guest are simultaneously connected to internet via single USB modem.
Since my WAN IP address dynamically changes, I am using a host-name from no-ip.com to identify my dynamic WAN IP address. With this settings I am able to get meterpreter session using
windows/meterpreter/reverse_tcp_dns
payload (and port 80) every time I execute payload.exe
from Windows XP guest. However, when I execute payload.exe
from other Windows XP computer that is on a real LAN, outside my computer, I never get meterpreter sessions. What makes me confused is that the connection is established from netstat
on target computer. In this state, if I leave target computer and back to Linux server and scan it with nmap to check port 80 then it said that the port is closed (even though session was not created).
Thus:
1) Why weren't the meterpreter sessions created on Linux server while target machine (temporarily) said that connection was established and port 80 on Linux computer is closed as well? (I said temporarily because after several minutes if I check again the netstat on target computer the connection is disappear but port 80 on Linux is still closed.)
2) If server on real-LAN was block the port then why netstat on target computer said that connection was established? if ISP block the port then why I can do it from virtual box?
3) Is it port-forwarding issue? but I doubt since I only use USB dongle and I can do it on virtual box without port-forwarding.
4) Is my 3G USB broadband connection speed not fast enaugh? has anybody success using Metasploit with USB modem?

I've been dual booting Win7 and Ubuntu for about 4 months and I got on it today to change the default boot on grub, because my girlfriend kept getting locked out when it reboots and, by default, goes to the Ubuntu partition.
I tried using the command promt. I used [the command found here](http://launchintolinux.wordpress.com/2013/03/09/how-to-change-the-default-os-in-an-ubuntu-dual-boot-setup/) which was
sudo gedit /etc/default/grub
That didn't appear to do anything so I changed the grub using the file manager and changed "Default grub=4" which, is the boot I was supposed to use...
This led to my Windows 7 partition dissapearing from the boot list, somehow, although all files are still showing up on the OS (checked through Ubuntu) and System Recovery shows my latest restore, attempted to restore and said it should be working..
So I'm assuming its hidden in some way?
I'm using BT5R3.
