When I turned on the MacBook, the fans were running at full power, but MagSafe was burning red. Then I turned off the MacBook, turned off the charging and plugged it back in, but the charging indicator was no longer on MagSafe. The battery is not charging. What do I do in this situation?

Today’s post on MacRumors.com says: > Apple has not released any MagSafe cases for the iPhone 16e, but third-party cases are already starting to roll out. Is that really true? Are there any cases available that give an iPhone 16 SE MagSafe-like behavior in allowing a magnetic charger to snap into position? Or does “MagSafe case” merely mean it is compatible with the phone’s intrinsic magnetic field (which is lacking on all the SE iPhones)? ---------- I ask because I tried a couple of MagSafe cases for the iPhone SE third-generation that claimed to be MagSafe, but they had virtually no magnetism, if any at all.

Why did all my old MacBooks simultaneously lost capability to charge battery? Or are the power supplies dead?
I have four different old MacBooks, from 2008 to 2010. - 2008 MacBook - 2009 MacBook - 2009 MacBook Air - 2010 MacBook I have five chargers, all MagSafe 1. - 1x 45W - 3x 60W - 1x 85W All except the 45W are replacement ones, so the 45W is original. Now suddenly on the same moment two MacBooks (2008 and 2009 Air) lost their capability to charge. I unplugged the MacBook 2008 from charger for a two hour work and then went to plug it back in as it reached 10% as I have always done for last two years and it started charging (orange/green light), and when I placed the laptop down the table green light went off. I had swapped battery to it year ago and it was 100% healthy. So I did normal: - Replug couple times. - Clean the connectors with toothbrush and made sure those are clean. Nothing. So I took a MacBook Air from another room and plug it in the same charger and it was charging (it has as well replaced battery year ago). I re-plug the MacBook 2008 to same charger and nothing. Then I plugged charger back to MacBook Air and it was charging. And then couple seconds later charger light went off. I re-plug it, nothing. I connected it to MacBook 2008 and nothing. So did the charger die? I went to plug the MacBook Air to its own 45W charger and it was not charging. Rechecked the connectors for foreign objects and all were perfectly clean. I picked third MacBook (2010) and plugged it in to 45W charger, and it was charging. I plugged MacBook Air to it, not charging. I took the MacBook 2008 to 45W charger and it was not charging. But MacBook 2010 was charging. I went to plug MacBook Air to third (60W) charger and it was not charging. I connected the MacBook 2010 to it 3rd charger and it was charging. I brought from different location the MacBook 2009 and tried, it was charging on all chargers, same way as MacBook 2010 does. But the MacBook 2008 and MacBook Air does not charge on any charger. And now as I was writing this, the MacBook Air jumped alive as I left it on the charger for 2 hours just to try out. It had battery left 23% since last charging (been a week sleeping). It was not charging and I just heard suddenly the power-on tone as MacBook Air turned on (it always has turned on every time when it is plugged to charger, even when display is closed) I have tried SMC and PRAM reseting on the MacBook 2008 and MacBook Air and neither one reacted any means to it. I thought that the battery would have died suddenly on the same minute by charger outputting a peak power and shortcutting, but as now MacBook Air is charging for some reason (after trying so dozen times and kept long time before) I don't think it has battery problem as it only stopped charging but not running on battery. I am now very confused that what makes old Intel Core 2 Duo MacBooks to stop charging suddenly for no reason (or even to suddenly just revive after couple hours being connected)? Is there any other means to check does the charger input power than just opening the laptops again and start measuring? As the charger connectors has the small chip that will initiate the protocol for accepting charge, is there something to do overcome it? I already purchased two replacement Magsafe 1 cables to check if that would help in case, but as all chargers work on two other MacBooks, than on two.

I recently bought a brand-new, genuine Magsafe 60W charger for my mid-2010 MBP (my previous charger died suddenly after months of extreme fraying). Within a few hours of using it, strange and bad things started to happen. First, the battery intermittently stopped charging despite an amber light. Then the light started dimming and flickering, and the connector started heating up a lot. Finally, it started completely failing to charge, with no light. However, I then discovered that if I *very carefully* hold the cord in certain positions and apply tiny amounts of force in various directions, it charges *completely fine*. I thought this might be a Magsafe port problem, so I replaced the Magsafe port, but the problem persists. I also tried resetting SMC many times to no avail. What could be the problem here? Is it more likely to be a charger problem or a logic board problem? One thing I did notice is that the pins don't quite seem to line up exactly with the connections in the port: they're offset sideways by 0.3mm or thereabouts. It's a long shot, but it might explain why the charger only works when pulled in a certain direction. Is this a known issue?

How to fix frayed Magsafe 3 cable?
My Apple MagSafe 3 to USB-C cable frayed at the USB-C end, and doesn't charge. Should I just electrical tape it or get a new cable off Amazon? This is a school charger, and I don't wan to pay the ~$100 to get it replaced for a small fray.

Optimized Battery Charging issue for 2023 MacBook Pro, Apple M2 Max chip
My MacBook Pro currently runs on macOS 13.6.2. I purchased the machine new about 9-10 months ago. It came with "Optimized Battery Charging" enabled (by default) - a feature I was glad to see added. And so my questions is this: Why has "Optimized Battery Charging" stopped working?

After looking at both connectors, it appears the MagSafe 2 connector would fit the MagSafe power port if it were filed down on the edges a bit. I'm concerned the power delivery would not match what the computer can handle, and I don't really want to go through returning and buying a new power adapter. Likewise, I wouldn't want to destroy both the adapter and the computer at one go. Does anyone know the specs – whether these two are "electrically compatible?"

It is extremely hot only when not fully charged when fully charged it is normal. What could I do? I guess it is not exactly harmless for the machine. I even bought a "high performance 120W" cable, that shows me the wattage and it always shows just a couple of watts at best.

It's from UAE apple store and a friend got me the adapter sealed to Egypt so I can't go to apple store right away and replace it unless the friend take it again to UAE. Sorry for being paranoid, I had terrible stories with repair shops in Egypt which ruined and burnt my previous adapter. P.S. why not buying from Egypt? No apple stores and it costs 3x its price. I added the Other picture because someone told me on other forum it's scratched not brand new while it was only a residue from the plastic wrap! So it's the same but with flash and the leak is barely visible. Thank you enter image description here enter image description here
