I have an old Galaxy Tab 8.9 (GT-P7300) tablet with Android 4.0.4 (Samsung original firmware update, not rooted). It mostly sits in the drawer and sees very infrequent use. Today I booted it up and everything related to Google account on it is locked up (including Play Market), giving following error: > Google > > 404. That's an error. > > The requested URL /o/oauth/GetOAuthToken was not found on this server. That's all we know. If I click on Google logo I get dumped to the regular Google web search page, where I can login fine but which doesn't resolve the issue. Had Google just abandoned older Android versions or something?

Spotify's installation page forwards me to the Play Store, but the app is not available for my Galaxy Tab 8.9 in the store. Is there any another way install the app? (It's a European Galaxy Tab with data service, but the app is not blocked based on region since I can install it on my phone without issues.)

Recently, I have decided to install a custom ROM on Galaxy Tab 8.9 (Wi-Fi) and messed up everything. I downloaded some "ICS 4.0.3 or something" .zip file to my root folder. Stupidly didn't install any ROM manager (Play market couldn't download any app in my tablet). Tried to download .apk file, and when failed, I fed up with everything: turned off the tablet, then turned it on with VOLUME UP and POWER buttons pressed. Then in the stock recovery pressed "apply update from sd card" and chose the .zip file... ...the Samsung Galaxy Tab icon was showing up on the screen the whole night. I was thinking that it's being updated and went to sleep. But I was wrong. The next day it was turned off and when I put the charger in, some stupid big charger symbol came up. I can't turn on the device and pressing VOLUME UP and POWER buttons brings me to the recovery menu, where I've tried anything (wipe user data/factory reset, reboot) with no success. However, when the tablet is in the recovery menu, my PC sees the device through adb when i run "adb devices". I can even push some file to "/data/local/tmp" with "adb push" command. Now I want to know: can I still somehow install some ROM or at least factory reset to my tablet? "I want to hide under some rock for a couple days until someone helps me"

I am using a Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9. I would like to mirror the screen on my TV but I could not find TV-out in the Settings. How can I do this?

I'm looking to buy a small tablet to use as a "table phone" for use with a headset, and for video telephony. GSM telephony is a must - I don't want to rely entirely on Skype, or Internet connectivity in general. (Plus I'm eligible for a landline number on my mobile contract so people can call me from normal phones for free, which is great.) I am hovering between the 7" P1000 Samsung Galaxy Tab and the more expensive, newer 8.9" one. The 7" one officially supports GSM telephony. Various tests remarked that it's a bit too chunky for use as a normal mobile phone but for my use case on the desk, that doesn't matter. I really just want something I can carry around in a bag, and put on my desk to make calls with. The 8.9" one supports GSM telephony, but doesn't come with it activated out of the box. You need third party Android products in order to use it. This strikes me as odd, and makes me expect problems - why else would one build in the functionality, but not ship with it enabled? Telephony is the one thing I really, really need to just *work* - I can't afford to deal with dropping connections, bad voice quality, patches, and an overall "beta" experience. Is telephony feasible on an 8.9" Samsung Galaxy Tab?
