I placed a password on my phone from the online android device manager. I was just testing it out, and now I can't remove it. I keep reading go to settings > security > screen lock but that is not an option on my phone. I can remove android device manager from my device administrators, and under the password section the only option is to make passwords visible. I have always had a password on my phone but I do not want this type of password on my phone. Please help!

Where is the backup folder of TextSecure and Signal?
In TextSecure, you can choose to backup your SMS to the SDCard. It says "Success" but there is no evidence where it does store it on the SDCard. I cannot find it.

How can I tweak the (build.prop?) settings to make Play Store perform the install? I guess I have to make the Play Store believe my tablet is a phone. I know that TextSecure may not work after the install, but I do want to try.

Can't receive WhisperPush Messages on CM11

My Phone runs CyanogenMod 11. I registered in [WhisperPush](https://github.com/CyanogenMod/android_external_whispersystems_WhisperPush) via the Settingsentry and got the verification code. I do have a Google Account, the phone is new and I haven't installed any apps yet. Now I wanted to text with my contact (he's using [TextSecure](http://www.appbrain.com/app/org.thoughtcrime.securesms)) via WhisperPush/TextSecure. When he sends me a message using TextSecure, it's shown to him that it's sent encrypted, but I won't receive any message at all. On the other hand, when I send a message, it's send as a normal text without any encryption at all. I tried to enter the verification code somewhere, but can't find anything, permissions should be also fine, at least I allow WhisperPush everything. How can I get WhisperPush to work? Hint: WhisperPush is [integrated with CyanogenMod](http://www.cyanogenmod.org/blog/whisperpush-secure-messaging-integration) , so *Google Cloud Messaging* shouldn't be involved. Update: I tried it with another contact, who uses TextSecure as well. While I still won't get any encrypted message and the messages I send are still plain text, after unregistering and re-registering from WhisperPush I noticed that I've the public key of my contact in my list, he had mine as well. So it seems there was a key-exchange, but somehow the messaging app(?) doesn't know it can communicate with this contact using WhisperPush/TextSecure. Update II: I just installed the TextSecure (now Signal) app from the Google Play Store. Works flawless.

I've noticed (by using XPrivacy) that many applications (and some that has nothing to do with location, such as TextSecure) require the following permissions: Location: srv_listen Phone: srv_listen (These permissions seem to be linked) I failed to find any info on what are these permissions used for, neither what functionality may be harmed by blocking them. I'd be glad if anyone here with some android programming knowledge can spill any light on it... What are they used for? What info may be accessed by granting those permissions? Is it actually providing any location info? Thanks!

Today I got an automated text from my wireless provider saying I'd gone over my text limit. This is odd because I send maybe 50 texts a month. When I logged into their customer site I found over 3000 photo texts had been sent in the last two days! Some background: ever since the Kit Kat upgrade I'd had trouble with the stock messaging app so I test drove a couple of SMS apps before deciding on TextSecure. I've had it for the last few weeks and it seemed to be working fine. However after finding out about this problem I uninstalled that and went back to the stock app. So the questions are: is there some way I can tell which app sent the rogue texts? The wireless provider's site lets me know the number that it sent to (a bogus number @icmms1.sun5.lightsurf.net) but not which app actually did the sending. I'm wondering if Android logs that somewhere. Also, is there a way to block *outgoing* texts?
