Is there a market or catalog dedicated to apps (open source or not) that are free and don't contain ads? I find them hard to search for on the standard markets. Please note: I'm not looking for a way to block ads in apps, or some other way to circumvent ads that the app developer wants to show. I'm looking for free apps that don't have ads by design.

According to the G-Droid app description on the F-Droid website , "the F-Droid client is not [actively maintained] any more". I could not find evidence that this is true. Is the Android F-Droid client still actively maintained?

Is there a free location-aware todo list out there? I need something, that: reminds me to buy milk, when I'm near to my favourite shop.

Is there a way to see some stats about the top apps in the Android Market across all categories? The Google Play Store gives me some top paid and free apps per category. How do I get the overall stats?
