Adding tasks to Microsoft To Do using voice only - goes to Keep instead

I recently moved from Google Tasks to Microsoft ToDo and it's very good, which should not be a surprise considering it's Wunderlist [underneath](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wunderlist) .
Using Android Auto in the car, I want to be able to add to my *Microsoft To Do* Tasks list using voice only. [Microsoft Support says](https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/office/using-ok-google-with-microsoft-to-do-94d3c3f0-9f4c-4e8d-a57d-439cd69e1f61) to use voice commands with *Microsoft To Do* on Android, tap the microphone icon in the Google search bar, say "Ok Google, add a note...", and select *Microsoft To Do* as your default app.
That does not work for me though when I just say "Ok Google, add a note...", without taping first, a note gets added to Google Keep. I can't see anywhere to change the default so it's added to the *Tasks* list in *Microsoft To Do*.
Has anyone been able to get it working?

I want to have my todo.txt file synchronized on PC and Android via a cloud service **in both ways** and **instantly on change.** Let's call this **true instant sync.** Unfortunately, I have not found a good solution yet and I don't understand why.
**My setting:** Markor to edit todo.txt on Android, todo-txt script to edit todo.txt on my Linux PC, official Dropbox client on both Android and PC.
In order to get true instant sync, I tried **FolderSync** and **Autosync for Dropbox.** However, I think that neither of these apps does what I want flawlessly and their precise function is not really documented. For example, Autosync for Dropbox has the options "autosync", "instant upload", "clever detection of changes" (available in the pro version) and one can also set synchronization in given time intervals, all independently of each other. What do these options do precisely? FolderSync seems to support synchronization in time intervals only, which is not what I want.
I imagine that a true instant sync solution should work as follows:
1. There is an interrupt whenever something is written in the shared folder .
2. The interrupt is associated to the sync client, which sends the information about changed files to the sync server immediately.
3. The sync client pings the sync server whenever its network address changes.
4. When another sync client uploads something to the sync server, the sync server broadcasts the information about changed files to all sync clients.
5. There is an interrupt whenever a packet from the sync server is received.
6. The interrupt is associated to the sync client which updates the local files immediately.
**Questions:**
1. How do 1--6 differ from the reality and what are the problems? Aren't the interrupts 1 and 5 already implemented on the system level?
2. Can I configure Autosync for Dropbox or FolderSync (+ Tasker) so that I get true instant sync which was defined above?
3. Do you know any other solution for true instant sync?
Thanks!

**Note:** This question is specifically about Google Docs on Android, not Google spreadsheet on Android.
Instructions from this [page](https://www.controlaltachieve.com/2016/06/docs-checklists.html?m=1) shows how to insert a checklist using the Android app or Google Docs. I was able to follow those instructions on the Google Docs Android app, however, I need to then quickly and easily check off each item. The instructions on that webpage are given for a desktop web interface, because it refers to clicking the right mouse button and selecting an operation, but how do I do that within the Google Docs Android app? Is this impossible?
I currently believe the answer is "no", but I hope someone will prove me wrong about that.

How do I share something to a list?
I frequently make lists of things, e.g. in Google Notes. I'm looking for a way to share anything (with a share button) to become a new item on a list. The app doesn't matter, as long as it lets me in turn share the whole list. Is this possible?

Ideally there should be a way to add items to lists generically in Google Now. Is there such a workflow?
I am aware Grocery IQ app has Voice entry, but then the workflow is tedious: Hold a button, say OK google, say Open Grocery IQ, then tap a mic, then Say tomatoes.

I only use the map application while driving and therefore would like only for this application to be used while driving. Can I define a whitelist instead of manually going through on my apps and essentially creating a blacklist of which apps can be used. This gets particularly annoying when I install new applications also. Can this be done with root maybe? I have Nexus 5 rooted running Lineage OS 7.1. [Found this](https://www.reddit.com/r/AndroidQuestions/comments/33jml8/how_do_i_whitelist_mobile_data_usage/) couldn't get the 1st app to work and the 2nd app wasn't truly a whitelist.

I'm using an MI phone (Redmi Note 4G), it runs on MIUI v7. This is a problem that a lot of people have been facing for a really long time now: Push notifications for reminder apps (Say Wunderlist, Google Keep, Any.Do etc.) don't work. Mostly they don't work at all, sometimes they are delayed for random number of minutes / hours for absolutely no reason.
How do I get MIUI to allow these notifications?
Here is what I've tried:
1. I've tried "locking" the apps into the apps tray (So that when I clear the RAM, that particular app isn't cleared )
Result: Doesn't work.
2. I've given **all** permissions to the concerned apps. Even those permissions that were obviously not required for the app to do it's basic task: Remind me of my to-dos.
Doesn't work.
3. I've made sure that I've enabled **all**notifications in both the MIUI settings and in the settings of the app
Doesn't work.
There is only thing that **does** work: Not force closing the app (by pressing the back button for a few seconds). Even if I do so, the reminders only work fine for a few minutes: say for half-an-hour or an hour. Reminders that come up later than that don't work.
Here is an ongoing discussion on the same topic: http://en.miui.com/thread-19270-1-1.html (miui forum)

I was using [CheckMark Pro](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.greenbeansoft.Checkmark) , but it is really WAY overkill for what I want.
My biggest criteria is that I want to be able to set a task to repeat, some interval **from the date it is completed**. Most of them let you repeat every 6 months or 2 weeks or whatever, from the due date. But take this example:
Task with due date of 5/30.
Task set to repeat every 6 months from completion.
I *complete* the task, marking it done, on 5/13.
The next occurrence should now repeat 6 months from 5/13 (the completion date), not from 5/30 (the original due date).
And of course whatever reminder is set (2 weeks for example) should be relative to the new due date, 5/13 in the example above.
Most of the one's I've looked at either are not cloud-synced. And I've not found any others than CheckMark Pro that allow the next occurrence to repeat based on COMPLETION date rather than DUE date.

Is it possible to have repeating tasks using the stock calender program?
---
Sometimes I have a task I want to show up each day for a month or something, but I don't want to have to stick with a photocopy machine and handwriting a task list when I have a Galaxy Note 3, running android 4.4.2 kitkat. I don't want to have to root and use questionable programs, just stock android. However, I don't mind, but would really rather avoid, doing something on a computer such as a Perl script and then syncing with wifi or or pushing through usb. I would think that the calendar program would have this feature, but I can't find it anywhere.
The event-type in the calender program can handle repeating events, but not task-type. Events just fill up blocks of time, I want the ability to check off a task, so events wont work.

What I would like is some kind of reminder system that has the ability to
store a phone number and then I can just press a button to call them.
Often this number won't be in my contacts as I won't expect to deal with them more than once.
Ideally there would be away to do this will Google Now.

The Calendar application works with Google Calendar and its agenda style is really useful. Nevertheless, for some reason, it does not work with Google Tasks, so I use GTasks that works with the Google Tasks. I use both of them really intensively, but none of them can show both calendar events and todo items. Sometimes it's very inconvenient because I have to switch between widgets and merge the overall timeline in my mind.
So is there any widget to show calendar events and TODO items at once? Agenda style would be a real plus.
Thanks in advance.

- Minimalist (same featureset as Google Tasks, plus widget maybe)
- A new task can be added very quickly, without having tens of inputs to enter deadline/assignee or anything that is not available in Google Tasks anyway.
- Available for my poor Android 1.5 phone

People who have used Symbian before, would be familiar with this feature. In Symbian, this is a default feature in the homescreen.

Any suggestions? Wunderlist is very close, but only shows "todays tasks".

I'm looking for a way to send an email to myself as quickly as possible. I am using my inbox as TODO list, and sometimes even send emails to myself to add new items…
The optimal solution would be one where after a single touch on homescreen and typing a line of text (like: “Buy Milk”), some app or service would automatically send an email to my address with subject equal to what I typed. I wish to avoid choosing destination address, being forced to type something into the body and so on.
I'm currently using Evernote for that, occasionally moving items to my INBOX manually. But even then it's 5 or 6 touches + several seconds needed to load Evernote on my a bit dated Milestone 1.
Thanks for any ideas.

Does anyone know any effort on Android which can sync contacts, sms or even notes/todos to my own server? I saw similar function on Samsung GS3 "Add account" settings page but not sure how it works.
All advice are appreciated. Preferably open source projects. Thanks!
