I cannot find any user interface for Google Sheets on a Samsung Galaxy Tablet. There are plenty of options for changing fonts, colors, etc. but formatting DATA (date formats, currency formats, etc.) does not appear to be supported. I have searched the web, but all the hits I get ignore the Galaxy Tab input and present how to do it on a computer. Or else, if my search doesn't emphasize "DATA formatting", I get help with changing fonts.

I would like to have some value from a cell in a google spreadsheets that is displayed on my android phone, a little bit like a KPI that I can track. So I thought that there must be a way to add this as a widget. Only thing I found that seemed to be working was "Meta Widget" but the app is not on the play store anymore (ref: https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/160505/show-a-piece-of-a-google-spreadsheet-document-on-andriod-main-screen) . Any ideas on how to achieve this currently? Thanks!

I have been using the Google Sheets app a lot on my Android phone, and I have discovered that if I don't force the app to store the spreadsheet to the server, it sometimes loses updates. This is the sequence I currently use to force the app to save to the server: - Clicks the check mark at the end of the "*fx*" input box. - Click the check mark at top left. - Click the "<" mark at top left. - Click on the spreadsheet again, and scroll back to the desired position. That's a lot of steps for something that happens automatically after just a few seconds in the browser version, and pretty annoying (though not as annoying as losing data). So, the question: How can I more expeditiously force the Google Sheets app to update to the server?

In Android Google Sheets, "enter key" (->|) won't move to cell below. How to fix?

I don't know when or how I changed the behavior of the "enter key" (->|) in Google Sheets for Android. It used to enter the text I was typing (if any) into the current cell and then move to the cell below the current cell. This is what I want. But for no apparent reason, "enter" now adds a line feed to the end of the text being typed and does NOT go to the next cell below. Wrap Text is NOT selected and never has been. How do I make touching the "enter" key move to the cell below the current cell and NOT merely add a line feed to the text being typed into the current cell? *** EDITED *** FWIW, I just noticed that touching "enter" twice puts a line feed at the end of the text being entered and THEN moves to the cell below the current cell, a bit surprising--why not add a second line feed? After all, if we're allowed to enter entire paragraphs into a cell, why not a generally-accepted properly-formatted second paragraph (blank line between the two)? Surely the vast majority of users would prefer to have "enter" move to the next cell below the current line (or simply staying in the current cell) than adding a linefeed for possible (but rare) additional lines. I don't get it. Why is there not an option to specify "enter" key behavior, as in Excel? (Or is there one and that's what I can't find?)

I have a Google Sheet with many cells that contain a lot of text. Those cells have their formatting set to "wrap" and they display as expected in the Web Application (Chromium-based Whale Browser). In other words, the row height automatically increases in order to allow the cell's contents to be fully displayed. When displaying the same Sheet in the Android App, the cell height is no longer enough to fit the cell's content, and some of the content is hidden. The screenshots below illustrate what I mean. The example cell is selected in each. This cell is representative of others in the same sheet. The problem also occurs on my Galaxy Tab. Is there something I can do to ensure the formatting remains the same in the Android app? **Web App: Cell Contents Fully Displayed** *(Whale Browser, Win10)*

However, I do not have a decimal option, so I switch back to text keyboard, and we start over *on every cell*... or I could switch back and forth *just to get the decimal*, which is also insane. On a tablet, in the white (extra options) the last one is the decimal point, but on the phone, it isn't there. I'm using Samsung Galaxy S3 and there is no decimal point on numeric keyboard. I'm just starting to use mobile documents using google sheets but am struggling with date formats. I am in the UK so use dd/mm/yyyy in excel, but when files are saved to drive and opened in sheets on android, the dates are displayed in mm/dd format. I can reformat how they're displayed in sheets, but the underlying data (including new entries) is still in mm/dd. I've read about changing locale but it seems this is only able to be done on the desktop. If I open the files this way I get a sheets version of the file alongside the XLSX version, which I want to retain because it contains macros and some users have only just mastered windows...
