Can I use an USB Ethernet adapter to connect Sony Ericsson Xperia Active to a wired Ethernet LAN?

Due to my profession I have to connect to wired-only LAN-attached devices (like managed switches, routers set-top-boxes, etc.) frequently to access their configuration interfaces via Telnet/SSH/HTTP. I am totally tired of carrying a bag with a laptop with me wherever I go. Now I am planning to buy an Android smartphone and feel like I'd like it to be Sony Ericsson Xperia Active which is pretty tough (I need it very much as my phones fall from my hands/table/pocket hundreds times a year), reasonably robust and stylish. It would simplify my life significantly if I could connect it to wired Ethernet networks. Is this possible? I don't mind using a hack or a custom firmware like Cyanogen Mod. I've already got a USB NIC based on ASIX AX88772 chip (which is detected by Ubuntu out of the box and, AFAIK, is also compatible with XBox, PS3 and Apple Macs).

How do I disable the stock Gallery app?

For this reason, I don't need/want the stock Gallery app to still be open-able. Is there a way to hide it from the list of applications from the grid of icons? I want QuickPic to catch all tasks that Gallery does and at the same time I want to prevent others (namely, friends who borrow my phone from time to time) from opening the Gallery app. Note: My phone (Xperia Active) is not rooted and I believe rooting it will void my 1 year warranty with Sony.

An app that can give a clear overview of what exactly is eating up my phone space?

> **Possible Duplicate:** > [What can I do to manage my phone's internal storage?](https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/2065/what-can-i-do-to-manage-my-phones-internal-storage) I'm curious to know how my 2GB memory card could fill up so quickly as well as my internal phone memory. I already cleared up all SMS, taken pictures, taken videos that I can find. But it only changed to mere megabytes of space. I have the Xperia Active and I'm using the Sony Bridge for Mac. From there, it only says that the rest of the space is being occupied by "Others". No specific definition about what those might be. On Windows, I use an app like http://windirstat.info/ to give myself an easily understandable overview of what's taking up the biggest space, etc. It would be appreciated if there's something like that for the Android or even just a simpler solution. I just want to look at more detailed statistics as opposed to the one the Sony Bridge is giving me (see below). Image

> **Possible Duplicate:** > [Does constant charging harm my Android cellphone?](https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/1020/does-constant-charging-harm-my-android-cellphone) I am using my Xperia Active for application development. Given that scenario, I obviously have the phone connected to the laptop most of the time since I want to be able to easily test my app on the device. The thing that's worrying me is that when I go to **Settings > About phone > Status**, the **Battery level** is set to 100% and the **Battery status** is set to Charging (USB). Am I overcharging my phone? Is this bad for the battery's health? If yes, what do I do about it? I use this phone on a daily basis and I don't want the battery's performance to be affected by my development cycle.
