So I open the Whatsapp app, go to the last chat thread with my mother and tap the top-right icon with the phone. Sometimes, though, the call is performed using my U.S. Verizon number rather than my WhatsApp account and therefore Verizon has already charged me a few times for international calls!! How can I make sure to perform the call using Whatsapp rather than the normal phone?

When dialing a phone number in the Phone app I can also select which line I'd like to use for this call. But when I click on a phone number link, e.g. on a website, I don't see any possibility to switch to another line, so the default line will be used. Is there any way to switch the line when I click on a phone number link?

**EDIT: I'd also be interested in a solution involving third-party apps or utilities.** I do business with the ACME Corporation and routinely get calls from different departments/extensions within the company (on my private iPhone with the latest iOS 18). Most of these numbers are **not in my contacts** (it's a very large operation), but they all share the **same prefix/root**:
555-1234-[extension 1]
555-1234-[extension 2]
...
It would be extremely helpful to have my iPhone (via the Contacts or Phone app) tell me that an incoming call comes from ACME. The implementation I have in mind that would involve creating **a rule or filter for numbers starting with 555-1234**, which would then **show some specific text** on the caller screen. Is this at all possible, and if so, how? Target real-life scenario: On any given day, I might be expecting a call from (1) someone at my company, (2) a second company, (3) the city council, (4) my library, ... and it would be great to be able to tell at a glance whether this is the important call I've been expecting, or some other random number.

How can I force my iPhone to default to using my earbuds for audio when someone calls me?
Whenever I receive a call on my iPhone (15 Pro Max, iOS 18.4.1), and my earbuds (made by Tozo, if it matters) are connected, the call defaults to normal speaker audio, instead of using my earbuds. How do I make my phone use my earbuds when connected instead?

Screenshot of issue I’m experiencing an issue with call recordings saved in the Notes app on iOS 18.1. Specifically, when I try to share or export a recording, the process takes an unusually long time. For one particular recording that’s about a month old, the loading bar appears, but once it completes, the share/export menu simply disappears, and the file isn’t shared. This issue prevents me from creating a transcript, which is crucial for my work. I’ve tried various methods: - Saving the recording to Files - Sharing the audio directly - Restarting the app and my device Unfortunately, none of these options have worked. Typically, this process is slow but eventually works, so I suspect this is a bug related to older files or larger recordings. Out of desperation, I’m now updating to iOS 18.2, hoping this resolves the issue. However, I wanted to report this bug to see if anyone else has encountered it and to ask if there’s a solution I might have missed. My device is an older iPhone with a Neural Processing Unit (iPhone 13 Pro), so I find it frustrating that Apple's transcription tools aren't available on this device, even though it seems capable of supporting the feature. Any help or advice would be appreciated

Icon of phone with three lines in call log on iPhone
There's an icon next to only one of my contacts. It's a phone over three lines. It's to the left of his name in my recent call log screen. What is it, and why is it only next to this one persons name?

Why iOS duplicates SIP call screen?
I use linphone app to receive SIP calls on my iPhone with iOS 17. When SIP call is received, I get it in linphone app **and** in standard iPhone's app. And sending of DTMF signals work thru standard app only. What is the reason to display the call twice? Is there any way to avoid it?

Basically as the title. The scenario is that on a phone call would like to see how long I have been on it. I am on an IPhone SE (second generation) IOS 15 I think on old iOS it was shown on screen. (Asked when hanging on a support line :))

How does Apple know that I called Apple from an iPhone?
I called Apple from France at 0805 540 003. The robot said: “I see that you are calling from an iPhone. Are you calling about this iPhone?” Indeed, I was calling from an iPhone. How does the robot know that? This is suspect.

Retrieve older call history on iPhone
When I look at the "Recents"-tab on my iPhone, I can see about 100 call entries. But when I delete a call an older call moves up. So, older calls must be stored somewhere. Is there a way to recover the call history without deleting calls?

Meet Bob. Bob’s iPhone stores X (about the last couple of months’ worth of) calls in its recent calls list. The list is full because when Bob makes a new call he squeezes the oldest call off the list. Yet one day he discovers that if he then deletes some call from the list, then the older ones reappear at the bottom. So, they haven’t really been deleted but are simply no longer displayed in the list view. Where are these invisible calls stored, and how can one access them? How many old calls are actually stored in this way? What is known about this mechanism in iOS?

Does dialing 911 in the iOS Phone app trigger the same Emergency SOS features?
When using Emergency SOS on the iPhone, a notification is sent to emergency contacts as defined in the Health application Medical ID feature. When manually dialing 911 in the Phone application, does this same behavior apply? Or does it only work when using the specific Emergency SOS feature?

iPhone calls keep dropping when switching on Mac
Answering phone calls on iPhone 13 (iOS 16) and then switching on Mac, causes call to drop. What happens is that Mac's (Ventura 13.2) FaceTime opens the entire window, not just the small call window, and go fully dark. Answering on Mac and then switching to iPhone works fine, but not the other way.
