I'm based in the US, and have an iPhone 14 with dual eSIMs – one of these is my regular US number, and the other is for “Country A” where I frequently travel and find it useful to maintain a number for. Both of these eSIMs are working correctly. I'm considering upgrading to a new iPhone, and wish to transfer both eSIMs. My understanding is that eSIMs have to be activated in their country of origin (i.e. you cannot enable it for the first time when you are roaming). Certainly, my US eSIM was originally set up in the US, and the overseas one in Country A. Does anyone know if this is required to be the case? (If not, the rest of this question may be moot.) Both networks support the eSIM Quick Transfer feature . Apple says: >With eSIM Quick Transfer, you can transfer your phone number from your previous iPhone to your new iPhone without contacting your network provider. Does this also apply when you are currently roaming? Worst case, if there's an issue with the US one, I can contact them and work with them. Should the international one also work? I don't know whether this is more the equivalent of transferring the existing eSIM (analogously to moving a physical SIM between devices), or whether it's more like setting up a “new” eSIM which might require me to be in Country A.

Group Messages Replying on a Different Thread
There are times that I have a defined group of people in my texts and I don't know if they all have iphones. I text the group and one reply might come back on a different thread, even though the person answered on my first original thread. Why is this happening?

Presumably the user would select 2 of these to be the active e-sims. If 8 e-sims could be stored, then I would assume that 2 of those e-sims can be selected as active and the other 6 were inactive. An accepted answer will be one that provides a direct link the apple.com documentation stating if more than 2 e-sims can be _stored_ on the iPhone SE3 but not activated. What should I expect for an iPhone SE 3?

For a while now, my iPhone has been automatically blocking callers without my knowledge. This has caused me to miss important calls. For example, I was wondering why a local PC repair shop was not returning my calls regarding a laptop I sent in for repair. After further investigation, I found the repair shop's number under Blocked Contacts and several voicemails from them under Deleted Messages. I am 100% certain I did not block that number, especially considering that I was expecting a call from them. While I do have the Silence Unknown Callers option turned on, my understanding is this feature is not supposed to actually block such callers. However, I *have* manually blocked a lot of spam callers in recent years. For the record, I am using an iPhone 13 Pro Max with iOS version 17.5.1 currently installed. I get service from Verizon Wireless. They do offer a service called Verizon Call Filter that automatically blocks spam calls, but that requires a separate app, which I do not have installed. I’m curious if iOS use the Blocked Contacts list to train its spam detection system. Either way, how can I disable this "feature" and allow calls to come in without being blocked?

If I drop my speed down by 15 Mph, I get much clearer voice quality. The phone shows me either max bars for connectivity or 4 bars in either case. This leads me to believe that it is not the Bluetooth, or the quality of the phone itself, but the quality/strength of the signal captured. This is the only reason I am considering switching phones. The iPhone 5 for AT&T has the 4G LTE network. Is voice quality better because the 4GLTE is a faster network? Does the quality of voice issue at high speeds go away for the LTE phones?

I recently started at a new job and now work at home four days a week (I only go in to the office once a week for a company meeting). Because I'm no longer commuting regularly and obviously have wifi in my house, I'm using almost no data on my iPhone 4 anymore. I'm already on the cheaper $15/month data plan with AT&T, but I don't even max that out anymore; as of today, which is halfway through my billing period, I've only used 26 MB out of 200. So what I'm wondering is, is it possible to just get a Tracfone SIM or something and use that for voice, then disable all 3G/data services on my iPhone? I already use almost no voice minutes as it is (I got the iPhone primarily to use data), and I'm now on wifi almost 100% of the time, so I'd lose basically nothing compared to what I have now - it would just be a fraction of the cost. I'm assuming there's some catch here that prevents me from doing this, otherwise probably lots of people would be doing the same, but I figured I'd ask!

I know that several years ago, some iPhones had CDMA and others GSM, and others yet had both, depending on which carrier the phones were meant to work with. But I read somewhere that nowadays, all of them come with extensive network compatibility. AT&T told me that their phones are locked but can be unlocked once fully paid off. So it sounds like there is a software lock but perhaps the hardware is universal. I am looking to buy a T-Mobile phone, get it unlocked, and then switch immediately to using another carrier. Are all iPhones the same now, in terms of communication hardware/software?

I had a temporary number for a day after transferring to a new provider. My correct number has now been transferred to the new SIM. The settings, however, now contains both numbers. enter image description here The second number, with the unavailable message, is the temporary I now want rid of. Going into Edit only allows for removal of the AppleID xxx@me.com. The phone numbers just have an unhelpful ⓘ symbol, with this message enter image description here The number, of course, no longer exists - yet it will likely be recycled in future by the provider, so I don't want the association with this phone to still remain. There are similar questions regarding removing a phone number from iMessage & FaceTime. That part was easy. They have correctly been re-associated with the 'proper' number [basically by switching it all off & on again.]. The temporary number has no association with Apple or iCloud at all. It shows nowhere but in here. Does anyone have a method to delete it? My google-fu is usually pretty good, but all I can find are methods to change the FaceTime & Messages numbers - already done.

- iPhoneXs - iOS 13.4 (also affected 13.3.x) - Carrier: AT&T - e-SIM (no physical SIM) On a recent trip out of the U.S. I added a 2nd SIM card and a local calling plan (Turkcell) so I could use my phone without incurring roaming charges. All was fine. **PROBLEM:** When I returned, I deactivated that plan, and removed the SIM card from the phone. However, the iPhone retained the incorrect phone number formatting on the dialpad screen. See screenshot below for example: dialpad This might seem like a frivolous detail, but it actually slows me down when dialing numbers "manually" since it always looks like I've entered the number incorrectly, skipped a digit or added an extra one, etc. I just want to get it back to the correct format. Once I hit the green Dial button, the number is correctly formatted, so it's just doing this on the pre-dial screen. See below: dialing **Thing's I've tried:** - Soft resetting the phone (Vol+, Vol-, then press+hold Power until it reboots) - Changing Language under Settings > Language & Region e.g. from English U.S. to something else and then back again - Adding / removing additional keyboards - Turning Roaming on/off - Turning Cellular Data on/off - Disabling the cellular line under Settings > Cellular and then re-enabling it - Calling AT&T and having them "re-provision" my phone - Updating from iOS 13.3 to 13.4 **Things I have NOT tried:** - Going to an Apple Store (they're closed here right now due to COVID-19) 😔 - Doing a full Backup / Restore of the phone - The various "Resets" under Settings > Reset (was afraid to lose my stored passwords/WiFi settings but if anyone thinks that would fix it, I will try...) Anyone ever see this or know how to fix it?

A few minutes later the response arrives from Info (e.g. hence the iOS Messages app shows it in a new thread, which is somewhat inconvenient.)
