macOS 11.7. Every time when my connected iPhone enters recovery mode, Finder automatically opens a new window and shows this dialogue. Not sure how possible it is, but I'd like it not to show up automatically, without affecting USB communications with this iPhone.

I have an iPod nano 6th generation that I don't use at all. This is because although being a music player, I usually just use my iPhone for that same purpose. So I was wondering whether it is possible to modify the software so that I could use it for another purpose such as a dedicated watch, a memory stick with a display, a miniature game system, a leveler or something else along the lines.

I attempted to follow this guide for ***Downgrading from iOS 9.3.5 to iOS 8.4.1.*** I was able to complete every step in the list until these step(s): > I get stuck at ***step 20.*** This is when you start the downgrade. When the downgrade appears, I click **Download and Install** as usual. But when I click it, it just stays on this screen forever: The **Download and Install** button will stay grayed out and will have a spinning wheel. I am using an iPad mini (1st gen) and am running iOS 9.3.5 For other people, the downgrade will start **immediately.** Am I missing anything?

I have an iPhone 3G. I am trying to restore it but have had trouble all day. This is what I have done so far: 1. Run redsn0w 0.96b6 2. Use iPhone1,2_4.2.1_8C148_Restore.ipsw as the current firmware. 3. Run redsn0w with default settings until the iPhone enters DFU mode 4. Everything from redsn0w's perspective runs great - the phone installs the jailbroken data, and reboots, as expected. 5. I then open up iTunes and still get a "an iPhone was detected in recovery mode" error. My iPhone shows the frustrating image of the USB cable plugging into iTunes. What could I be doing wrong? I'm at my wits end here. Thanks.

I want to read (and possibly edit) the Short Message Service Center number of my carrier on iOS. I don’t think there is a user-accessible method for this. My phone is a jailbroken iPhone 6s running iOS 15. I looked at /var/mobile/Library/SMS/sms.db, but this file only contains the messages themselves.

I am able to SSH into my iPhone and update the file /var/mobile/Library/Caches/com.saurik.Cydia/sources.list with the number of repos, but the file gets reverted as soon as I try to update the repos through the Cydia app. Is there a way to download/update the Cydia sources through command link. I am basically looking to add multiple sources easily into Cydia.

I have an jailbroken iPad running iPad OS 17, that has an app that I'm afraid the makers of the app would make it into a subscription basis. The app itself is about ~300 GB (most of it app data) that I: * Don't ever want it to access the internet * Don't want it ever to update (via the App Store or by itself) * Want to back it up in my NAS in the event it accidentally does so I can restore the App and ALL the associated downloaded app data to it's current state in this iPad or another iPad How would one go about doing this? How do I jailbreak iOS 6.1.2 without installing Cydia?

I am trying to restore my MacBook Pro 2023 after wiping out the SSD contents while trying to uninstall Asahi Linux. I am following the [Partitioning cheatsheet](https://github.com/AsahiLinux/docs/wiki/Partitioning-cheatsheet) . I went into the burden of installing idevicerestore in both another M1 Mac and Ubuntu and I am getting the same result. All goes well until it waits for the Mac to boot, the mac never boots and eventually times out:

I have found that if I just power off and on with the magic keys again, it detects it and it's able to proceed. But apparently, the problem is still there (the full debug output is below) :

I have an iPhone 7. I used palera1n to do a rootful jailbreak by setting up fakefs. But yesterday, my iPhone's battery completely drained out and turned off. When I plugged it in, the device booted up, but was stuck in recovery mode. I used 3utools palera1n to exit and to reboot in fakefs and all things, but none worked. Also, one thing I noticed when my iPhone was working normally is that it usually would show the Apple logo and would go black, then it would show the palera1n screen, then the Apple logo again and would boot. But now, first it shows the boot logo, then the screen goes black and then, instead of the palera1n screen, nothing shows up and directly it shows the boot logo and then starts up into recovery mode and I can't clean fakefs because of it. I really need the data in my phone it would mean alot if you all could help me. My phone is kind of a stuck in a loop.

I would like an equivalent to Termux on iOS. It should in some way emulate a Linux command line with a full range of installable packages like apt and ideally even run Linux (as with Andronix), and be about as fast as the phone’s hardware normally allows. There is iSH but for some reason I find it quite slow, I don’t know if it’s built in some fundamentally different way than Termux. Is there a good option for this (willing to jailbreak if necessary)?

Since the new Macs have ARM chips, there is now access a build of macOS that technically could run on a device like, say, the iPad Pro? The architecture should be pretty much the same, I guess? Clearly some tinkering would be required, but what are the main technical obstacles to it, even with the right skills and tools? I suppose this would be something similar to what the Hackintosh community has been doing for over a decade with macOS on Intel computers. Only instead of creating Clover bootloader etc. to make macOS "think" it's running on a Mac, the same would be done on a jailbroken iPad, making macOS think that iPad is a Mac. Obviously one would pair a bluetooth keyboard and mouse to get that desktop experience. Heck, maybe even a second monitor through the thunderbolt port on the iPad Pro? I figure the coolest thing would be to have a dual-boot of both iOS and macOS on the same iPad. I guess virtualisation on top of iOS may also work, but I think the performance would be way better if running bare metal macOS. Another cool idea, Imagine having macOS as a dual boot option on your iPhone 12. All you would need would be a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse, and an adapter to plug it into a TV, and your phone could be your computer to go wherever you needed it. I am mainly talking about a fully function version of macOS here, with GUI, Bluetooth support, etc.

I've tried a bunch of different things but whenever I try to send a video on WhatsApp the app crashes. It works fine in cydia safe mode though. PS: I jailbroke the phone Are there fixes to prevent this crash?

I would like to block ports and network traffic when using my jailbroken iOS device as a Personal Hotspot. The reason is I don't want my backup program, computer updates, or any high bandwidth usage applications to be able to download or upload too much data. There is a junkyard bunch of your “liked” songs in Spotify, but what good is that if you can’t listen to, say, all your Michael Jackson records you liked!? There is even a fake “liked songs” button which, oops, by mere happenstance is named the same as the liked songs (the thousands songs junkyard of yours) that you actually liked. That fake liked songs button inside any artist will show basically _popular_ songs of that artist, songs that are _generally liked_ but you may have never even heard of let alone liked or like. There is no “[my] liked songs” or “[my] liked albums” within which you would also be able to list “[your] liked songs” and the same is true for artists. We need “list liked” button inside every category, or a “hide [those not yet] liked”. **Is there a jailbreak tweak to achieve either or both of these on iOS 14.3?**

I am wondering if you can make an USB bootable without using a Bootable MacOS Monterey, Ventura, etc. I am asking you guys, if I have to add some special EFI partition with files in the USB or if I have to use some jailbreak to make an USB force bootable (if it exists), because since I am on a M1 Mac, USBs can't be bootable by adding a EFI folder in the base partition of the USB like the Intel Ones.

I have upgraded my iPhone 3G from iOS 3 to iOS 4.2.1 using the iclarified Redhook for windows tutorial . Upgrade has gone fine but I cannot get Redsn0w (v0.9.6b6) to recognise the DFU state. Every time I restart in DFU mode, I get the following error: > "No Device Detected. You probably misunderstood the instructions. > Please consult Google or YouTube on how to enter DFU mode" Please note I had problems entering DFU following the Redsn0w instructions (i.e. start from off then: hold power 2-3s, power & home 5-10s, then home 13s) as these do not work from power off on my iphone 3g. If my iphone is off and power button or power & home button are held, iphone immediately starts in recovery mode (with icon). I can enter DFU (black screen) by having phone on, holding power button and slide power off on screen, I then release power button 5-6s after phone has switched off (per DFU instructions on google utube etc), phone enters DFU mode but not picked up by redsnow Any suggestions welcome
