I have nsurlsessiond eating all my bandwidth. That's because I have iCloud Drive enabled. But I wouldn't like to deactivate it for good, 'cause when I'm at home, where I have a fiber broadband, I like it to keep iCloud content in sync with my local drive. However, when I'm traveling I like to be able to stop this guy from eating all my paid LTE mobile service. I tried to uncheck iCloud but it pops-up a message saying that all my iCloud documents will be deleted from my local drive. If I press the button to keep a copy, it sais it need to finish synchronization before stoping the service. I tried links like the one below, which recommends stopping the nsurlsessiond process, but it keeps coming back. How to know what nsurlsessiond is downloading Is there a way to just pause iCloud drive or to make it work only when I'm at home? Thank you

Before, after plugging in the stick an Apple Script was auto-run and router admin interface located at http://192.168.8.1 was opened automatically. Now the Volume called HiLink is mounted but the app cannot be started since it's 32-bit. The solutions to make Huawei work with Mojave don’t work for me. Where can I find a workaround app or update?

Is there a way to disable the mobile-data-saving features in iOS? I now have a mobile plan with unlimited LTE data, it's faster and more reliable than most Wi-Fi connections as well. So it would be great if I could tell my iPhone that it's ok to do things such as **download 100+ MB apps** from the App Store, or actually download **videos from my iCloud photo library in full 4k/60fps resolution**, or **download an iOS update** etc. (The aforementioned restrictions are in place **only** in mobile data mode and **not** when the device is connected to Wi-Fi.) But I don't see a user-settable option anywhere? Seems certain restrictions are in place such that iOS wants certain network things only to happen on Wi-Fi? It should be smarter than that. It's good that iOS tries to save mobile data by default, but it's strange that there is no choice for the user here. The data saving options are kind of arbitrary and actually moot anyways. If you allow some app to use data (which is the default), that app can then download as much as it wants on mobile. edit - I've been using a hacky workaround: A macOS computer is needed. Connect your iPhone to your Mac via USB, make sure the Mac is network-tethered to your iPhone via USB connection (in Network Settings). Then, enable Internet Sharing in Sharing Settings on your Mac. Set it up to share the internet connection from iPhone-USB via Wifi. Your Mac will create a WiFi hotspot. Then, on your iPhone, connect to that WiFi hotspot. Your iPhone will be pleased by the WiFi connection and lift its arbitrary restrictions. The obvious downside is that you have to have a Mac up and running, and your iPhone must be hooked up to your Mac via USB cable. (This WiFi setup will also allow you to use HomePods in stereo mode, which is not possible without a WiFi network. Get them to connect to the Mac WiFi and you're golden).

Using a Huawei USB-stick for LTE connectivity there is a data-partition on the stick that automounts and offers the installation of a "Mobile Partner.app" software and some drivers in the form of kernel extensions. These are hopelessly outdated and ceased to function with Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks. Huawei used to offer upgrades that worked under OS 10.9 and another under 10.10 That however is now gone completely from the Huawei website and older links are either 404 or greeting us with the message "Content has been archived". My mobile phone provider also used to offer their own bundle under the name "Mobile Connection Manager". That also contained updated drivers that worked with more modern versions of the OS. On their support pages the now simply state and answer likewise to questions about it that they just do not offer that any longer. The problem is now, that the old drivers can be shoehorned into a Sierra install but lead to a kernel panic on boot. This is for the latest drivers from a Huawei installer I archived. Upgraded from Yosemite the drivers work in Sierra. Those from Huawei are still called DatacardDriverMacOSX(10.9) On Mojave the installer complains about an expired certificate but continues. Expecting a security exception to confirm I restarted and the extensions just do not load at all. The system just refuses to touch them and loading is no longer possible. Now I guess that I might disable SIP for that but I would strongly prefer getting an updated driver for the hardware that works cleanly under mac OS 10.14 Mojave. The latest software I tried were Mobile Connection manager Version 8.9 (8.9.0.13408) (Every button, every action broken under Mojave, no connection) Mobile Partner.app creation date: 30. Sep. 2017 (when I last installed it on Sierra) copyright Huawei v 23.015.11.01.983 (2014) And the latest download I could now still find in a forum is bringing only a version from 18. April 2016. That was advertised in the forum as "mobile partner für 10.12" to be found at http://download-c.huawei.com/download/downloadCenter?downloadId=90143&version=352019&siteCode=worldwide the downloads a file called MAC-V200R003B015D16SP00C983.zip In that download is a driver install for HuaweiDataCardDriver_10_9.kext modification date 21. Apr. 2016 that will not load in Mojave. Now that site seems unsearchable and I did not even manage to navigate there from regular Huawei sites. They still sell sticks like the one I have, but with updated part numbers/model names/features new – and the older sticks used to work with the latest one-size fits all drivers. They only ever had one driver package for Macs that supported all sticks they ever made. As that stick I have supports all the speed the provider offers here I'd like to stick with that stick. The latest downloads to be found via the Huawei site seem to be Windows only . I feel that that cannot be the last word on it. Therefore: How do I get an old Huawei Surfstick LTE USBdongle modem to work with macOS 10.14 Mojave?

Maybe this is a stupid question, but I'm visiting the States in a few months and I was thinking of buying the iPhone 11 there. I'm aware that there are 3 models because of network compatibilities. In the States, they only sell the model A2111, and according to apple's website (iPhone LTE ), my country (Portugal) is not supported. After some research, I found from multiple sources(List of LTE networks in Europe , Frequency Check - Portugal ) that all the bands used in my Country are actually supported by this model. What I'm missing? Why would Apple remove the country from the list if it's actually supported?

I have an iPhone 7 which I bought directly from Apple, and my SIM contract is with Three here in the UK. I have been using this phone happily since September, I had noticed the mobile data connection flips between *3G* and *4G* which I thought little of at first. I figured 3G = HSPA/+ and 4G = LTE. However, the other week I was with a friend in the US who had recently got a 7 plus. She is with AT&T and I noticed that her phone was most often displaying *LTE* as the connection type. I thought this was odd as I had never seen this on my own iPhone 7 and had presumed that 4G meant LTE. I did a little googling and found some discussions which claimed that on iOS the 4G mean HSPA+ and 3G means regular old 3G. In this case I was double confused as my carrier, Three, supposedly has a 4G LTE network and so I should see LTE from time to time. I understand that Three does not have an LTE-Advanced network, only regular LTE. So is this perhaps the distinction and confusion? 4G = LTE and LTE = LTE-Advanced? Could somebody perhaps clear up what is going on? Do I need to contact my carrier to change the network connection settings on my phone? If I can make use of the iPhone 7's faster mobile data tech then I would like to as I am a very heavy data user. The reason I went with Three was for their unlimited data tariff. EDIT: As requested by owlswipe. A photo showing Speedtest saying the network is "Three LTE" with the network icon at the top left saying "4G" which it did throughout the test. I am on 40th floor of a tower here so speeds aren't fantastic... ![Speedtest shows "Three LTE"](https://i.sstatic.net/kxw5q.jpg)

I've read elsewhere that using 3G causes greater battery drain than 4G (in fact, Apple's own iPhone 5s spec sheet indicates that you only get 8 hours of 3G data, versus 10 hours of 4G LTE data). Which leads me to the following line of thought... If I disable LTE and revert to standard 4G, what is the effect on battery life?

I’ve recently purchased an iPad Air advertised as ‘Wifi Only’ but it has the sim card tray & antenna. I’ve got the exact same model A1475 in a different storage capacity variant side-by-side with it, the model numbers match. Both are indeed Wifi + Cellular models. Using Apple's site https://checkcoverage.apple.com and entering the serial number to check the service and support coverage of the devices, both are shown to be 'iPad Air WiFi, Cellular' The serial numbers on the back of the devices match the serial number in ‘Settings->General->About’ for each device respectively. The one lacking cellular capability also lacks the following fields in the ‘About’ section: Network, Carrier, Cellular Data Number, IMEI, ICCID, MEID, Modem Firmware. It does not have ‘Cellular Data’ or ‘Carrier’ in the first category of settings either as the older iPad does either, usually 'Airplane Mode, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Cellular Data, Carrier'. I've tried 2 different sim cards, both which work in my phone and other cellular iPad but there's absolutely no indication that it's been inserted or lack thereof. Other suggestion around the web and on the Apple forums indicate to restore the iPad, users have reported only WiFi firmware is compatible and resetting network settings (I've reset the entire device), all to no avail for other users either. Browsing other forums I’ve learnt that: - The software setting up the antenna may have failed during a software update therefore no longer has the cellular capability. (iPhones are not prone to this however) - The board within the device or certain components could have been removed in order to remove an iCloud lock that existed on the device. I picked up both second-hand for dirt-cheap prices and the newer iPad was originally advertised as ‘WiFi only’ anyway so there’s no issue with that, I would just like to find a way to resolve the issue is possible. I’d be grateful for any suggestions. Edit 01/06/2017 I opened up the iPad and found that a cable from the sim card tray to the motherboard where the screen ICs are connected was unplugged. When turning the iPad on, it attempts to look for a signal (shows the 5 empty circles) but then changes to the text 'iPad' but without the pop-up that reads 'No sim card inserted'. I may have damaged the cable when inserting it, it was a mission to get in, that's probably why the last person who repaired it didn't put it into place.

In other words in top left corner on my screen there is provider (operator) and right next to it I usually have LTE. This LTE disappears from unknown reason (even in places that are 100% covered by LTE, but that is ok, I can accept it) but the problem is that it doesn't come back until I restart iPhone completely. I tried to restart data connection or some other things, but nothing worked. Only turning off and on again completely. Has anyone experienced this or have suggestions? Many thanks

This question applies to phones on the AT&T network. I don’t know if the same happens on other networks. You're no doubt familiar with the AT&T Star Services codes one uses from the Phone app on an iPhone, such as *3282# to check data usage or *646# to check minute usage. Whenever I send one of those codes while on the LTE network, the connection switches to 4G and remains there until you get the information you requested (via SMS), and remains on 4G even after the SMS text is received. After anywhere from 20 to 60 seconds the connection automatically goes back to LTE. Any idea why this happens?

These are the bands used in Spain (http://prepaid-data-sim-card.wikia.com/wiki/Spain) . However, the Apple page suggests that even though the 1533 model is compatible with these bands, it is not compatible with Spanish carriers and instead you need model 1457. Note also that model 1457 is not listed as compatible with Canadian carriers even though it is compatible with the LTE bands used here (700 and 1700 MHz). Does this mean that although the Spanish LTE frequencies are supported, the phone will not work on LTE in Spain because the carriers aren't supported on model 1533? Or does it mean that although not officially supported, the 1533 model will work with Spanish carriers if I purchase the appropriate sim in Spain?

I also know that if I buy an unlocked T-Mobile iPhone, Verzion will not allow it to be used on their service. Does anyone have experience with this? I'm certain the Verizon 5s will work on T-Mobile 3G/HSPA+, but I'd really like to have LTE.
