The CardDAV server I'm trying to connect to uses a self-signed certificate. Unfortunately I cannot do anything about it. In previous OS X versions, when connecting to this server the system asked if I want to connect using this insecure certificate. I could accept and continue. When trying the same thing in the current OS X version, this does not work. The Contacts.app only show a connection issue. When looking into the logs in Console, I could find this error: 02/12/15 00:55:39,637 Contacts: [CardDAVPlugin-ERROR] -getPrincipalInfo:[_controller discoverServer https://user@host:port(null)] Error Domain=NSURLErrorDomain Code=-1200 "An SSL error has occurred and a secure connection to the server cannot be made." UserInfo={ _kCFStreamErrorCodeKey=-9801, NSLocalizedRecoverySuggestion=Would you like to connect to the server anyway? } No alert, no asking for proceeding anyways. Now I thought I might be able to download the certificate, add it to the keychain and set the default trust to "Always Trust". echo -n | openssl s_client -connect host:port | sed -ne '/-BEGIN CERTIFICATE-/,/-END CERTIFICATE-/p' > carddav.cer Got the certificate, added it to the keychain, set the trust and tried again – bummer: Same error again and still no confirmation dialog. Now my question is: Is there any way to allow Contacts.app to connect to my server or to bring back the confirmation dialog? **EDIT** As requested, here are my SSL connection details: CONNECTED(00000003) depth=0 CN = , O = , OU = , ST = , C = , L = , emailAddress = verify error:num=18:self signed certificate verify return:1 depth=0 CN = , O = , OU = , ST = , C = , L = , emailAddress = verify return:1 --- Certificate chain 0 s:/CN=/O=/OU=/ST=/C=/L=/emailAddress= i:/CN=/O=/OU=/ST=/C=/L=/emailAddress= --- Server certificate -----BEGIN CERTIFICATE----- -----END CERTIFICATE----- subject=/CN=/O=/OU=/ST=/C=/L=/emailAddress= issuer=/CN=/O=/OU=/ST=/C=/L=/emailAddress= --- No client certificate CA names sent --- SSL handshake has read 1198 bytes and written 658 bytes --- New, TLSv1/SSLv3, Cipher is AES256-SHA Server public key is 2048 bit Secure Renegotiation IS supported Compression: NONE Expansion: NONE No ALPN negotiated SSL-Session: Protocol : SSLv3 Cipher : AES256-SHA Session-ID: Session-ID-ctx: Master-Key: Key-Arg : None PSK identity: None PSK identity hint: None SRP username: None Start Time: 1449069604 Timeout : 300 (sec) Verify return code: 18 (self signed certificate) --- DONE

I'm looking for sync plugins for current Outlook for Mac to make it talk to CardDAV and CalDAV servers. So far I only found plugins for Windows. Any hints?

I run my own CalDAV/CardDAV-server to synchronize all my calendar events and contacts across my devices. Everything was working fine until I upgraded to El Capitan a few days ago. Now Addressbook can't connect to the CardDAV-server anymore. After I checked the logfiles on my server, I figured out what the problem is: The setup assistant in System Preferences asks for the server address but actually saves a completely different (maybe standard) address, which then of course won't work. Does someone know how to fix this? Maybe I can change the values via Terminal and change the settings there. It also seems that these accounts don't sync properly via iCloud, which makes the account working fine on one machine and not working on the other machine. Of course I can't delete the synced account there and make a new one because then it will just move the problem between the machines.

Can I use Google CardDAV sync on my Mac?
Is it possible for me to use Google's excellent CardDAV contact sync service on my OS X (10.8) computer? It works very well on iOS, but the same settings do not work on a computer.

CardDav / CalDav not syncing existing entries
I set up both CalDav and CardDav on my iPhone 4S using iOS 6. It does sync new entries both ways but it fails to sync any of the existing ones. Google search queries did not shed any light on this question, so: Is this service meant to sync existing information either one way or two ways?

I recently set up a CardDav account on my iPhone 4S which is running iOS 6.01. It synced with my GMail account just fine, however, the Contacts app only shows those that are within the My Contacts group. I have a handful of other groups that I've created to organize my contacts, so not all of them are shown under My Contacts (what they call a contact group seems to be just a label). My question is, how can I view/use **all** my GMail contacts on my iPhone, regardless of the GMail group they are in? Or is that something Google doesn't support yet?

Having read the answers to , I switched off Contacts on the Exchange account, and set up CardDAV following Google instructions. Google is set as the default account on the iPhone. I have nearly instantaneous updates from the iPhone to Google. But I've waited a couple of hours and have yet to see a new contact and an update to an existing contact that I made via web Gmail show up on the phone. Is there a setting I'm missing? Per Google help, I already checked that the Account is on, and that I am using SSL. I'm on iOS 6.0. Well, seven hours later I have the updates on the phone. Is this the norm?

Can I use Google's new CardDAV-based contacts sync to sync between my Exchange contacts and Google contacts on my iPhone?

I want my Google contacts and my Exchange contacts to sync through my iPhone as follows: Google contacts iPhone Exchange contacts and I was looking at Google's CardDAV sync as a way to do it. http://gmailblog.blogspot.com/2012/09/a-new-way-to-sync-google-contacts.html?m=1 First, is this even possible? What I can't understand is that after you add the CardDAV account to the iPhone your new contacts must go in that specific contacts group in order to sync. But of course they won't sync to Exchange since the Exchange contacts by definition are in their own group. Can I do this?

I have had a Gmail account for as many years as they've been available, but recently I've moved to use my own domain name with Google Apps. So now I have a Gmail account *and* a Google Apps account. They are *nearly identical* but they are not identical. For example, Google still seems to offer some features to Gmail users before Google Apps users. Until recently, Google Voice was not available for Google Apps, and so I created my Google Voice number through my Gmail account. The problem now is that I have a Google Apps account where I use email, and a Gmail account where I use Google Voice. Why is this a problem? **Contacts.** I need/want up to date phone numbers on my Gmail account to help with Google Voice, but I need/want up to date email address information on my Google Apps account. So I need/want to sync *two* Gmail/Google Apps accounts with my Mac and with my iPhone and iPad. I have been searching for ways to sync these without much success. I have tried: * [Plaxo](http://www.plaxo.com) (seemed like it *should* work, but didn't work well. Also $60/year). * [Spanning Sync](http://blog.spanningsync.com/2012/07/end-of-the-line-for-spanning-sync.html) (worked well until Apple broke it [see link]) * Futzing around with the **Contacts.app** sync on Mac OS X to try to get it to sync two accounts (did not work at all) * A few older "Sync your contacts to Gmail" Mac apps that I found on the web (most of which probably date back to 10.4 before OS X had this built-in). Now that CardDAV is available, I wondered if there was any new possibility of doing this.
