Is there any way to import reminders created in Google Calendar to ANY of the available free app in macOS Big Sur?
Ideally it would be nice to have a sync feature as well but I would be happy with just a single-time import from Google Calendar for reminders so that all future reminders can be created in the suggested app.
I am pretty sure that the native Reminders doesn't do that and neither does the Calendar app.

Google Drive for Desktop – How to stop the "Syncing files from local folders to Computers" on my Mac?

I am using a MacBook with OS macOS Big Sur **version 11.7.10**. I am also using the application **Drive for Desktop** on the same device.
**Some context** before I ask my question: On the homepage for **Drive for Web** (i.e., https://drive.google.com/drive/home) , I see three _things_, namely
Picture 2:
Picture 3:
Picture 4:
Thank you in advance!
My Drive
, Shared drives
and Computers
. Please see Picture 3.
Inside Computers
I see my laptop My MacBook Pro
, and inside that, there are the two folders which I have chosen to sync with Google Drive
. Please see Picture 1. (These two folders are Folder C
and Folder D
in the structure below).
1. Drive for Web - Home (https://drive.google.com/drive/home)
- My Drive
* Folder A
- Shared drives
* Folder B
- Computers
* My MacBook Pro
- Folder C (Aetna)
- Folder D (Career & Jobs - MS)
I am using Stream files
as my Drive syncing options
. Please see Picture 2.
Also, this version of macOS uses Alternative streaming method
(it does **not** use File Provider
).
Now, I would like to stop the synchronizing of those two folders with Google Drive (Folders C and D), and, after that, I would like to disconnect my account from Google Drive so that I no longer continue with the synchronizing.
**My question**: How do I stop the synchronizing while not losing any files inside those two folders (Folders C and D)? In the picture attached, there is no option called stop sync
or anything similar. There is one option to Disconnect account
directly (see Picture 4) but there is no option to simply stop syncing before doing that.
So I am worried that I may lose all my files if I do that directly.
Can somebody please guide me on how to do this step-by-step?

I was looking for a way to sync my reminders from Google Calendar with the reminders app in iOS 5.
I have Google Sync set up, and on my "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" settings page, it says "Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Reminders" are being synced with Google Sync, but reminders created on the gmail tasks (or google calendar tasks) do not show up on the phone, and vice versa.
What can I do to get them to sync?
**--update:**
Macworld says :
> You can also save your tasks to Google Calendar or Exchange servers,
> which then handle the syncing separately.
But it doesn't say how to do it...

I'm trying to get the Contacts app on MacOS Big Sur to display my Google contacts correctly. I have the account configured and the contacts themselves show up, but the Google contact tags (what Google calls "labels" and Apple calls "groups") aren't showing up.
Further, if I add a new contact group in the Contacts app under "Google" and use it to group several contacts, they seem to be stored locally (they are there after I reboot) but don't get pushed up to Google.
Any suggestions how to debug this further?

I have had some sync issue with my Google calendars and my iPhone / iPad / macOS calendar app, so I have decided to try to fix it.
I removed / added my Google Account from my iPhone and now I can see the calendar without issue. The problem is with Calendar desktop application (on macOS).
I followed all the instructions but while I can see Google listed on iCal, I can't see my Google calendars (check the picture).
I've tried all the instructions on Google's support pages but without success.
What else can I do to fix this issue?

I have a Google Calendar from a work account, and I want the events there to show up in (sync with) my Apple calendar on Mac.
To add Google Calendar events to Apple calendar on Mac, I believe it is doable since I found an official Google help [here](https://support.google.com/calendar/answer/99358?hl=en&co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop) , however that must be a very old one, as I found things on MacOS Sonoma are entirely different.
This is the first time I'm using MacOS Sonoma.
Can somebody help please.

After updating to macOS Mojave 10.14.4 two days ago and still, I have an issue with *taking online* Google accounts in Apple Mail.app.
This problem appeared immediately after the update, although it wasn't there before. Also after this update, Apple Mail requested to re-login through Safari and it was simple authentication.

I translated the prompt message from Italian to English, so it might not be completely accurate.

I got a strange error message that might pertain to the issue:
I reset my PRAM 5 times this morning. So far, I can't tell the difference.
What can be done to restore the former connectivity to these apps?
I'm an intermediate-advanced user, so I *can* follow advanced steps.
operation couldn’t be completed. (OSStatus error -9806.)
Recently, I did do a little bit of file deletions by name (a measure to manually uninstall an app after using the app's own uninstallation tool, since it did an incomplete job) across all user libraries. Parental Controls are also active (which I *can* bypass, but prefer not to disable altogether), and
has been using obscene amounts of RAM ever since (up to 3.5GB; averages at 1.3GB).
Other issues that subsequently arose include internet response in web browsers *other than Safari* is extremely slowed, and certain functions do not respond, namely…
• Opera (and its 'VPN' proxy service; it does not offer multiple proxy options anymore; download speeds are between bytes and kilobytes for the first 5 minutes or so, previously ranging between 500KBps and 5MBps.)
• Opera GX (default browser with same errors as Opera, except that when I open a link from Apple's Mail application, it does not load the webpage but rather merely launches the application. Beforehand, it would default to opening in whichever application window was closest to the top (in the application switcher), no matter the browser or privacy mode. Now, it forcefully launches Opera GX and doesn't even process the link that prompted it to launch.)
• Discord (desktop app; usually had instantaneous response, now takes two minutes to launch and 30 seconds to load pages, even if I had just visited them less than a minute earlier.)
• Dictionary (Wikipedia search, specifically. This is where I got the error message. After the error message displays, it takes 30 seconds to load any page– it used to be instantaneous.)
• Mail (Apple's email application; runs normally, except that if there is web content on an email, it takes an extra 10 seconds to load.)
Meanwhile, Safari is running faster than ever.
When dragging a Finder window's icon to a file-upload browser, it drags the window instead (unless I click and hold for 3 seconds on the icon only, before dragging).
Lastly, I'm constantly prompted to re-authenticate my Google account. I select 'continue.' It opens System Preferences and prompts me to open in Safari to authenticate. I select 'Open in Safari' and then wait a minute. Safari never opens, and even if it's already open it doesn't launch the login prompt. Instead, I get this:

I’m running High Sierra on a 2016 MacbookPro. My business account uses G Suite (Gmail). I use Mac Mail and sync to my business account. I have a few other email accounts but my business account is by far the biggest.
I’m running out of drive space. I currently am showing 50GB space remaining on the 1TB drive in this Mac. Mail is the biggest user of disk space, with /Library/Mail taking up 160GB of space.
I’m trying to free up space but I don’t seem to be doing a very good job of it. I have tried Erase Deleted Items, which got me a little. I created a smart mailbox for email with attachments that is older than 5 years, and am using Remove Attachments but it’s a slow process. If I try to do more than about 500 emails at a time, Mail crashes. And removing attachments from 500 emails takes quite a few minutes. I have about 30,000 emails in this smart mailbox so it’s going to take a while to go through all those, and I’m not even sure this is the best approach, because it doesn’t seem to be having much of an effect on disk space so far.
One thing I notice inside /Library/Mail/V5 are what appear to be two “accounts” (folders with letter/number names) that both are large in size. One is 81GB and the other is 72GB. Looking inside those, the smaller one appears to be “On My Mac”. It’s full of folders of filed mail (I am a filer. Everything I get that I want to keep gets filed according to client/project/etc.) The larger one contains several subfolders, the only large one of which is [Gmail].mbox, which contains All Mail.mbox.
I am pretty sure that is syncing “All Mail” from Gmail, and I think the problem is, because I am a filer, I end up with two copies of many messages: One in On My Mac and one in the Gmail Archive or All Mail folder, which is getting synced down to my Mac.
It seems if I could get rid of All Mail on my Mac I’d immediately free up 81GB of space. I don’t want to get rid of All Mail altogether. It’d be good to keep it around at Google in case I miss something. But I would like to not sync it down to my computer. I still need my inbox, and other Gmail functionality to work, but I’m wondering if there’s a way to stop syncing All Mail to my Mac. And, if that’s even a good idea.
I also see the option in account settings for Download Attachments, with the options All, Recent and None. I read that Recent refers to messages up to 15 months old. If I switch to Recent will that update the synced All Mail folder to remove older attachments on my Mac, or would I still need to manually remove them? This presumes that the attachments are the bulk of the issue.
Any advice will be most welcome - thank you!

I would like to accomplish the following, which, in today's technological ecosystem, seems like it should just happen anyway:
* I take a photo on my Android phone
* The phone uploads it somewhere automatically (presumably Google Photos)
* My Mac downloads it automatically into a folder
In other words, I want the photos on my android device to seamlessly appear in a folder on my Mac, without me needing to do anything besides take the photo.
I have Google Drive installed, but my photos don't seem to be there. I tried installing "Google Backup and Sync", but it crashed immediately and I can't get it to work. (I'm on OS X 10.11, so maybe that's why. I don't intend to upgrade until I get a new machine.) I've head that Google Backup and Sync is quite complex and fiddly to use anyway.
Is there any other way that automatic photo sync between Android and Mac can be accomplished? If possible, I'd prefer not to use Dropbox, because mine is nearly full and I already pay for additional space on Google Drive, so I don't want to upgrade Dropbox as well.

Google Backup and Sync kicked in and was at 100% CPU with the fan on hair dryer mode for nearly 2 weeks. Unfortunately there were 1000s of extremely small source code files which Google Backup can not handle efficiently. See https://support.google.com/drive/thread/5381381?hl=en

Google Drive recently became Google Backup and Sync, and this dialog started occasionally popping out of its menu bar item:
I don't have a "Boot OS X" folder that I'm aware of, in Google Drive or locally. When I look at the settings for Google Backup and Sync, I don't see anything about this. I haven't touched the settings since it was Google Drive, so it's set to sync my Google Drive and nothing more.
I can't tell what the files are from the little generic icons, and I can't figure out how to get a list. It's also not clear what device it's talking about, or what choice it's going to remember (since the options are essentially "yes" or "later").
Does anyone know what this dialog is about and what I might have done to cause it?

macOS 10.14.6, Calendar.app 11.0 (2245.5.2)
Less than an hour ago, I brought Calendar.app to the foreground (I usually keep it running, hidden in the background), and most (8 out of 12) of my Google calendar contents were completely gone. All calendar names are still listed/checked in the Calendar List pane on the left side of the window. I can't figure out why some are still there and some aren't. I rebooted, but still the same problem. If I view my calendars on the web at calendar.google.com, all contents are present & normal there. I use Mail.app to read my gmail account, and all email is present & acting normally. The Google Calendar IDs continue to match in Calendar.app and in the prefs at calendar.google.com. No errors are being shown to me in the UI, and I don't see any errors in Console.app. I have never had this happen before.
Very mysterious! Any suggestions?
