I recently encountered error 500 when trying to add new playlists, with the option set to add playlisted items to my library. I haven't found any documentation for Apple Music error messages. What does an error 500 in Apple Music mean? **Update**: Adding new items directly to my library instead of via a playlist gives a more helpful error message, stating "These additions would exceed the Cloud Music Library limit of 100,000 songs". So I think error 500 probably means the same thing.

I'm experiencing an issue where exactly every 60 seconds, the screen briefly dims, then brightens, then beeps. I don't care about the dimming/brightening, but the beeping is maddening. It happens while charging using a new (non-Apple) Magsafe3 connector I bought, connected to a 96W Apple power adaptor. This combo otherwise seems to charge fine. So: can I fix this behaviour? Or at the least, prevent the beeping? It's a 2022 M2 Max Macbook Pro. Ventura 13.6.3 (22G436) EDIT After some research I've discovered: - the screen dimming behaviour can be disabled in settings, "Slightly dim the display on battery" - the beep is called the "Power chime". So now the question is how to disable the power chime. The actual file is at /System/Library/CoreServices/PowerChime.app/Contents/Resources/connect_power.aif but I'm not able to modify/remove it.

I recently updated my 2017 MBP to Ventura. Ever since, my system has been running very poorly I've noted that 90% of the time, when it is acting up, there is an XProtectRemediatorSnowBeagle process taking up 2.01 GB of RAM – consistently. It does not go away, and force-quitting only works maybe half the time. Trying to kill it from terminal often fails as well, with some variant of "Operation Not Permitted" It's usually a root-owned process. At least once, there's been a second copy of it, taking up another 2.01 GB of RAM, owned by the active user account Other remediators, like XProtectRemediatorAdload, seem to run normally – they get up to something like 1.5 GB of RAM, and then finish what they're doing and quit. This one doesn't. It just sticks around in RAM Sampling it in Activity Monitor shows a call graph hung on a _dispatch_group_wait_slow -> _dlock_wait -> __ulock_wait. I can't find any suspicious files open with lsof I haven't tried a fresh install yet. I'm hoping to avoid it, as it's always a nightmare to get everything configured how I want it again. I'd really prefer to diagnose what's causing it to hang, and get rid of that... or reinstall XProtect, if that's a thing... or just disable it altogether, tbh, as I'm pretty confident in my ability to avoid malware on my own – but I can't figure out how to do any of that Any ideas? I've tried an SMC reset, NVRAM / PRAM reset, disabling csrutil... no dice. Raw logs below dtruss:

As per title, I'm using a external NTFS hard disk for storage (guess it doesn't matter the type, but I can give more informations if needed). It happen many times, however, that I receive Finder error -50 > The operation could not be completed.
An unexpected error occurred (error code -50). when trying to remove files (it also happen when move files from the external hd to the local one, dragging and dropping with cmd pressed).
I read on the web that it may be related to illegal characters in files' names, however it seems to happen also for files that have nothing "strange" in the name (i.e. asdf.txt). Besides, when the popup appears, the file gets deleted even if I cancel the operation. I'm using MacOS 10.7.4 and Paragon NTFS 9.0.1 for enabling NTFS read/write. Any idea of what may be the error?

iPhone is stuck in Recovery Mode with full storage

I was trying to update my iPhone X (GSM) from iOS 12.3.1 to iOS 14.0.1 **The following steps was carried:** 1- Downloading the latest firmware ipsw (size 4.61 GB) from iPhone10,3,iPhone10,6_14.0.1_18A393_Restore.ipsw from ipsw.me 2- Downloading the latest iTunes on my Windows 10 PC 3- Connecting the iPhone by an original USB cable to my PC 4- Locating my iPhone and pressing "Shift" button from my keyboard and pressing on the Update from iTunes 5- Selected the ipsw which was previously downloaded. 6- During in the middle of the update, an error came out with a code # 14. 7- My iPhone got stuck permanently on the iTunes logo 8- Tried for several times to exit the Recovery Mode by Pressing and quickly release the Volume Up button. Press and quickly release the Volume Down button. Then, press and hold the Side button. it just keep restarting and getting back into the Recovery Mode. 9- Downloaded couple of software's "Tenorshare ReiBoot Pro" and "3uTools" to force exit Recovery Mode, no good results. The problem here is happening because I guess that I have tried to install the updates although there was no enough storage on my iPhone. If there is anyway to delete large files in order to free space of my iPhone (while it is in Recovery Mode" it would be much appreciated. Or If there is a way to update the iPhone to any iOS that has a small ipsw size would help on this issue, bare in mind downgrading or using OTA (Over the Air) firmwares to be directly installed on my iPhone by a PC. **Note:** - There is no back up file for the iPhone - All the documents on the iPhone are needed, therefore; restoring the iPhone is not an option as it would erase all the files and bring it to its original factory settings. - The above concern was similar to this case https://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/388205/iphone-stuck-on-apple-logo-because-of-storage-full-any-solution-to-delete-some but there was no answer to solve the issue. **Thinking outside the box:** If there is a way to connect the iPhone to any operating system i.e. Linux and have it connected there by entering the file explorer in order to delete some large files would help, need some experiments please.

Problem: After transferring Ventura 13.6.7 system and files from MacBook 16 2019 to iMac 2017, I can't log into my Apple ID like any other, always like in the video. If you create a new user in the transferred system, then everything is ok, he will be able to log in to any Apple ID, but the user is new and my desktop is not there (if it is possible to transfer the desktop of the old user to the new one, write how) What I've done: Safe mode doesn't help (it gives an error when logging in to Apple ID: The operation cannot be completed. Error AASignInErrors -8004), VPN doesn't help, changing the username doesn't help, renaming the folder doesn't help. help, replacing the name of the old user's folder with the new user's folder does not help (the system does not boot), commands in the terminal do not help, changing the name of the root folders for users simply leads to an eternal password loading at login. I need exactly the transferred user with his desktop, if it is possible to somehow transfer it to a new created user so that everything works, I’m waiting for ideas. Video information: https://youtu.be/Il3qWGrsA8E After the transfer, the imac shows that I have already signed in to the Apple ID, but there is no synchronization with iCloud and this PC is not on the iCloud website. If you click sign out of Apple ID and sign in again, it asks for a code,sign in I cannot — there is no error or warning. I click sign in button and the sign in button appears again. If you go to appstore, the situation is similar.

**Note**: The question is not about how to change the locale, or what is the locale. The question is about why is there a locale-based error in
in 10.3, but no error in 12.6, even though the locales are identical in both cases. I use iTerm, but this appears in terminal.app as well. --- After running
, reading a manual entry and closing it, I receive the following error
$ man curl # The manual opens, I read it, then close
Unknown locale, assuming C
$ man zsh # The manual opens, I read it, then close
Unknown locale, assuming C
The manual pages work correctly, and can be browsed, but I have no idea where the error comes from, and it is rather annoying. This is what I obtain when running
$ locale
LANG=""
LC_COLLATE="C"
LC_CTYPE="UTF-8"
LC_MESSAGES="C"
LC_MONETARY="C"
LC_NUMERIC="C"
LC_TIME="C"
LC_ALL=
I'm using Ventura 13.0. The same error does not happen in 12.6 even though the
is identical (see below), so I do not think that it is an issue with
, but rather an issue with
. Note that
says
LANG Used as a substitute for any unset LC_* variable. \
If LANG is unset, it will act as if set to "C". If any of LANG or \
LC_* are set to invalid values, locale acts as if they are all unset.
so there should be no error,
should be automatically set to
. Trying to narrow this down, I ran the same commands on two computers. Computer 1 runs 13.0 outputs the error. This computer has
for MacOS 13.0 from January 9 2021. Computer 2 runs 12.6 and outputs no error. This computer has
version 1.6g from September 19 2005. The output of the
command is completely identical on both computers, in particular they both have
="UTF-8"
. Could it be a
bug?

When I start the TV app on MacOS Sequoia, I get an alert saying > The file "Application.tvdb" cannot be read. An unknown error occurred (-54). After I dismiss this I see the normal contents, and I'm able to watch a show. But while I was watching, another alert showed: > The Apple TV Library file cannot be saved. An unknown error occurred (-54). If I dismiss it, it shows up again a few minutes later. This one has a checkbox "Don't show this warning again"; I checked that to keep from being bothered repeatedly. I haven't used this application in a while (I usually watch Apple TV+ on my TV using Xfinity X1, my iPhone, or the browser on my Android tablet, but I'm away from home using my laptop today), so I don't know what changes may have precipitated it. Anyone know what causes this and how to fix it? To answer the comment:

I am trying to download Adobe Flash CS6 on my MacBook Air Sequoia 15.3.1. I am using a guide from https://getintopc.com/softwares/development/adobe-flash-cs6-official-free-download-setup-1564538/ and got as far as getting the set-up.exe, but when I try to set up Flash, it gives me an "Installation Failed" message. Installation Failed Message I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, resetting my computer, closing all other applications, and turning off my firewall. None of them have worked. I am using Wine Stable to open .exe files if that matters. Is there anything to remedy this or another method to install Adobe Flash CS6? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I'm running macOS 11.7.10 (BigSur), which is no longer compatible with the latest Microsoft OneDrive app. I successfully deleted the app, but now I'm unable to transfer some of my files that resided in the OneDrive folder. The offending files return an error message: Dialog box: I reviewed the permissions in the Finder (File > Get Info), and they are appear to be set so I have full Read & Write permissions. I even went so far as to alter the permissions for the files and their parent directories using Terminal.app and chmod, so all users have full permissions. Still, no luck. Other Q&A on this forum suggest solutions that would *require* me to use the OneDrive app, but this is not an option for me given that I can no longer run the app on my older operating system.

I have installed no additional software after installing the OS.
