Why am I getting invites to events on my wife's shared calendar that I'm not an invitee on?

My wife and I each share a couple of our calendars with each other all contained in the iOS/iCloud ecosystem. Recently, I started getting calendar event invitations in my calendar app on my mac for events she creates or edits that don't involve me in any way, i.e. I'm not an invitee on the calendar event, e.g. she has a horseback riding lesson event that she schedules occasionally. 1. Why am I getting event invitations for these events? 2. Why am I not getting invitations for other events she creates on the same calendar? 3. Why is it when I decline the invite, it does not show up in the replied events alongside other declined events? 4. How the heck do I stop these superfluous invites from happening in the first place? I could switch the calendar to a subscribed calendar to stop receiving these invites, but I do occasionally make updates to her calendar if she asks, so that's not ideal. I have "Ignore alerts" checked on that calendar. This seems like a bug. Has anyone run into this before and solved it?

I'm using the **Calendar** application on Mac OS X 10.10.1 "Yosemite". The calendar is laden with many years of history, and I've just imported some data from a phone as well. It turns out that some of the phone entries were new, but some were duplicates of entries already in Calendar. Note that "duplicate" has some complicated cases. For instance, there are weekly repeating events where the phone's data correcting deleted some instances of the meeting (we didn't meet over the New Year holiday), while the original Calendar data incorrectly shows those instances occurring. Such pairs are "duplicate", even though they aren't identical. How can I automate the process of identifying which calendar entries are duplicates, choose which one to keep, and delete the other? Is there AppleScript magic or something?

I organise my daily schedule using Apple Calendar Version 11.0 and noticed that when I'm using a Zoom link as the location for an event, a nice telephone symbol appears. When clicking on it I get redirected to the said link and can conveniently open Zoom. enter image description here However, when I use less popular video conferencing tools (e.g. https://bigbluebutton.org/) this doesn't work. enter image description here Is there a way to achieve the same behaviour for less popular tools as for e.g. Zoom?

Problem -------- Calendar invites sent to my email (usually .ics attachments, as they originate from a customers' Exchange server) do not add and sync to my calendar. The UI to handle the calendar invite differs from my wife's phone (as evidenced in the screenshots below. Invites work as expected on her phone, but not on mine. This happens to be the case on all of my iOS devices (iPad, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 7). My devices (all iOS 14.0.1) ----------- iPad 6th Generation, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 7 (no SIM) My wife's devices (iOS 14.0.1) ----------- iPhone 11 Services (all inclusive and simplified, for troubleshooting) ----- - iCloud Mail and Calendar DISABLED on both of our accounts - Google account connected, syncing Mail, Contacts and Calendars - Default Mail and Calendar on all accounts are not Gmail and Google Calendar Detail (My devices) ------ When I receive a meeting invitation, there is an .ics attachment. When tapping on that attachment, I am presented with a card that has "Add to calendar" and "Delete Event" at the bottom. - My name appears in the invitee list with a gray "?" - Tapping on "Add to Calendar" brings up another card where I can choose the calendar to add the event to (in this case, I choose Personal Calendar, but it doesn't matter what calendar I choose, the results are the same). - I then tap "Done" in upper right corner - Card disappears - Event never shows up on calendar, and never syncs back to the cloud (Google, in this case, but could be iCloud, Outlook.com or Exchange) Screenshot ----- My screenshot (not working) Detail (Wife's device) ----- When she receives a meeting invitation (from same source), the same .ics attachment appears. When tapping on that attachment, she is presented with a card that has "Accept", "Maybe", and "Decline" at the bottom. - Her name appears in the invite list with a green "checkmark" - Tapping "Accept" immediately adds the event to her calendar (visible in iOS Calendar app as well as web version of Google Calendar Screenshot ----- Wife's screenshot... working as expected Troubleshooting ----- - Performed a full factory reset and set up device AS NEW (not restored) - Deleted and re-added iOS Mail application - Installed Gmail application from App Store (to determine if that application provided different sync functionality to default iOS apps) - Installed Outlook app from App Store (Outlook RSVP also didn't work on any calendar) - INTERESTING NOTE: If Siri detects an event in the email message and I tap on the small bar at the top that says "Siri found 1 event", it WILL add to my calendar. I am at a loss as to what could be different on my device or account that is preventing my Mail and Calendar from behaving as they should, and it is creating issue with meeting invites accepted while traveling. I have to actually accept on a laptop OR hope Siri finds an event and tap that to add it to the calendar. Any help you all could provide would be appreciated! Regards

We use Mac / calendar / iCloud here at my company for time management. In my personal life, I use google Calendar. So I import my google calendar into my Mac Calendar. This works great, I can see all my events in one place. Problem: other people cannot see when I am busy on my personal calendar. The "Check Availability" option shows me as available during the times I have personal events. Here is a screenshot showing a concrete example. The blue event "PERSONAL EVENT" from 12PM to 1PM is my personal event. In the screenshot I am creating a new "WORK EVENT" from 2PM to 3PM. **You can see in the "Check Availability" window that my availability does not include the personal event. Why?** enter image description here I found a setting in the imported calendar named "Event affects availability". It was already checked. The name makes me think that the imported calendar should already be affecting availability? But it is not. enter image description here Is there any way for me to indicate that I'm busy for my imported Google events on my Apple Mac Calendar?

Is there any way to import reminders created in Google Calendar to ANY of the available free app in macOS Big Sur? Ideally it would be nice to have a sync feature as well but I would be happy with just a single-time import from Google Calendar for reminders so that all future reminders can be created in the suggested app. I am pretty sure that the native Reminders doesn't do that and neither does the Calendar app.

I am trying to write a PHP service to make calendars from some data. Anyway, the example it returns (it is static during the test) shows up normally when trying to get it by http://my_domain.com/ics.php or just to download response as an .ics file (location, URL, description, alert fields have been shown properly, I can save it on my device or CalDAV/Cloud server), so the iCS syntax is OK. But when I try to subscribe to it through webcal://my_domain.com/ics.php, its events do not show up on my Calendar timeline (although I can still see it in the "Calendars" sections and even "refresh" it). When refreshing it, the events still can't be seen, but the server notices the request to my_domain.com/ics.php. I tried: - Rebooting the device & server - Making a static .ics file and subscribing to it - Adding response headers like Content-type: text/calendar and Content-disposition: attachment; filename=index.ics - Disabling iCloud & Google Calendars accounts on the device - Generating another event in the calendar And nothing above helped. The subscribition works on Microsoft Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird on Windows 10 device. On my i-device there was another public subscribed calendar, but it also did not worked. The example of generated ICS can be watched here . What should I change to make it subscribed and shown properly? I will appreciate any provided help! Added: now when accessing through webcal:// safari responses that "Can't opent the page because it is invalid"

I'm trying to migrate my custom domain email from Zoho to iCloud+ and everything went smoothly (in terms of mail) until I got stuck with the calendar. I don't get event invites (only notifications in the email) in the calendar macOS/iOS app at all for mynamemail@icloud.com, myaliasmail@icloud.com, mail@mydomain.com It feels like it should work out of the box, but it doesn't. I also found the same kind of questions (but not so many to suspect that everybody has it), but no answers: - Calendar invitations don’t appear in the Calendar Inbox - iCloud problem? (MacPowerUsers.com) - Custom email domain & calendar invitations (Reddit) I'm not sure a reboot helps because it's happening on both the phone and the laptop simultaneously. Extra note: I downloaded custom calendar, added iCloud CalDav there and it doesn't sync too. Feels like it's iCloud's issue

My problem is not this or this . Error message: "*There was an error saving ical data. Calendar App encountered a critical error while saving to the database, and recent changes may be lost. More information may be available in the console.*" It is very similar to this question . However my console log has such entries: 09.11.15 11:54:53,484 CalendarAgent: CoreData: XPC: Token mismatch 09.11.15 11:54:53,485 suggestd: [com.apple.calendar.store.log.notifications] [There was an error when fetching NOBOs for principals: (Local) (error: Error Domain=NSCocoaErrorDomain Code=134095 "(null)" UserInfo={Problem=request failed, store identifier mismatch})] 09.11.15 11:54:53,488 CalendarAgent: CoreData: XPC: Token mismatch 09.11.15 11:54:53,489 suggestd: [com.apple.calendar.store.log.notifications] [There was an error when fetching NOBOs for calendars: () (error: Error Domain=NSCocoaErrorDomain Code=134095 "(null)" UserInfo={Problem=request failed, store identifier mismatch})] When I setup my exchange account, first sync works good but after init sync it does not work anymore and I get this error. Well, when I deactivate my Exchange cal, delete all cache files and activate it again, it syncs for one time and then again not. But this is not a solution. It seems like a bug - but I am not sure what to do now. Busycal costs 50€ and since Calendar.app is with Mac OS X, I thought they might fix this issue soon?

I see that Gmail app parsed the event info, but even with Google Calendar installed I can not do anything with it. I have these options in Gmail app on Android. Why is that and is there another easy option to import this event without Apple Mail? It's Google who did not code this feature or Apple's restriction? I have an endpoint that generates a .ics file. From my mobile app, I open the browser (Safari) and retrieve the .ics file. In Safari, the events are displayed as expected, and I can use the "Add All" button to add them to the calendar. After clicking "Add All," I can select the desired calendar, and the events are successfully added (see screenshots 1 and 2 below). Here’s the initial .ics file response:

UID:unique-uid2
LAST-MODIFIED:20250101T155715Z
DESCRIPTION:Description
SEQUENCE:1
END:VEVENT
END:VCALENDAR
enter image description here enter image description here Later, I updated the .ics file with new event details:
BEGIN:VCALENDAR
VERSION:2.0
CALSCALE:GREGORIAN

BEGIN:VEVENT
DTSTAMP:20250102T195917Z

LAST-MODIFIED:20250102T155715Z
DESCRIPTION:Description

END:VEVENT
END:VCALENDAR
I updated everything according to the iCalendar documentation: - UID remained unchanged - SEQUENCE has been updated - DTSTAMP has been updated - LAST-MODIFIED has been updated enter image description here Then I call the endpoint again, and receive the new .ics file. However it seems like that Safari can't handle updates on events. In the preview we can see the changes, but when I click on "Add All" button, nothing happens. The same behavior is working with other calendars like Outlook (web view) or Google Calendar. If I add a completely new event to the .ics file, that is working fine, the issue is with updating an existing one. I chose this implementation over downloading the .ics file and opening it on the iPhone because my understanding is that's not possible: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/253646020 I wonder if a property is missing from my .ics file that is necessary for iOS Safari to handle updates or perhaps Safari was not designed to handle event updates in this way. If this button only handles the adding and not the updating, could I move to a subscription-based solution to manage updates more reliably?

In Apple's Calendar app, it is not always possible to delete future events as a group. It seems to consistently be possible when I create a repeating event on my own calendar, but apparently not possible when I have accepted a meeting invitation. Here's the response when I try to delete an event I created: <img src=" class="img-fluid rounded" style="max-width: 100%; height: auto; margin: 10px 0;" loading="lazy"> But here's a failure on Apple's part to give me that ability: <img src=" class="img-fluid rounded" style="max-width: 100%; height: auto; margin: 10px 0;" loading="lazy"> Both give me the option to only delete the individual event, but only one gives me the option to delete future (and _not past_) events. Is there any way around this? Is there anyway I can delete only future meetings, without spending hours and hours doing them individually?
