For my case, MBP desktop,
- reminders for first pop up (say 15 mins) and then when snoozed to (say) 5 mins before are normally on time (when pop up shows, the time on the URH corner is still the same, say 9:45, 9:55)
- however, it is the the final reminder at the time of the event that constantly show up late, range from 50 seconds to 1.5 minutes (when pop up shows, the time on the URH corner is almost always at least a minute late, say 10:01+)
- and today, the final reminder show up one hour late

How can I use it with jq to add a new entry with desired attribute? I tried the following

reminders add "$list" -f json $json_string
but does not work: it puts the json string as "title".
I prefer reminders-cli to Apple Script or Javascript, and I would love to use json and jq to make my script more tidy, compared to others reminders-cli flag and argument.

My wife and I both have iPhone SEs, and iPad minis (original Retina version). Our phones are updated to the latest iOS 14 version, but the mini cannot go past 12.x. This means the minis are no longer able to see shared reminders *at all*. We use(d) these all the time in the past, and have quite a few shared reminders lists between us. This has rendered our iPads essentially useless for this application.
From what I'm reading, there is no actual solution here, it's as designed by Apple and basically they would expect us to toss the old hardware and buy something newer. Given that this is an unacceptable "solution" in my eyes...
Are there any 3rd party list-sharing-capable apps that will work on iOS 12.x, iOS 14.x, and macOSes as far back as Sierra (we also have some old macs that can't update further but are otherwise perfectly suited to our needs)?
EDIT: To add to this, I just realized that even our iPhones can no longer access shared reminders! Nor can my MBP I just updated to Catalina. WTF!? How can we get our shared reminders/lists back again??

iCloud seems to have my old iPhones reminders even though I have iCloud turned on for reminders on new phone. I only know this because I opened iCloud reminders from my PC for the first time in several years and found the problem.
If I turn iCloud off and back on though my phone settings it says it will delete all local reminders and refresh from iCloud which is useless to me.
Is there a way to sync *from* my iPhone up to the cloud so the cloud reflects the current reminders app contents?

I use one iCloud account for my private use (mainly on my phone) and one for work (on my Macbook Pro with Monterey). I however want to use Reminders to use both accounts, so I could see all my working reminders on my private phone and all my private reminders on my working computer. I've already done the same for Calendar but for reminders it seems different. On my Internet Accounts settings page there is no Reminders.
Am I missing something? Is there a way I can use 2 iCloud accounts in the Reminders?

The trouble is, automating a text with a calendar alert works but always sends as me, to me. Which means no sound is triggered. I've even set my custom text tone and it doesn't matter, no sound will ever trigger.
Is there any way to have a text message sent in Messages from my mac, to my phone, trigger a sound on the phone?

Worse, this same script takes only 2-3 seconds when run from within the ScriptEditor and I’d like that level of performance when the script runs itself.
# Find all Reminders whose name contains "Alumni"
set findMe to "Alumni"
set answer to "Maches: "
tell application "Reminders"
set names to name of every reminder
end tell
repeat with name in names
if name contains findMe then
set answer to answer & " --- " & name
end if
end repeat
return answer
I've run this script two ways from the command line: As a compiled script:
osascript testReminders2.scrpt
and as a text file: ./testReminders2.applescript
(where this file begins with #! /usr/bin/osascript
. Both versions take about the same amount of time.
Os there a more efficient way to iterate over Reminders using AppleScript?

Ideally it would be nice to have a sync feature as well but I would be happy with just a single-time import from Google Calendar for reminders so that all future reminders can be created in the suggested app.
I am pretty sure that the native Reminders doesn't do that and neither does the Calendar app.

Is there any way to trigger some sort of action, automation, Shortcut, or webhook, *whenever a new Reminder is added*?
In particular, I'm looking for a method that doesn't require interacting with the phone. There's quite a few possible workarounds if you're willing to, say, go through a multiple call-and-response w/ a Shortcut; or run a syncing automation when you open/close the Reminders app … but none of those are robust enough for my use-case. (I'd like to sync/react to Siri's one-sentence handling of "remember to …" and "remind me to …" on Homepods.)
I'm willing to install third-party apps, and potentially even pay for a service, if it's light enough / cheap enough / flexible enough.

This Apple KB article implies that one can create new reminders lists, edit details of reminders set as alert time, change folders of reminders, etc.
https://support.apple.com/kb/PH12088?locale=en_US
However, I don't see any of these options. I can add new reminders and edit notes, but I can't do any of the other things it states.
Is the iCloud reminders web interface neutered now? I don't have the "+ at the top" the article refers to.
As far as I can see, the only things I can do on the iCloud web site are:
- add remidners
- add/modify notes on reminders
- change list colors/appearance
- show/hide completed
I don't think there are any other possible functions - ?
Was hoping to use iCloud on the web as an interim since the macOS desktop reminders app won't sync with iCloud until Catalina.
Here is a screen shot taken on macOS Mojave with Safari 13.0.1...looks the same in the current version of Chrome for macOS as well:

I have reminders on my iPhone (which also pop up on my MacBook) to remind me to take medication at set times in the day.
I am currently traveling and would like the reminders to pop up at the same relative time, whichever time zone I am in. For example a reminder for 8:00am in my home time zone should still show at 8:00am in the time zone I'm currently in.
However the reminders are still showing relative to my home time zone, so currently my 8:00am reminders are showing at 3:00am.
How can I tell the reminders to show at the correct time in the current time zone? I know I can manually update each one, but I am hoping there is an automatic way (without leaving my iPhone/MacBook in my home time zone).
If it's device dependent - I would focus on my iPhone as I don't need the reminders on the MacBook.

How can I have Calendar use an Alarm Clock reminderalarm for alerts?
I used Samsung Galaxy 6 for couple of years. I loved that in the Clock you can use the Alarm and set not only time of alarm but also the date. I used Samsung Galaxy 6 for couple of years. I loved that in the Clock you can use the Alarm and set not only time of alarm but also the date. For example, if you want to watch a game that was 4 days from now at 11AM, you could set your alarm 4 days and 3 hours from now.
It would ring your standard alarm sound until you stop it, even if it takes 7 minutes for you to stop it. So it was loud, consistent, and it would not stop sounding the alarm until you stopped it.
On iPhone I can set the alarm only 23.59 hours in advance. I cannot set it a few days ahead because I cannot select a date, just the time.
If I use Reminders or Calendar I can set it on any day in the future but the alarm sounds that I choose will only sound once or, max, twice. I know, I tried them all.
If I am in machine shop and I can't hear first alert, I'm screwed because that reminder is gone. If I go to restroom and my calendar or reminder beeps, I am screwed again. I missed sound and it wont beep again.
Often during the week I have different waking times, 5 on Monday and 6 on Tuesday and then 7.30 on Friday so why I cannot set Alarm on my iPhone to ring at any time on any day of the month in advance?
Is there anything that can simply perform all these functions?
- Setting an alarm on any future date
- Setting any time on that date
- Alarm continues to sound until manually stopped?

Is there a way to get reminders on iPhone to persist until they're checked?
I find reminders pretty useless because once you're reminded once it doesn't remind you ever again, even if you haven't completed the task yet. It would actually be useful if every time I looked at my phone it displayed the reminder until I completed it.
