Currently I use iCloud+ custom email domain for my personal email, say me@personal-domain.com. I remember reading somewhere that, while you can add extra domains and aliases, they all forward to the same iCloud account. You can sort them to different mailboxes using rules, but ultimately, all mails are stored under a single account. Now a situation has come up: my wife and her business partner have a small business for which they have registered a custom domain, used only for emails (no web page hosting). There are two email accounts, say wife@business-domain.com and partner@business-domain.com, and no expectation of needing more accounts in the future. Initially they were set up with a DreamHost introductory offer for 3 years, but it's expiring this month, and the renewal price is way higher than that introductory offer, so we're looking to move it somewhere else cheaper. Ideally, we would like to have three iCloud accounts (one for me, one for my wife and one for her business partner), so we could forward me@personal-domain.com to my iCloud account, wife@business-domain.com to my wife's iCloud account, and partner@business-domain.com to the business partner's iCloud account. I'm not comfortable with e.g. her business partner being able to peruse through my personal emails -- in that case we would rather pay for a separate service for their business domain. Question: is it possible to somehow forward these three separate emails (one on my personal domain, two on the business domain) to three separate iCloud accounts? Perhaps using Family Sharing?

We currently have the accounts 1. {my name}@{custom domain}, associated with my iCloud account, and 2. {spouse's name}@{custom domain}, associated with their iCloud account. We also want to setup something like {family}@{custom domain} (accessible by both iCloud accounts!) for certain accounts that we want easy joint access to. Is there a way to do this? I see how to associate such an account with solely my iCloud account, or solely theirs, but not both of ours.

I have a custom domain (ravnand.dk) where I have migrated emails to iCloud+ This appears to work nicely, but it seems that all the iCloud related mails end in the same inbox in the Mail app which I do not want as I use the non-custom iCloud account for other unrelated things. I would like my iPhone to treat my custom emails as a separate account similar to how it worked when I was using another provider. I did not immediately see any help pages describing this when browsing the iCloud+ documentation. How should I approach this?

Why every app that is using iCloud Drive is stuck on iPadOS 17.4.1?

I have been having this kind of issue since Friday evening (2024.04.05). It all started with the Files app not responding (not showing deleted/updated/downloaded... files), then it propagated to other apps. Every app using iCloud Drive as its base is opening with a blank browser screen (the left-side bar is usually there, but unclickable). Now Files, PDF Viewer, Numbers, GoodNotes, ..., everything I tried that works with iCloud Drive opens to a blank screen, nothing else. After a while the app in question crashes—but not consistently. I tried to launch Mail, Safari, Acrobat, ... they all work well and as expected. I uninstalled the Files app, and then reinstalled it. No change. Force restart or ordinary shut-down, turn-on procedures make the system work for maybe a minute, but not always (at the moment of writing, 2024.04.08, that brings to nothing). Then everything is blocked again. I believe something happened with the outage Apple servers received last week, but my Mac and iPhone are working more than fine, and no file appears to be missing from iCloud Drive accessed on the web or on iPhone/Mac. I tried the following steps: 1. Deactivate iCloud Drive for specific apps. Some improved, others didn't. 2. Reinstall iPadOS by downloading the restore image from the Developer portal, then Option-click on Update in Finder, forcing a reinstall of the current iPadOS. GoodNotes restored functionality, other apps didn't. The Files app keeps not being able to access iCloud Drive in a sync'd state. 3. Deactivate iCloud Drive on iPad. Restart the iPad. All apps resumed working normally. After reactivating iCloud Drive and waiting for most files to appear in the Files app view, I tried again. Everything but GoodNotes is once more opening on a blank screen. In the Files app, the user-created folders appeared, but trying to access them makes the spinning wheel appear on them, and one gets to nothing. 4. Log-out of Apple ID and restart the iPad. Verified once more that Numbers, Pages, etc... work as expected when there is no connection to Apple servers for their files. Logged-in, waited for files to download. Blocked once more. At this point I highly doubt that a full restore would improve anything, since the iPad is working just fine for everything except for apps that use iCloud Drive. I will surely call Apple Support is this doesn't get solved by today, but I would like to hear from you if you have any suggestion on the matter. Thank you so much.

I use macOS's Mail app and have iCloud+. I have two mail addresses - my usual iCloud address and another through a custom domain that I own, that maps back to the iCloud account (something which is only possible with iCloud+ ) Incoming mail for both addresses appear in my iCloud inbox. No real problem. When composing outgoing mail I can select the sending address from the drop down in the "From" field. Also no problem. I have set up two mail signatures, one intended for mail sent from the iCloud address, the other for mail sent from the custom address. When composing, both signatures are available from the "Signature" drop down. All good. I want to have Mail select the correct signature according to the "From" address. If I change the selected "From" address, the selected signature should also change. Is this possible? The challenge seems to be that the configuration of Mail, iCloud+ and the custom domain results in Mail thinking that there is only one account (in Mail/Settings/Accounts ) which is the iCloud one. My two signatures are both associated with that one account, although they are intended different for sending addresses. Mail sees that the sending account is iCloud and seems unable to select a signature by sending address. Is there a way around this using AppleScript or other tool? In Mail/Settings/Rules I have made the rule: If From is equal to albert_eynstein@icloud.com , Run this applescript tell application "Mail" set theMsg to (get first outgoing message) set message signature of theMsg to signature "albert" end tell and I have a signature called albert, and another rule and script that should do the same for the custom address. The script itself works, but Mail's rules seem to be only work on incoming mail and not outgoing. Result: Neither of the rules and the scripts get triggered. Is there a way to get mail to run a script on changing the sending address? Or other way to set the signature by sending address? Mac OS 13.2.1 , Mail 16.0

Why are some websites in Safari not going through iCloud Private Relay?

Ever since upgrading to iOS 17 I have gotten this warning on certain websites: > **This Connection Is Not Private** > > iCloud Private Relay is unable to hide your IP address from this site. > By continuing to "[SITE NAME]" your IP address will be revealed. > >Show IP Address / Close Page When I go to the same site(s) on a Mac running Ventura, the site loads without any warning, and the option to "Reload and Show IP Address" in the View tab of Safari does not appear for those websites. In addition, one of those sites shows the IP Address I am using, and it's my "original" IP address - not an iCloud Private Relay one. Why do certain sites not load through iCloud Private Relay? Update: I found sites will load outside Private Relay without warning. Some sites will make the initial connection via Private Relay, but randomly go "outside" the service mid-browsing and lose the Private Relay privacy protections without warning. My concern is that sites can exploit this vulnerability by embedding a "non-Private-Relay" domain or site in their existing site, giving the site access to a user's IP address without warning.

I am considering migrating from Google Workspace to iCloud+. On the email front, I have a domain and I use *"plus addressing"* in my Google managed email addresses. For example, one user account email address is joebloe@mydomain.com, and I use joebloe+tag@mydomain.com to receive emails from some services into joebloe@mydomain.com mailbox. I'm wondering if iCloud+ supports the +tag syntax for custom domains, similar to Google Workspace or Microsoft365. I've seen some people mention using iCloud+'s aliasing feature to achieve a similar result, but I have too many tags to map them all in this way. I also have a catch-all feature set up, but this would not work for me because I have multiple users on the domain using the +tag syntax and I don't want emails for janedoe+tag@mydomain.com to go to joebloe@mydomain.com - they should go to janedoe@mydomain.com instead.

Recently macOS Mail has been unable to load content privately enter image description here As far as I know, I have not changed any of my settings, but wish to have the privacy option on enter image description here I also have Private Relay turned on in iCloud Preferences enter image description here This has become quite annoying as Little Snitch trips every time a new email comes in enter image description here It may be a coincidence, but around the same time this started happening I switched my ISP to Spectrum. Nobody else in my household is experiencing this problem; it is happening to just me but on both my laptop and my desktop machine.
