Is there any way to make the iPad or an iPad app work exclusively with the Apple Pencil and *not* recognize touch? My issue is with notability specifically, I basically use the iPad for note-taking and "palm detection" fails a lot. I've tried multiple apps and they all fail at some point given some circumstances, so I was wondering if there's a way to make the app ignore the touch input and work only with the Pencil. I've tried Guided Access but then I can't use the pencil either...

I have a 1st gen iPad mini A1454 running iOS 9.3.6 and I would like to know what my options are when choosing a stylus. I know that Apple Pencil and compatible products will definitely not work, but that leaves both Bluetooth styluses and universal ones as options. Bluetooth styluses should work with select apps that support them (I have Brushes Redux installed). However, in an answer to a [similar question](https://discussions.apple.com/thread/250921893) someone writes that there's also apparently a minimum Bluetooth version required to support those, which an older iPad may not have the hardware for. However, I am struggling to find any information about this and in general, searching for answers on this topic has been really exhausting. Does my iPad support Bluetooth stylii and what stylus would you recommend?

If I insert a line of text above my highlights, the text shifts but the ink highlights don’t. Is there a way to use the text highlighting on the Home tab with the Apple Pencil? When I try, I can select the text highlight tool with the Apple Pencil, but when I try to use it, it draws ink when I try to highlight text. Or is there a way to get the ink to shift with text if I insert lines without having to jump through hoops?

I frequently need to take notes and write equations. I never draw any thing other than graphs, diagrams, etc.. like board works. I am not a painter. I bought an Adobe Ink for my iPad (not iPad pro). Tried to use in one of the Adobe softwares. It looks like that is very good to paint or sketch. But when I try to write some equation, often it jumbles up with subscript notations. It applies its intelligence to turn my x into n. iPad's own notes app works slightly better. Instead Microsoft Onenote works much better. But still even with onenote things don't work to my expectation. I thought I would be able to take notes straight away. But it is nothing close to that smoothness. If I write very slowly ike painting letters on the board then it somewhat works. Should I change my stylus for a better experience ? Are these styluses optimized only for painting ? What budget stylus is good for writing and taking notes ? Or if it is more or less same for all stylus then I would not bother buying another one.

I have a Targus stylus for my iPad, with a rubber tip. This tip, however, does not move smoothly over the glass on the iPad, but seems to have too high friction. It didn't have this when I bought it, and I also have a different stylus that is much smaller, also with a rubber tip, that still moves smoothly over the glass. The large one, however, gets "stuck" on the screen. Not like glue "stuck", just doesn't move as smoothly as I'd like. What tricks can I use to get it back to how it was when I bought it? Has it accrued fat from my fingers or something like that I can wash off, or are there other things I can do? Has anyone experienced this and solved it?

I prefer to take notes and design code by hand. There are several good apps (Penultimate, Readability, Noteshelf, etc.), but they all seem to lack something I really wish they had: the ability to add space in the middle of the document, between lines. Most or all of the handwriting apps I've used have a selection tool, but none of them allow you to insert text in the middle of the document. As an example, imagine you've handwritten this list: - First - Second - Fourth Oops: you forgot to write "Third." You tell the app to add space between Second and Fourth (which pushes the rest of the document down). Then you add it such that the list now looks like this: - First - Second - Third - Fourth Does anyone know of an app that affords this?

Is there open source or free software to use my touchpad as absolute touch?
I'm running OS X Yosemite, and don't want to spend money on a Wacom tablet. Is there free software or code that can disable the acceleration of the touchpad so I can write effectively with a stylus?

Screen Sensitivity of the retina display iPad (3rd generation). Is it better than before?
Does the new iPad support higher resolution tapping, or just more pixels for display. Stylii and the existing iPad feel like writing with a big marker on a big index card. Will the new iPad feel more like pen-and-paper **when using a stylus**?

Is there such a thing as a iPad stylus with a (relatively) fine and hard nib?

The other pens I've seen all seem to have a similar design - presumably to make the nib appear to the iPad as a finger. I understand pressure sensitivity isn't going to be an option but a relatively hard nib would make it a lot easier to 'write' on the iPad.

Is my iPad not accurate enough or is it the stylus?

I tried using it with the Wacom notebook app, and the handwriting is a teensy bit too large to work as well as a real live "dead tree" notebook. At the moment, the app feels like a wide ruled notebook, and I'd love to be able to write as much as a college ruled notebook. Is the problem the tip of the sponge on my styli, or is it the resolution of the iPad? What can I do to improve the accuracy, so that I can fit more handwritten text on the page?
