MS Outlook, MS Word, Mac Text Edit, Mac Notes - all work as I'd like. What would cause OneNote to respond with an error beep as compared to the other apps? I don't have any custom key mappings in system/keyboard setup for OneNote. MacOS: 12.3.1 MacBook Pro M1, 14"

I’m trying to highlight typed text on my iPad in OneNote with an Apple Pencil. I am able to do this with the highlighter option on the Draw tab, but the highlights are ink. If I insert a line of text above my highlights, the text shifts but the ink highlights don’t. Is there a way to use the text highlighting on the Home tab with the Apple Pencil? When I try, I can select the text highlight tool with the Apple Pencil, but when I try to use it, it draws ink when I try to highlight text. Or is there a way to get the ink to shift with text if I insert lines without having to jump through hoops?

iPad Air 5th Gen gets massively hot while using ANY notetaking app and Apple Pencil 2
iPad Air 5th gen gets massively hot and drains battery, when using just any note taking app and Apple Pencil. Even if I do not have any Note taking app active, when I just attach the Pencil to the side (connected to iPad), the iPad gets very hot and drains battery. Is this normal for iPad?

I was using OneNote for Mac, and created 30+ folders and content. I have an iMac with Time Machine backup. I took my iMac to a computer shop and got an upgrade to my hard drive. When the computer was returned, all of the programs worked, with the exception of OneNote, the One Note App icon bounced up and down and did not open. I spoke to a technician who said folders should be in the OneDrive cloud, but after checking the OneNote cloud, none of these folders where there. The technician recommended I remove OneNote for Mac, and re-install. I did, and OneNote worked, but none of my previously created folders appeared. Next I tried to go into the Time Machine, back in time, and see the ~/Library/Containers/com.microsfot.onenote.mac files from different dates. I copied a version and tried to replace the currently working com.microsoft.onenote.mac file with the version from TimeMachine, but when I did this and re-ran OneNote, the OneNote for Mac App icon returned to bouncing up and down, and had to be force quit, removed, then reinstalled. Has anyone had this problem with OneNote for Mac and been able to successfully recover and recreate their folder structure and content? Does anyone know how I can recover the OneNote folders that I created before taking my computer to the shop? Is it possible for me to use a version of OneNote that will read these folders and import them back into OneNote? I put a lot of information into this folders and really want to be able to view them and their content in One Note, again.

Following these instructions I closed the Notebook in *OneNote for Mac* (version 16.52), renamed the Notebook in *OneDrive* and re-opened the renamed Notebook in *OneNote for Mac*. Unfortunately the rename is ignored by *OneNote for Mac* and then the synchronisation fails immediately after opening as the Notebooks are inconsistently named. Sync error: > This section might have been deleted from the server. You can try to sync this section again, or copy your notes to another section. I have tried to open the Notebook in *OneNote online*: the Notebook opens correctly and shows the correct new name. I have deleted the Microsoft OneNote container in my user Library, plus any other reference I could find in my user Library related to Microsoft OneNote. I have tried closing the Notebook in *OneNote for Mac*, opening in *OneNote online*, make changes in the Notebook so that it forces a synchronisation, and then re-opening the Notebook in *OneNote for Mac*. The update made in *OneNote online* shows on the Mac, however changes on the Mac are not synchronised back to the online repository of the Notebook due to above error.

This is what happened: I upgraded my passwords on different services, including Microsoft's, which I only use it to work with OneNote. As expected, all apps with login changes asked me to re-login, no issues there. Except with OneNote. I've been using OneNote in this MBP Sierra for a long time without any problem. It prompted me it couldn't sync with the cloud, understandably, and asked for the correct login info, so I did like I did with other apps. But here's what happens: enter image description here I enter my e-mail, click Next: enter image description here And that's all she wrote. I can't put in a password; it gets stuck there forever. I've tried reinstalling; reinstalling with a mac reboot in between; uninstall, update everything and install back... Always cleaning the plist's, cache's, etc. with CleanMyMac. No luck. It's the only office product I use. And it gets stuck whatever I write as the username. I can log online fine. But OneNote in local is stuck. I've talked to the "Office support team" on the chat, and then over the phone, to no avail. The phone assistant who was supposed to be the last resort could only tell me to sign out and in again, having missed that I'm not logged in. Well, they did give me a link to prior versions, same problem. So I'm thinking something's fishy with my mac. I've observed weird behavior from the Console. At the beginning you could tell the thing was in a loop: enter image description here After reinstalling back the newest version again, I see this: enter image description here But then it goes back to the last capture with green arrows. Reading "keychain" there made me think maybe OneNote has always stored the password there (I don't recall, honestly) and it has some meltdown because it's not a valid password anymore. So I opened the Keychain app and found one instance of "OneNote" with the password "M" (??). Weird. I deleted that entry... and it's still stuck the way you see it from the captures. What can I do? Are there any caches or files I should do something with? It's still seemingly prompting the keychain...
