Simulating screen touches with key presses on iPad
I would like to know if it's possible to simulate a screen tap with key presses from a Bluetooth keyboard on an iPad. Kind of like Bluestacks does it. I wouldn't mind it being an app from the App Store. Any ideas?

I think this started when I updated to iOS 18.
When I wake the phone and tap an app icon toward the upper left portion of the screen, the apps move slightly to the right instead of launching the app. It's like the apps are scrolling away from the tap target. If I touch the screen very slowly, I can sometimes get the touch to open the app correctly.
This behavior is temporarily fixed by using the right side button to turn the screen off and then back on again.
Currently running 18.3.2. I have already tried erasing all content and settings. No effect.

I had a similar problem with my Windows laptop, but there is a setting for which screen the touch input is executed on. I couldn't find anything similar for Mac. Anybody got any tips?

Without arrow keys I end up fumbling around trying to touch with my finger the exact place in the text where the cursor should go, but since my finger is the diameter of 2.5 lines of text, this is a trial and error process.

How to rotate the touch input on an external touchscreen connected to a Macbook Pro?

I am trying to connect an [external touchscreen](https://www.waveshare.com/product/displays/lcd-oled/lcd-oled-1/5.5inch-hdmi-amoled.htm) to a Macbook Pro (Mid 2015, macOS Mojave version 10.14.6). The touch input and the screen works, but by default the orientation of both of them is vertical. I need them to be horizontal.
I can easily change the orientation of the screen (following the steps [described here](https://apple.stackexchange.com/a/101914/373357)) , but while the screen is rotated, the touch input stays vertical - so e.g. when I swipe left to right, the cursor moves up-down.
I tried searching any mentions of similar problems and I went through all preferences, but I could not find anything related to my issue. Anyone experienced something similar?
FWIW, I am connecting the screen using hdmi, and the touch input is connected via USB.

IOS 5.1.1 Safemode problem

I jailbroke my old iPod Touch 3rd Generation, with IOS 5.1.1, using the latest version of absynthe. It worked for several months, but then it randomly stopped. It went into safe mode, but the touch screen wouldn't work. It showed the lockscreen, but nothing worked at all, except for the physical buttons. The only way to reboot is to follow the same steps as DFU mode (Hold power button 3 sec, then home button AND power for 10, then just home for 8)... However, it always boots right back into Safe mode.
I had to restore, and once rejailbroken, it worked fine, until I installed SBsettings. Then it did the EXACT same thing, and I had to restore and re-jailbreak AGAIN! The other day, I finished installing ALL of my extensive list of tweaks, and got it to about where I wanted it, when lo and behold, it booted to safe mode again. I have spent so much time on this, and I do not want to do it again. Does anybody here have any knowledge on the topic? Is there a program I can run from my computer to manually control the device or kick it out of safe mode? Is there some other method of doing this? I am looking for any solution OTHER than restoring. I have done that several times.
Also, I know the problem isn't with my jailbreak. It worked for several months before, then one day stopped. Now, it has the problem within a day of rejailbreaking, OR instantly if I install SBsettings. I re-installed the jailbreak, and applied the new one as well, and that didn't work. I have given up, and don't want to go through the painful process of restoring, rejailbreaking, and re-installing all of those tweaks again.
Also, because I can't get into my iPod, I can't provide a list of tweaks. I would if I could, but it just can't happen unless I can get in there.

Surprisingly, the ipod still works: It charges the battery, it displays icons and streams music - but the touchscreen doesn't react at all. I just found it in a forgotten drawer when house cleaning.
Can the screen be repaired, preferably by someone who is fearless but has very moderate hardware and repair skills?
Or is there any other way than touch by which I can operate the device?
Meanwhile I found that I can buy LCD replacement and LCD plus digitizer replacement parts. Should I assume that the digitizer is broken?

So, naturally, I'd want to carry this experience over to the Mac. I've used a Macbook/MBP trackpad, but those aren't the same. They are not nearly as large and usable as a full touchscreen.
So: Does the Mac support touch screens in any way?

My iPhone 5 touchscreen is not responding to touch! Last night, my phone was working just fine. I plugged it in overnight to charge, and when I checked my phone this morning, the touchscreen had broken.
Here's what's going wrong now:
- The touchscreen isn't responding (I can't slide to unlock), though the screen *is* on.
- There are a bunch of lines on the screen, which disappear after the phone stays on for a few seconds or when I click the sleep/wake button.
The power button and home button are working as they should, I just can't get past the lock screen because I can't swipe to unlock (it's not registering the swipe or any taps).
What can I do to fix this?

What other materials, apart from flesh, can you use to interact with an iPhone Touchscreen?
The other day I was in my car and though I'm a little unsure about what candy bar wrapper I used but I believe I moved my screen using a candy bar wrapper. I'm told an iPhone has a Capacitance Touch Screen which is different from earlier models of touch screen which relied on clicking or something else, but it's clearly not the same thing.
Using the old screens you could use a paper clip or whatever to interact with the phone, but with an iPhone it's the tip of your finger, and apparently a few other materials.
In particular I'm interested in being able to tap with it.

Lately, I've noticed that my iPad's touch screen feels sticky to touch which makes it difficult to swipe in a smooth motion (particular when several swipes in quick succession have to be done in quick succession). As I don't use a screen protector, I initially suspected that this could be due to the build up of oils on the screen but wiping the screen with a microfiber cloth (even with a damp one) does little to help the problem.
The device is 4 months old at the time of writing; the screen should still be in reasonable shape. What could be the problem here and what can I do to fix it?

My wife's iPad 2 is having a weird screen/touch issues.
In a particular part of the screen (near the middle bottom on the left side if holding in portrait with the home button down), it just doesn't respond to touch, most of the time.
Some things we saw were:
* can not move icons above a fake 'line' on the screen, they just drop back to where they were or near by
* When using a drawing app, you just would not get lines here (Paper actually thought it was more inputs, and kept doing that redo gesture)
* Maps just stutters when you hit that point, but works fine
The area seems to move/grow/contract, which is really odd. I feel like this is due to touch response in the app we are using, as in, icons on springboard are aligned to a grid, maps doesn't expect constant input, etc.
At one point, the display seemed to loose its mind. It was registering multiple taps, responding to taps in areas we didn't tap, etc.
I tried restoring the device, but that did not fix it.
I figure this is a hardware issue, but not knowing too much about screens on the iPad, what would have to be replaced? Most of my searches just say 'take it to the Apple store', but I am looking to see what would have to be replaced and how much it would be, to determine if it would be worth repairing or just replacing.
**Update:** Here is a video (not mine) that has almost the exact same issue http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=797bfjbEEi8
