Cpu frequency keep going down by it's own

I am experiencing problems with Samsung Galaxy Note 2.
- Build number(ROM): DN4 v2.1
- Baseband version: N7100NEUFND1
- Android version: 4.4.4
- Kernel: AGNI KERNEL (March 29,2015)
---
I have overclocked CPU from 1.6 GHZ to 2.0 GHZ and I use SetCPU app to control CPU values like:
* When screen is off, change governor to **Ondemand** with min and max frequencies at 200 MHZ and 400 MHZ.
* When screen is on, change governor to **Performance** with min and max frequencies at 1000 MHZ and 1800 MHZ.
The problem is that now whenever I set the values, the values drops down to 1200 MHZ and goes down to 500 MHZ gradually. Mostly, it stays stuck at 1000 MHZ causing the device to lag especially while gaming.
Previously, I experienced problems with all other governors except **Performance, Pegasusq and Powersaver**, even when I set the Max value to 1.8 GHZ it somehow restricted the Max frequency to 1.2 GHZ. Now I think this has affected all the governors.
I have also updated my kernel but the problem persists.
Any solutions?

The SetCPU promo video only shows how the MHz numbers jump up and down, but is it noticeably better for the battery than processor idling done by the OS itself?

All CPU governors descriptions that I could find use subjective words such as slow and fast to explain how the frequency changes over certain conditions.
What are the typical values here, are we taking about over or under 1ms?
I'm curious about a) how fast can the hardware go from min to max and vice versa and b) what would be a reasonably conservative number such as in a on demand cool down?
Are there any typical values for say an open source ROM or any other, in such and such device, available anywhere? Or in the lack of it, is it feasible to measure my own device over adb/ndk/sdk tinkering?

The effect of CPU governors when Min and Max frequencies are the same

Phone: Galaxy Ace 3 gt-s7272, android 4.2.2 (rooted)
Available CPU governors:
Interactive, Conservative, Ondemand, Powersave, Performance
Available frequencies: 999999, 666666, 499999, 312000
Number of Cores: 2
My question is since CPU governors are responsible for change and adjustment of frequency based on the workload, What will happen if we lock the maximum and the minimum frequencies the same? Say we set Max: 312000 and Min:312000
; So does type of governor has any effect in this situation?

I have rooted by Samsung S dous s7562 (645 RAM single core 1ghz processor)phone using Kingo Android root desktop App.
I decided to root my phone as it was very slow .
I have already done the following to speed up the phone :
- Uninstalled unnecessary system apps.
- Frozen bloatware
- Using RAMBooster App
- Tried overclocking a bit using CPU Adjuster app
**Problem :**
> I don't have any idea regarding how much should I overclock based on
> my device specification.
>
> I changed min CPU speed from 245Mhz to 320Mhz .
>
> But since I have overclocked it the battery is drain too fast although
> the performance is a little better(but still lagging a bit).
**Please suggest what should I do to speed up my phone without damaging it and without battery drain(battery is weak already as its an 1.25 year old phone)**
Also please let me know How can I move apps to sdcard as even movetosd apps for rooted android devices are not working , (as my internal memory is read as sdcard)
Thanks!

I am looking at my phone with a thermal camera to watch the external heat distribution as I attempt to hold it at a constant high load.
What I need to do is hold the CPU at a constant load over the span of about 30 mins, I have achieved this with relative success using the two "burner" apps available on google play. I paired this with SetCPU to max out the allowable core frequencies.
I have used HWMonitor PRO to view the temp sensor values and record them on my PC.
Does anyone know if there is an app available that applies a repeatably constant load or how one would begin to do so through programming? The main issue I am finding is that the burner apps will shut down after a certain time (or temperature) and don't feel very consistent.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

I tried to understand these parameters, The kernel documentation here: https://www.kernel.org/doc/Documentation/cpu-freq/governors.txt
explains Governors and governor parameters, but some of the parameters are not explained in the documentation. Can you please explain or point me to the documentation which I could read and understand all these parameters for a better understanding of dynamic frequency scaling in Android?

Are the frequencies suggested by
SetCPU
for each device based on a certain algorithm or was it worked out device specifically or are they just arbitrarily formed upon extensive testing?
I have an old HTC Wildfire which has a maximum frequency at 768MHz
The steps of frequencies show by SetCPU itself is 176,264,352,518,576,614,633,652,672,691,710,729,748,768
all in MHz
.
I eventually created a setcpu.txt
file which I put in the root of the SD-Card. The thing is when I had a frequency of 800MHz
SetCPU
still read it but the max frequency it could obviously touch was 768MHz
.
I repeat, my question is how are the frequencies listed by SetCPU
formulated?

I have a rooted Samsung Galaxy GT-I7500 running stock Donut (Android 1.6). I tried a couple of overclocking apps such as SetCPU and CPU Master, but none of them let me actually "over"-clock the CPU, because I can't set the maximum to be more than the default 528 MHz. I have read about speeds of 624 and/or 710 MHz possible with either the Galaxo custom ROM or GAOSP, but I want to achieve those kinds of speeds with stock Donut.
I've tried GAOSP b3 (Gingerbread) and Galaxo 1.6.3.4, but I prefer the feel of stock 1.6 (that's why I love my stock Nexus S running 2.3).
Is it possible to set the CPU speed beyond 528 MHz in my rooted Samsung Galaxy GT-I7500? How?

I went through HTC's official rooting steps which I've discovered is unusual because it means I didn't instantly start with a special rom that has SuperUser installed by default. I installed Superuser from the Play store, but when I run something like SetCPU, I just get "SetCPU can't get root permission. Make sure to set it in superuser." I don't get the promised sudden prompt from SuperUser. Is there a special way to install SuperUser that I should be using?

I have looked through the site, and it doesn't seem this has been answered yet. Once a day, at some point I pull my phone out of my pocket and it refuses to wake (black screen only). It isn't off, because the power button does nothing. I have to remove the battery in order to reboot the phone. I have looked for an app to help me find the cause (i.e. Log Collector) but it doesn't help because this isn't as simple as an FC, I am unaware when it happens until I pull my phone out. Is there a way to debug/find the culprit?
**My info:** Samsung Galaxy Gio GT-S5660, Froyo, rooted
**Note:** I am running SetCPU (no profiles) and Tasker, they are suspects but I haven't been able to get an app to give me a continuous log.

I installed SetCPU on my SK4G today, and for the most part things are running fine and I haven't had any problems.
At first I was getting a lot of lag and my phone kept freezing, so I checked this post and it helped me out a lot.
But I ran into one more problem. My phone keeps shutting off and I have to take out the battery and put it back in order to turn it on again. It's happened twice.
Could SetCPU be the cause of the problem?
**Profiles:**
Main / 816max - 312min (ondemand)
Temp > 35.6 C / 608max - 216min (ondemand / priority: 100)
Charging / 760max - 456min (ondemand / priority: 75)
Screen Off / 456max - 312min (ondemand / priority: 50)
I should also mention that I don't have a custom ROM or Kernel on my phone. It's just rooted.

I'm running rooted stock Android 2.2 on a Motorola Droid. I was hoping other users of the app could give me some advice.
First question: whats the best underclock setting for a good balance between performance and longer battery life? How much longer battery life is it giving you on average?
Second question: I told it to autodetect the phone and I can seem to only overclock to 800mhz. How do I overclock to 1ghz. How high can I/should I overclock? I'm only overclocking when I play psx4droid.
Third question: any recommended profiles to setup?
Thanks!
