Samsung Galaxy Gio network menu
I have a problem with my galaxy gio. It has a network lock (I think) and I've tried to unlock it. The problem is that I have the unlock code but the phone doesn't ask for it. It is there a menu or a key code to open that menu to enter the unlock code or any other solution ? Thanks

Revive a dead phone?
I don't have any background information, but my coworker showed up today with a nonresponsive Samsung Galaxy Gio. It will not boot. When plugged into the power charger, a half-full battery displays and just stays there. Attempting to turn it on while holding the home button has no effect. I swapped...
I don't have any background information, but my coworker showed up today with a nonresponsive Samsung Galaxy Gio. It will not boot. When plugged into the power charger, a half-full battery displays and just stays there.
Attempting to turn it on while holding the home button has no effect.
I swapped batteries with her (this is a company phone; we all have the same model). My phone works fine with her battery, hers does not work with my battery. Tried gently brushing off the battery contacts in her phone, no go.
Anything else to try before sending to the manufacturer?

Galaxy Gio doesn't find GPS satellites after minutes of searching
I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy Gio (GT-S5660). When I try to connect to the GPS satellites, 75% of the time the built-in GPS is unable to locate me within a few minutes. I keep seeing the blinking GPS icon. The other 25% of the time I get a GPS signal within 15 seconds. Is this unusual behavior?...
I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy Gio (GT-S5660). When I try to connect to the GPS satellites, 75% of the time the built-in GPS is unable to locate me within a few minutes. I keep seeing the blinking GPS icon. The other 25% of the time I get a GPS signal within 15 seconds.
Is this unusual behavior? If yes, what can I do to find the cause of the problem? Are there any known "death grip" issues related to GPS chips?
I should note that I don't have a data subscription for my phone and I've disabled mobile internet on my device, but I have offline maps (certain areas in Google Maps and my entire country in MapDroid) so the GPS chip should be able to operate without data or WiFi.

When going to

Link Speed: 1 Mbps

How can I put my gt-s5660 functionaly again?
I have my galaxy gio rooted with superuser (it was vodafone), and I downloaded the px-cwm-v2.zip, and used rom manager app with no changes from me. Now my phone gets stuck in Galaxy Gio Model apresentation, the second image, and I have no back up. What are the possible solutions to resolve this?

A few days ago I bought the Samsung Galaxy Gio , an Android phone that ships with Froyo. My regional Samsung site implies that a Gingerbread upgrade is available to me.
I then installed Samsung Kies to see if I could upgrade the firmware, but it said that currently no update was available for my device. (Related discussion about the cryptic update message. )
How do I find out whether Samsung plans to release an official Gingerbread upgrade for my device?
Are there any unofficial firmware upgrades available that work with my device? Would you recommend them? What about security?

I have looked through the site, and it doesn't seem this has been answered yet. Once a day, at some point I pull my phone out of my pocket and it refuses to wake (black screen only). It isn't off, because the power button does nothing. I have to remove the battery in order to reboot the phone. I have looked for an app to help me find the cause (i.e. Log Collector) but it doesn't help because this isn't as simple as an FC, I am unaware when it happens until I pull my phone out. Is there a way to debug/find the culprit?
**My info:** Samsung Galaxy Gio GT-S5660, Froyo, rooted
**Note:** I am running SetCPU (no profiles) and Tasker, they are suspects but I haven't been able to get an app to give me a continuous log.

I downloaded ROM Manager today onto my Samsung Galaxy Gio, and after several attempts to back up my ROM in its current state I tried to reboot my phone into recovery mode through the app. It immediately died, and responds to nothing I do.
I've tried booting it various ways, yet it remains as dead as a battery-less phone (no, charging doesn't do anything, although my battery was low at the time). The phone has been quite stable up till now. I don't have a custom ROM, it is rooted, and everything else is backed up. Is there anything I can do that will work?
