Disable Call Waiting

Is there a way on Android to disable call waiting? Quite often I'll be in a conference call and suddenly one of my friends tries to call me when I'm in the middle of discussing something quite complicated. The phone will start blipping at me to indicate the second call is coming in. I'm really not great at multi-tasking and this completely throws me from the discussion I'm already in. Is there a way to set the phone to redirect the secondary caller straight to voicemail? I'm using a Motorola One Vision.

As shown in the screenshot below, on my Samsung Galaxy SIII, when I go to Phone -> Call Settings, almost everything is disabled/grayed out. I have a SIM card inside my phone but have not topped up my mobile phone subscription this month. I wonder whether that is the reason why these features are disabled, or whether the reason is that my network provider doesn't support them (after all I am still able to receive incoming calls and SMSs). Is this the case? I would like to use features such as: - placing a call on hold, retrieving a held call, and dialling second (or other) calls - make multipary/conference calls by merging calls - set call diverting (including diverting calls to the voicemail server) - set call barring - set call waiting - set call forwarding - set fixed dialling numbers (FDNs) I wonder which of these features require support for these features from the network operator. I also would like to know whether, and if not then which of these, features are nowadays provided free of charge with a subscription plan from the network operator, and which features normally would not be included and cost extra. Receiving phone calls and SMS messages does not require the account associated with the SIM card to be topped-up (hence is totally free of charge). I know this could vary from network operator to network operator, but due to network operator competitiveness, I would expect most network operator to provide more or less the same features for free as others, and charge for features in case the other operators also do. Thanks. Call Settings --- EDIT: I've topped up my phone with my pay-as-you-go plan and as a result all of the entries in the above screenshot have become enabled. --- EDIT: Just for the record, I've contacted my network operator. The monthly 10€ pay-as-you-go plan I'm subscribed to happens to include 400 phone hours within the same country, 400 SMS to phone numbers within the same country, 1GB fast Internet followed by unlimited slow Internet. However calls abroad as well as calls to the provider's answering machine service are charged separately/extra. Also, while Caller ID and Call Forwarding/Diverting services are free of charge, Call Waiting will soon incur charges with my provider. I guess other service providers would offer similar service and features at roughly the same price. Regards.

Why is Call Waiting not available on Android 2.3.4 (Gingerbread)?

From my Samsung Galaxy SIII's Phone application (on Android Jelly Bean 4.3), as long as my phone has credit, I can access the application's "Settings" screen via the menu key and then tap on "Additional settings" to check the "Call waiting (During a call, notify me of incoming calls)" feature. With this feature, when I am on the phone, if someone else calls me, then the speakerphone emits two beeps, followed by a pause, followed by two beeps, and at the same time displays a screen where I can answer the incoming call. The beeps are not audible by the party already taking part in the phone conversation. I then have the option of answering the new call, while putting the old call on hold, or reject the new call, optionally rejecting it by also sending a text message displaying the reason for the rejection (e.g. busy, etc...). In case the new call is answered, the other call is put on hold, and I can then either swap which party is on hold and which party is online via a button on the screen. I can even merge the two calls in which case I will be hearing both other parties at the same time and they will also be able to hear each other. So, all in all, Call Waiting is a great feature because when someone calls you and you're busy on the phone, you still have a chance of at least answering the new incoming call if it is more important than the current call. However, this feature seems to be lacking on Android Gingerbread devices. So, my question is, why is the Call Waiting feature missing from older Android devices? After all this feature has been available for a very long time on phone networks (including those times when there were no cell phones and this feature was available on landlines and was used mainly by people at work who made use of the feature at an additional cost)? Thanks.

How do I enable call waiting notification when I am calling another person?

When I used my previous phone, when I am calling someone, I used to get a notification if the party that I am calling is in another call and I am waiting. I usually don't like to disturb people when they are in another call so I promptly hang up. But I've noticed that my **HTC Desire S** does not tell me that information. Is it by design ? Is there anyway I can enable this feature? An app perhaps? Or are all the phones running Android have this feature turned off ? Just to clarify, I am **NOT** looking for activating call waiting on my phone so I get an alert when another person is calling me. I want to know when a call *I* initiated is in call-waiting on the other end.

My phone is the HTC Desire S. I have call waiting enabled. On the original HTC firmware I got bundled with the phone, this meant that when another call was coming through I heard a double-beep twice in the background, and then it stopped. Now that I have installed CyanogenMod 7, I'm getting that double-beep continuing for the entire 20 seconds that the call is waiting, if I don't answer it. How can I restore it so that I just get the double-beep twice and then it stops when a new call is coming through?

How can I hang up on only one party when using call waiting?
I have an HTC Thunderbolt. When I use call waiting, I can't hang up on one line without the phone hanging up both calls. How can I hang up on just one party?

Switching from active call to a waiting call?
I'd like to ask you if you know how can I change the line of calling. For example, a friend of mine is calling me and we have a talk.
