After press call screen goes inactive
When I press the dial button in the mobile screen the screen goes inactive but the call is in-progress at back end, It does not come back on when I move it from my face, only when the call has ended by the called person. I cannot check call waiting, internet, contacts, call duration, use speaker phone or anything during a call.
Before the problem when I press the dial button the screen is active condition when I place the head set near to my ear the screen is in-active i.e. screen light is off then I bring the head set out of my ear suddenly screen is active i.e. screen light is glow THIS OPTION IS NOW NOT WORKING, How I can overcome this problem.
**NOTE In Simple**

Tried adding Audio Recording Support, in vain.
**UPDATE:** Tried with ICS (4.0 version). It doesn't show the error, but it doesn't send the audio message either. (The clock symbol in the right-bottom corner never turns into a tick)

I have a Casio G'zOne Commando C771 phone. It only has 400 MB of internal storage (!!!). I want to connect to my email, but if I use the built in email app, it will very quickly fill up what little storage I have left.
In most cases, I have to use "App2SD" apps and never use the built in apps that come with the phone (outdated, and if I even download the updates they will immediately take up that little bit of space - so I only updated the Play Store and nothing else). I have tried downloading other email apps but have been unsuccessful. None of the ones I have tried have the "Move to SD" button enabled. Alternately, if an app is minimal in size (< 10 MB) and allows me to store the emails on the SD card, that would also be acceptable.
Here are email apps I have tried so far: GMail (maybe it would work, but since it comes as a system App I can't move to SD), myMail, Aqua Mail, and "Mails" (by Apyfie).
I have a Roundcube server, so I have also tried the Roundcube app, which IS surprisingly app2SD compatible - unfortunately it's broken in almost all other aspects - for instance, I can only see my last 5 emails and no others - so I still can't use it.
I also tried to locate "K-9 mail" but it says it's not compatible with this version of Android.
This phone has Android version 2.3.3.
I am aware that I could probably root the phone and do it that way, but I would prefer not to.

I found an old phone of mine while cleaning, and would like to donate it. I've googled how to do a factory reset on a gingerbread device, and all of them say the same thing: go to Settings -> Privacy, and then click the Factory Data Reset button under Personal Data. The problem is, I don't have that option. My Privacy settings only have Lock Screen (display message text), and Backup and Restore (Back up my settings and Automatic Restore.) I don't have a Personal Data section.
The phone does not have a SIM card installed, but does have a google account attached, plus a lot of apps with on-board data. I know I can disconnect the google account, but how can I wipe all the apps and reset the phone to "new"?
It's a rooted HTC Sensation, if it matters, and I think is running CyanogenMod. (Like I said, it's an old phone...)

**Device:** AT&T HTC Holiday w/ Android 2.3 & no service
**Goal:** To get Android 4.x (any derivative) working on said device.
**Problem:** When I tried to install the PACMAN ROM (by loosely following the instructions provided at [Update HTC Raider/Velocity/Vivid/Holiday TO Android 4.4.4 KITKAT](http://www.crazyadvisors.com/update-htc-raider-velocity-vivid-holiday-to-4-4-4-kitkat/)) I got my phone stuck in a boot loop, meaning I can't S-OFF it using the tools provided at unlimited.io. (ControlBear is too impatient waiting for the phone to reboot because the phone is perpetually in a slow-to-start first-run state as it can't get past PACMAN's language selection screen before restarting itself, I'm assuming because the phone knows PACMAN isn't signed by HTC so it kills it) It doesn't help that ControlBear is closed source, meaning I can't modify it to suit my specific conditions.
**The bright side:** I have the recovery "CWM-based Recovery (by @KDH4865) v5.0.2.7" installed on the phone, so I can flash any OS ROM I want, it's just not guaranteed to work.
**Problem (cont'd):** I don't have a backup of anything.
**The bright side (cont'd):** I imagine installing a ROM that is signed by HTC might work, such as that over-the-air update to ICS which was never received. Alternatively, I have heard chatter on the PACMAN forums about "flashing boot.img" as an alternative to S-OFF, and I have no idea what that means. All I know of are the OS partition, the user data partition, the bootloader (on a separate BIOS chip?), the recovery partition, and the GSM antenna which does that nasty S-ON security stuff. I am clearly missing a small chunk of information in my brain.
Where might one go from my current situation in pursuit of one's goal?
EDIT: It turns out HTC gives away what it calls "ROMs" in Windows executable format for its devices free of charge. Apparently it's some kind of "RUU" thing, which I guess is like Android open heart surgery. I'll try that and see how it works.

I'm using:

- Android Studio 1.2.1.1;

I'm emulating:
- Android device with Gingerbread 2.3.3 (API 10).
Does anyone got a solution? Thank you!

Why is Call Waiting not available on Android 2.3.4 (Gingerbread)?

From my Samsung Galaxy SIII's Phone application (on Android Jelly Bean 4.3), as long as my phone has credit, I can access the application's "Settings" screen via the menu key and then tap on "Additional settings" to check the "Call waiting (During a call, notify me of incoming calls)" feature. With this feature, when I am on the phone, if someone else calls me, then the speakerphone emits two beeps, followed by a pause, followed by two beeps, and at the same time displays a screen where I can answer the incoming call. The beeps are not audible by the party already taking part in the phone conversation. I then have the option of answering the new call, while putting the old call on hold, or reject the new call, optionally rejecting it by also sending a text message displaying the reason for the rejection (e.g. busy, etc...). In case the new call is answered, the other call is put on hold, and I can then either swap which party is on hold and which party is online via a button on the screen. I can even merge the two calls in which case I will be hearing both other parties at the same time and they will also be able to hear each other.
So, all in all, Call Waiting is a great feature because when someone calls you and you're busy on the phone, you still have a chance of at least answering the new incoming call if it is more important than the current call. However, this feature seems to be lacking on Android Gingerbread devices.
So, my question is, why is the Call Waiting feature missing from older Android devices? After all this feature has been available for a very long time on phone networks (including those times when there were no cell phones and this feature was available on landlines and was used mainly by people at work who made use of the feature at an additional cost)?
Thanks.

I have an LG Optimus Elite (Sprint/Ting) thats been rooted. Since its a Sprint phone, it had voluminous crapware, which an install of the NoBloat app took care of a good part of it but I still have a bunch that weren't seen in the NoBloat screen. Several of them are obvious Sprint crap (SprintID, SprintMusicPlus and SprintTV & Movies) but a few are Google (GooglePlayBooks, GooglePlayMovies & TV, and GooglePlayMusic).. I know at least a few are going to suggest putting ClockworkRecovery and a 3rd party ROM on the phone. I'd really love to do that very thing, but am running into the problem where all of the info I've googled on installling CWR on a LG Optimus Elite calls out putting it on a partition that doesn't seem to exist on *my* Elite when I do a "mount" .. I'm really shy about following the instructions that appear to me to be wrong.. The FAQ I'm referring to is at
http://androidforums.com/elite-all-things-root/620742-faq-guide-clockworkmod-optimus-elite.html
The Step 5 calls out "Type dd if=/sdcard/part_13_cwm_9_22_17_32.bin of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p14 and tap the [Enter] key" .. According to "mount", there is no /dev/block/mmcblk0p14 on this phone. I've put CWR on my old LG Optimus V with no questions/problems, so assume I'm comfortable with the rest of this procedure...
If anybody has input on either of these sub-problems, I'd sure appreciate a hand...

I have been having a problem with my Android 2.3.3 Samsung Galaxy S, that it was shutting 2 essential applications down: messaging app and call protocol. I have been tracing the cause of that by looking phone logs with SDK in eclipse. I have spotted this error:
I/ActivityManager(524): Low Memory: No more background processes.
So I assume this is the reason for the crash... eitherway I want to understand, why I do not have enough memory. I do not have many apps running in the background and I am very careful with what I am installing. I have looked at the memory allocation in eclipse DDMS view and there were:
217 MB (75 %) was unknown,
8 MB (3 %) free
1 MB (0 %) buffers
35 MB (12 %) inactive
14 MB (5 %) slab
12 MB (4 %) page tables.
Of course now I want to know what that unknown place means. Because if I force close some system services or app services I can only reduce unknown allocation down to 55 - 60 %.
How can I find out what this unknown memory usage is?
