How can one easily toggle iOS so that ALL sounds (including alarms) are silenced for a set time period or until the toggle is reversed?

With the introduction of iOS 15 and focus mode, I have once again wished that I could find a simple way (on a standard, non-jailbroken iPhone) to temporarily silence all sounds, including alarms, for some period of time. The main use case here, is that I have a lot of daily alarms that are always set, but some times, I am at the theater or in a special meeting, where I do not want them to go off. Turning the alarms off and on, or giving them a silent ringtone, is not really a viable option. I'd love a control panel switch or focus mode setting that could handle this, if there was one. A fancy shortcut automation might be an option, but I'm guessing that it would still be a bit difficult to make generic enough and reliable. Using a non-Apple app for Alarms, might be one possible approach, as I think that would be silenced, but that solution isn't ideal since most of my workflow relies on the built in alarm functionality at the moment. Does anyone know how to accomplish this (now or in the future)? ***EDIT***: Although the list of active, recurring alarms does not change all the time, it does change frequently enough, that I'd prefer a solution that could silence all enabled alarms and then un-silence that same list without needing to maintain the list, simply because it will be error prone. As much as I like Apple products in general, the lack of a real "theater" silent mode in 2021 is completely baffling.

This makes sense as I do not want to be disturbed by my "unread" count judging me. Since I updated to Big Sur this feature is gone. A google search comes out empty, with only an app by an independent developer as the solution, but the app's website is gone. Thank you for your suggestions.

I'm trying to build a Shortcut for switching to Do Not Disturb for a given number of minutes. Afterwards, the previous Focus mode should be restored. For example, I have a mode called "Work". When starting the Shortcut and providing 1 minute as input, I want it to switch to Do Not Disturb for 1 minute, and switch back to Work afterwards. My problem is that restoring the previous Focus mode does not work. Instead, DND turns off as expected, but then it turns on DND again, and not the previous Focus mode. Here's how my Shortcut currently looks: enter image description here I added Speak as debug output, and it correctly outputs "Work" for the example described above, both before prompting for input, as well as after waiting till DND is over. I also added additional 10 seconds of waiting, to make sure I'm not running into race conditions, but that doesn't change anything. Does anyone know how to restore the previous Focus mode correctly?

I'm setting up a new MacBook Pro with macOS Ventura. I'm excited about the new Focus Modes, and created a custom mode called Video Conferencing. My goal is for the Focus Mode to turn on when I'm running Zoom or Skype, and to turn off when I quit those applications. Looking at the UI, it seems clear that's how it's supposed to work: Video Conferencing will turn on when zoom.us is opened and turn off when it's closed. enter image description here While it is turning on when I open Zoom, and off when I close Zoom, it's also toggling every time I put focus on a different app, or come back to Zoom. How do I keep the Focus Mode enabled while the app is running, and automatically disabled when the app closes?

iPhone 14, iOS v17.5.1 I've setup work focus and bedtime DND. I want a few other iOS users to _see_ that I have a focus set in iMessage (eg. 🌜 Nick has notifications silenced), while still allowing those messages to bypass the focus and notify me (haptic when on silent, ringtone when not). My phone is pretty much always set to silent. I see two options: 1. The "Allow Notifications" list for each focus 1. A contact's "emergency bypass" setting for texting/calling. Problems with these: Once I add a contact to the allow list on the focus, they don't appear to see that I have a focus set at all. They don't see the "has notifications silenced" message. If, instead, I add the contact as an emergency bypass, they *do* see my focus status, but it plays the text/ring tone when in silent. This is annoying. I could set a custom silent ringtone for them but when *not* on silent I'd want it to ring. So, unless I've missed something it doesn't look like I can have someone aware of my focus but also receive their notifications in the way I want while in that focus.

What I want -- I have the Work focus scheduled during my work hours. I have several work-related apps that I would like to allow notifications from only whenever I happen to have the Work focus on. Otherwise, I don't want to hear from them. What I tried -- 1. Disabling the notifications for these apps under Settings → Notifications and then specifically whitelisting them in the Work focus settings. This didn't work because, I guess, Notifications settings have priority and a focus can't overwrite them. 2. Considered re-enabling notifications for these work-related apps and then scheduling the Personal focus for hours outside work, where I would disable them. But that sounds too much because I don't really need a focus for my personal time (except for this issue). I am not sure what other restrictions it would impose and it would show up to other people in iMessage as if I do not want to be disturbed. So is there a way to allow specific apps only during a specific focus and mute them otherwise?

And never turns it back. So it is nearly impossible to call her. Simple solution, use clock to turn to silent and back to active. Nope, doesn't do that. Must be an app for that! Nope. A few apps claim so but actually just set timers to remind you to turn it back on and, since it is in silent mode, they just flash the screen. Which does little good in a purse. How can we accomplish this either with built-in functionality or with an app?

How can I get notifications to appear on my lockscreen again? To clarify, I would like the same behaviour I had before updating to iOS 15: - notifications pile up onto my lockscreen, but do not make sound or vibration - I never get any kind of pop-up notifications or alert sounds when I have unlocked and am using my phone

Has anyone found a way to turn on Do Not Disturb mode for every device from one. Often times when I'm trying to work and people won't shut up I turn on DND mode on my MBP but then my iPhone will start dinging away. So I turn on DND mode there too. Then iPad starts up etc. This is an almost endless process. There's an additional 2 other Macs tied into my iCloud account. I've been tempted to just turn it off completely but it's about as handy as it is annoying. Also find that when I need to turn DND mode off I forget on 1 device or more causing some annoyance if I actually need the notifications. Ideally I'd like to be able to activate DND mode globally from my MBP. I'm curious if anyone else has seen a possible solution to this.

I have an iPad I use occasionally for specific tasks, and I want it to never have any notifications. I have my iPhone for that. I used to set my iPad to Do Not Disturb and this easily solved my problem, but apparently with the new Focus features Do Not Disturb is now a setting that takes affect across all my devices! When I turn it on for the iPad, it also turns it on for my iPhone! Now I do want my iPad connected to my Apple ID and have access to things like Facetime and Messages, since I do use these sometimes, but again I don't want notifications for any of it. How do I fix this?

I've tried to manually change the duration of activation and that works for the day, but the following day it goes back to only activating for 30 mins.
