App Library is the feature, first introduced in iOS 14, that automatically groups and surfaces your installed apps. It is located to the right of your final organized iOS home screen.
I find App Library *too good* and want to disable it. App Library:
- Surfaces apps that I want to hide in a folder and avoid using.
- Makes apps easily accessible even if I hide home screens via a Focus.
- Doesn't show the Dock apps, which make my most frequently used apps harder to open.
Is there a way to disable App Library and return to a finite number of apps, folders, and Springboard home screens? As it behaved on iOS 1-13.
Settings app has a Home Screen section, but (in iOS 15) no way to control using App Library.
> With iOS 14 and later, there are new ways to find and organize the apps on your iPhone — so you see what you want, where you want. Learn how to use the App Library and organize your Home Screen.

How are these people changing and customizing their app icons?
Note that this is different than the [*app developer* providing alternate app icons](https://stackoverflow.com/questions/43097604/alternate-icon-in-ios-10-3) , which has been possible since iOS 10.3.

The Springboard on my Late 2018 iPad Pro and now iPhone (as of the last month), crashes between every 20 minutes to 3 hours. I run iOS 13.2.3
The screen goes black, the spinning wheel appears, continues for about 6 seconds and then the Home screen reappears. Any app that I launch reloads.
I've have the same case number with multiple Apple Senior Advisors since February and they simply can't figure it out. They have already replaced the iPad as a possible solution. They sent in my log files from an Apple profile to the iCloud team. They've had the log files for 2 months and have never replied. Obviously they're lost too.
I've done every normal troubleshooting step under the sun, resetting to factory settings, putting it in recovery mode from iTunes and rebuilding the iPad from scratch, with no iCloud restore. I even signed in with a different, new Apple ID to test that. No joy, it still crashes.
I believe I've narrowed down the cause: corrupted iCloud library folders/files because iCloud on a Mac syncs to an iOS device.
So what's the best way to replace and re-build those? Recovery mode on my iMac and Macbook? A Terminal command?
I can't use my iPad Pro as a functional daily driver when it keeps crashing when working. I moved (essentially deleted) several iCloud library folders on my Macbook and my iPad continues to crash.
What steps can be done to isolate or fix this crashing?

## Steps to Fix SpringBoard Layout: IconState.plist Open, Edit, Replace, Insert from Backups & Respring
Follow on to: https://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/40884/organize-ios-app-icons-sort-rearrange
I've got an older iPhone 5 iOS 9.3.3 - 32 bit HomeDepot Jailbreak,
slowly transferring to iPhone 6 iOS 10.2 - Yalu Jailbreak.
**History:**
- 2015, around transition from iOS 7.1.1 to 9.0.2,the iTunes sync messed up and the JB window was gone, got left with **100s of disorganized apps & messsed up Springboard layout**.
- Luckily I'd backed up **SpringBoard Layout**; old backups of i5's
IconSupportState.plist
that was to be converted to and replace IconState.plist
as per instruction from the tweak Developer since folder support had improved from iOS 7 to 9.
**Jailbreak Functionality & Access Limitations and actions :**
- **On i5 (not i6)**, despite HD JB & several tweak reinstalls, have been unable to root File System access via **afc2add** or **Apple File Conduit 2 (App FC2)** working on **iFunbox** or **iMazing**.
- Even **OpenSSH** runs for a while, but then I have to reinstall it in Cydia.
- Using **WinSCP** I've been able to access & backup /var/mobile/Library/SpringBoard
and use **Notepad++** which **has a plugin** to open & edit IconSupportState.plist
& IconState.plist
& DesiredIconState.plist
.
- Due to Notepad++ & XML background I understand the structure & once fixed to how I want, I'd like to replace it on my i5.
- Additional Info:
- I assumed that once copied from PC to i5, to get it "active" I need to re-spring.
**For some reason, I've been unable to get that to "take". I'm wondering if I need the correct way to Respring under this iOS+JB combination**.
### Questions on the steps to get this fix in place:
- Am I choosing, editing and replacing the correct .plist or making some mistake?
- Is there a better path/location to where I can upload the .plist?
- Is there another way for me to replace the SpringBoard .plist(s)?
- What's the best steps &/ right tweak to Respring/ Reboot (on i5 iOS 9.3.3 32bit HomeDepot JB & i6 iOS 10.2.x Yalu JB) for this - after .plist is replaced/ inserted?
**Add-on to help fix & maintain SpringBoard Layout:**
- What are the newer SB layout backup tweaks?
- Any thoughts on how I can get **Full Raw File System via USB** & **OpenSSH via WiFi** working properly on **i5 iOS 9.3.3 HomeDepot JB**?

It is generally pretty reliable, with only a couple of previous springboard crashes caused by the Control Center. But now, every time I open my spring board, it crashes. CrashReporter's main suspect is
libFlipswitchSpringBoard.dylib
, and the other suspect is libflipswitch.dylib
. I've re-installed both of those, but it just keeps crashing. I've also re-installed FlipControlCenter. Is there any way to fix this?
I can provide the long list of tweaks installed, but I'll need to update it first.
I have an iPhone 6s running iOS 10.3.3 jailbroken with totaly-not.spyware.lol (g0blin method I think, but maybe doubleH3lix).
Here is a google docs link to the crash report for anyone who can understand it.

I was successfully using the Xcode Simulator yesterday evening. This morning when I came into work, I didn't change anything, but suddenly, every time I open the Simulator, this error pops up "SpringBoard cannot be opened because of a problem." The same exact thing is also happening to my coworker on his Mac. I've clicked Report and sent a report to Apple.
Since I didn't touch anything, I can only assume that the problem was caused by some update that happened in the background between last night and this morning. I've tried deleting the simulator devices and adding them back. I've tried clicking "Reset Contents and Settings..." in the Simulator menu. And I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Xcode.
I have:
- **OS X El Capitan 10.11.5**
- **Xcode 7.3.1 (7D1014)**
- **Simulator 9.3 (SimulatorApp-645.9)**
I have no idea why this would suddenly be an issue. Has anyone else run into this?

How to delete an iOS app you can't find in Springboard?
I have way too many apps on my iPhone, so many that I can't find any given app in the folders and pages of the Springboard Home screens any more. If I can't find it, how do I delete it? I don't want to use iTunes for this if there's any way at all to avoid it.

All apps from
private/var/stash/Applications.xxxxxx
are missing suddenly. I can't exactly say when that happened, don't think it was any specific Cydia
tweak.
I still can ssh
into my iPhone and see that the folder is still there, but the applications inside it won't show up on springboard. I already created a new symlink into root ("/") and I made chmod 775
for the applications folder. I've run out of ideas and would like to avoid a full restore. What could be wrong and what can I do?

Since updating to iOS 10, when I update my apps, some of the indicator dots are bright cyan instead of blue. For example, Deltek in the screenshot (compared to Sheets). Why?
**edit:** In response to IconDaemon's comment, first, the light color was constant as I swiped to and from the page, with the background stationary. Second, I just checked again, and it's now the normal dark blue (see below). I didn't change the background or transparency settings. It might just be a bug, but I don't think it's an illusion or background interaction.
**edit 2:** I just updated Facebook Messenger and it happened again. The dot is bright cyan, regardless of its position against the background. Then after I use the phone for a few minutes, it changes to the normal color. 3 images showing the bright color, followed by the dark color:

iPad randomly restarts every few minutes
Starting from a few days ago, my iPad mini(1st gen) was restarting every 3-5 minutes. I tried to normally restore, then recovery mode restore, and today DFU restore mode. Starting from a few days ago, my iPad mini(1st gen) was restarting every 3-5 minutes. I tried to normally restore, then recovery mode restore, and today DFU restore mode. None of these methods worked. My warranty is already expired, so I cannot bring it into an Apple store. How do I fix this problem?
EDIT: I jailbroke my iPad today, hoping to find a solution to the problem in Cydia. When I was downloading a tweak, the "restart springboard" after downloading would restart my device. Could there be a problem with springboard?
EDIT 2: I realized that it would have a period of time that it wouldn't autorestart(usually 2-3 hours), then restart approx every 30secs-2mins.
