However, it doesn't open my new device (obviously) and sits there doing nothing and never goes away. How can I remove that from the list? Is it listed as an "Android Adapter USB Device" under Device Manager? For others who see this, I just want to remove the icon that DroidExplorer has added. This is what it looks like: > Image

I have lots of albums containing mp3 files on my Android phone. To listen to these tracks I have tried some music apps, but I am facing the same issue with lots of them : the small mp3 files (< 1 MB or so) are not showing up ! They are displayed if I am using a file explorer app, but not on the music apps, so I cannot listen to them. Why is it so? Is this normal? Does it depend on my phone, Android version, or only the music apps? Is there a way to stop this? I was not able to find how to remove this filter in the parameters of the apps. Do you have the name of free music apps that do the job? Thanks

I love the idea of being able to browse root directories on my laptop. But I can't for the life of me get droid explore to work, I have a note 4 (rooted of course), I am running stock Sammy ROM, I have installed adbd insecure on my device and I can access root via adb, but I cannot do anything with this software. I also have busybox installed to /xbin. When I click connect device, my device does show up, but when I click on said device, the application grays out and i cannot click anything other than min/max or close. It is the same with a rooted Samsung nexus that i have, running CM11. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. EDIT: i am running 64bit win 7 and I have tried reinstalling the software twice.

I have Huawei Ascend Y550. It is rooted and I can see, edit, and change files with a root explorer app. However, I have difficulty doing the same in Droid Explorer. I am using Droid Explorer because no matter what I try, I can't seem to get my work PC to recognise and get access to my phone. I have tried all sorts of things, and the phone is recognised on another work PC but not on the one I use. I'm new to Droid Explorer. I have followed all the instructions, installed it, and able to view my files and SD card as well, but I cannot see photos in the DCIM folder. I can see the .thumbnails, 100ANDRO, and Camera folders inside the DCIM folder. When I go into the Camera folder, I can see the folders I have created that contain the specific photos. But when I get into each of those, there is nothing shown inside. Here are the log files from Droid Explorer: - http://www.mediafire.com/download/inml7ubbdbhf518/Harold_Debug_Log_28.2.16.log - http://www.mediafire.com/download/1lxi7ss3aa7q8b8/DroidExplorer20160221.log20160221.log - http://www.mediafire.com/download/mxqhaznag62anat/DroidExplorer20160227.log - http://www.mediafire.com/download/xchike02rs9l9xq/DroidExplorer20160228.log - http://www.mediafire.com/download/inml7ubbdbhf518/Harold_Debug_Log_28.2.16.log

Device Manager shows Android USB Devices \ My HTC - device working properly. DE shows blank 'Select Device' screen. I am running DE version 0.9.0.0 (x64) on Windows 7 Pro. I have done the following.. 1. uninstalled all software that included a copy of adb.exe including Android sdk 2. uninstalled DE 3. uninstalled USB phone drivers 4. re-booted the PC 5. installed USB phone drivers by downloading and installing latest version of HTC Sync from the HTC web site. 6. installed latest version of Android Studio 7. installed DE 8. copied android sdk (from the Android Studio installation) to c:\program Files\DE\Android\ 9. Updated the sdk path in the DE config file (in folder 'data') accordingly 10. Run CMD.exe and, using the DE copy of adb.exe, killed the server, started the server, listed the devices; my phone was listed...... enter image description here 11. Now I have a folder with lots of things, but I have no clue how to get this app started. It doesn't look like a Windows program. I have no experience installing something on other platforms. Which platform is it meant for? Can someone please send me a link with installation info for that platform? Keen to get started investigating the contents of a backup.ab file. Many thanks!

I accidentally deleted the entire photos folder on my Galaxy Note 4. My quest to recover the photos in this folder has led me here. I have installed the SDK on my PC (Win7) and droidexplorer is all set up, but it won't detect the device. Yes, developer mode is activated and yes, the USB debugger thingy is turned on. Droidexplorer sounds really super helpful, but it's not detecting my phone. I saw several other threads about platform-tools needing to be reverted to an older version, but I can't figure out how to find the version I need, and it is difficult to understand some of the posts/events/etc. between stackexchange and github because I am not super experienced with coding. I got this far because I'm not very good at giving up on things, but I am just about out of time to spend on this problem. About the device: - Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (refurbished, in case it matters - Unrooted. Not necessarily opposed to rooting the phone, but if it would wipe memory that won't work. - Running 5.1.1 I need help figuring out why droidexplorer cannot find my phone. Do I need to replace the platform-tools folder? Is it something else? Is the damn thing too old for this? Thanks to anyone who is willing to help.
