I was experimenting (more specifically, trying to flash ROMs) with my Samsung Galaxy J1 Ace (rooted). It was all going well until I tried flashing the TWRP recovery mode.
I followed all the steps mentioned on various XDA forums, but a red exclamation mark appears at the top left of the screen when I try to turn it on along with the Samsung logo, and the phone just hangs. When I go to the Download mode, it shows "MDM Download Block: 0".
I tried flashing, using ODIN, other versions of the TWRP for my phone model, but the same error persists.
Is my phone soft-bricked? How do I fix it? I am trying to restore the original stock Samsung firmware now.

I am trying to use the TWRP custom recovery on my device but am unable to do so.
First I made sure I had the latest ADB and Samsung drivers. Downloaded the TWRP .tar file which is compatible( I think so, its not the exact model number, which is SM-J110H) with my device. Then I proceeded to run Odin, connect the phone to the PC using an usb cable, and put the phone in download mode.
Everything was working alright until I 'flashed'(Put the TWRP file in AP, clicked Start, the log showed 'All threads completed. (succeed 1 / failed 0)
').
After that, my phone rebooted. Now, whenever I try to go to recovery mode or boot my phone, it just hangs and a red exclamation mark is shown at the top left.
I have fixed it by flashing the stock firmware but would like to know why it doesnt work.
Any help would be appreciated.
Many thanks.

Enable LTE/4G on Samsung Galaxy J1 2016
If a SM-J120H device with Android 5.1.1 shows "WCDMA/GSM (auto connect)" as its top "Mobile Networks=>Network Mode" option, is there any secret code that can enable a "LTE/WCDMA/GSM (auto)" mode instead? In other devices it seems to involve dialing *#0011#.

At the moment, I can only access the files stored on my phone from the PC. I can access some music through players and pictures through gallery, but any other files that are there are hidden. Reading the manual, I realized this would normally be accessed through "
My Files
" - only... I don't have that icon anywhere. If it was there initially, I must have accidentally deleted it during the very first couple of minutes of having the phone and getting used to it. I hope such a thing is not irreversible? If I download something from the web, the download icon will show and then I am redirected to My Files, so they do exist, only the icon has gone and I don't know how to restore it or how else I can access the files without having to newly download something each time.

Unbricking a FRP-locked phone while leaving it rooted
I have a rooted Samsung Galaxy J1 Ace SM-J111F running the stock ROM in Android 5.1.1. I have a rooted Samsung Galaxy J1 Ace SM-J111F running the stock ROM in Android 5.1.1. I used [this XDA-Developers guide](https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/root-samsung-galaxy-j1-ace-sm-j111m-f-t3395520) to root it. The reason it's rooted is so I could format the attached SD card as internal storage. I've had no problems for the last 2 to 3 weeks until I switched the phone off in one country and switched it on in another. When the Samsung logo appears, it shows that the custom binary is locked by FRP.
I decided to re-root my phone again using the same method however, the terminal returns:
Waiting for phone to be connected...
Even though the phone is in download mode and all the appropriate settings have been set.
The guide also provides the firmware for the phone, I haven't tried it yet because I fear that the SD card will be have to be reformatted and all my data may be lost. I'm trying to find a way to fix my bricked phone and while keeping it rooted. Unfortunately, there is only one rooted binary available for this phone.
So I ask:
1. Is there any way to unbrick phone and keep it rooted?
2. If I do restore the firmware, will I have to reformat the SD card and will my data be deleted?
3. What caused this issue?
**EDIT**: I have continued this problem on [a different question](https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/179261/samsung-phone-still-bricked-via-frp-after-factory-reset?noredirect=1&lq=1) since it corresponds to a different issue, where factory resetting the phone still leaves it bricked via FRP.

Samsung phone still bricked via FRP after factory reset

This is a continuation of [this question](https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/179085/unbricking-a-frp-locked-phone-while-leaving-it-rooted) , but here are the facts: I have a rooted Samsung Galaxy J1 Ace SM-J111F running the stock ROM in Android 5.1.1. I used [this XDA-Developers guide](https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/root-samsung-galaxy-j1-ace-sm-j111m-f-t3395520) to root it. It suddenly got bricked via FRP lock so I tried to unroot it using the stock boot binary.
Here is an [Imgur album](https://i.sstatic.net/TSVlX.jpg) containing screenshots and images of the phone during the unrooting process.
Description of images:
1. The phone is set on Download/Odin mode.
2. Odin is ran as administrator and is loaded with
boot-stock.tar
provided by [this XDA-Developers guide](https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/root-samsung-galaxy-j1-ace-sm-j111m-f-t3395520) .
3. The settings of Odin.
4. This shows that the flash has failed.
5. The custom binary is blocked by FRP and I have to restart the phone to flash again.
I tried downloading from www.samsung-firmware.com and www.sammobile.com but all downloads have failed. It stops midway and asks for a HTTPS certificate and the archive becomes corrupted between 20 to 70 percent.
I therefore decided to wipe the data using the stock Android system recovery. However, after rebooting it, the binary is still blocked via FRP lock. I've wiped the cache as well.
What caused this issue and how do I solve this?

Samsung galaxy J1 dialing pad shortcut
Is there a way to go straight from the home screen using a shortcut, directly to the dialing pad/phone keypad, without first going through phone📞 > keypad🔢 ? Ideally I'd like this shortcut to be in the shortcut bar at the bottom of the home screen rather than one of the home 'pages'.
