I have recently begun using VMware Boxer email client for Android. I received a PDF attachment to an email. When trying to download it, I am given only two options: "Open in" and "Save in Boxer." When I save the file in Boxer, it is not visible anywhere except in the Boxer file browser. I have looked through the directory structure with another file browser, but I do not see where the file is stored on my phone or even where Boxer stores its data. Does anyone know how I can simply save the PDF into my "Downloads" directory and not be stuck with it within Boxer. I had been using Outlook, and it by default just stores the downloaded file in the public downloads directory.

I was wondering how you can use VMware View on my Nexus 7 to access Shared VMs on Workstation 8. Do you need to go via Vsphere or is there a way of just accessing it across the wifi network? Anyone any tips or ideas how it can be done?

I need to emulate an Android 4.2 device in Vmware Workstation 7.1. I downloaded the image **android-x86-4.2-20130228.iso** from http://www.android-x86.org/download . I tried to run it as a live-cd and also installed it on the VM harddisk (much like described at http://www.walterdevos.be/installing-android-x86-4-0-in-vmware-player) . In either case I got the following console screen: enter image description here taken from this topic in the google groups . So, you may see the problem occurs not only in my environment. I tried recommended setting from the topic (... nomodeset vga=(any unreal mode such as 987877 or 5785 etc)) as a possible workaround. Nothing helps. The question: how to fix the problem and run android-x86 in Vmware Workstation?

I haven't been able to find an answer for this so I figured I would ask here. Is there an app or method I can use to create and run an Android Virtual Machine on my Android Phone? I have a personal phone I want to put my work email on; however, my work email requires Microsoft Intune which requires that I give permission for my company to clear my phone at any time without warning. The reason they do this is in case I have company secrets on my phone and I if I become a risk they want to wipe my phone. I wanted to work around this by putting an android virtual machine on my phone. This way the company can clear my phone if they please but they will just wipe my VM not me actual personal phone. I saw an article that VMWare was doing something like this but I couldn't find any documentation on it. Does anyone know of a way to put a Android VM on an Android phone?

I followed these instructions on *how to Install Android 7.0 Nougat on VMware*. I am using VMware Fusion on a Mac. I've found little difference between VMware Fusion and the instructions provided. I can boot into grub, and select the OS (note: this is not a screenshot from my Mac): enter image description here but after I select the first Android entry, I receive the following: enter image description here where the cursor blinks and nothing else happens. If I reboot, and select (Debug mode) from the OS selection screen, I get to the following, and no further: enter image description here If I reboot and choose (debug nomodeset), I reach the same place. Same happens when selecting (Debug video=LVDS-1:d). I run Windows 10, and Ubuntu through VMware Fusion fine. Troubleshooting advice appreciated.

I've downloaded the latest Android x86 (android-x86-6.0_20160129.iso) from here and tried to install it to the HDD on a VM in VMware Workstation and in Virtualbox. The installation seems to proceed properly (using EXT4, and EFI Grub) and i get a message that it has installed successfully. However when I reboot it passes GRUB, picks the correct Android installation, but it does not boot. I get the result seen in the screenshot below and then a *blank screen* with a *blinking cursor*. enter image description here I've seen somehow similar questions on Android-SE (here and here ), but they use older versions of Android x86 and don't seem to have solutions that work for me. The VMs in both VMware and Virtualbox have: HDD=4GB(IDE), RAM=2GB, 2 CPUs and they boot through EFI. I've tried *nomodeset* and *xforcevesa* in the Grub boot parameters but nothing seems to work. The .iso does boot up though all the way to the GUI in Live mode (LiveCD). Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I have a feeling that the solution might be something linked to the graphics settings but i'm not exactly sure.

Today I downloaded the ISO file for the latest Android X86 (64-bit)version - the stable build for Android 6.0 AKA Marhmallow - from https://osdn.jp/projects/android-x86/downloads/65890/android-x86_64-6.0-r1 . I have installed this on a virtual machine with **2 processor cores**, **4 GB RAM** and **20 GB Storage** which I think is more than sufficient for this specific OS. Earlier I was having this problem where the system would boot into CLI and not GUI hence I googled a bit and followed the instructions from http://techanji.blogspot.in/2013/04/android-wont-boot-into-gui-only-command.html which worked perfectly fine and now I have proper Android boot logo but I kept my system to boot for 15 minutes without any progress which makes me think this has stuck at boot! **A bit about setup:** - I did **not** choose GPT for partioning - I have made one **primary partition** of 20 GB and made it boot partition - I have formatted my partition with **ext4** file system - I **installed GRUB** but **not EFI GRUB** Hopefully, these details are enough and you guys can help me with this. **PS: For those members who are in a hurry to mark a question as duplicate by just reading the question, I would like to kindly bring it to your notice that I have read and tried ALL the solutions to similar questions and none of them has worked so far, hence posting this question**

I had downloaded Android 6.0 Marshmallow's ISO from the net and tried to run it on VMware Workstation Player 12. It all went well. I was running it without installation so it asked me language which was default English. Sim Card was skipped. When WiFi connection was asked I skipped. It gave me a warning ... And I pressed skip anyway. Now the problem came. It gave me an error "Google Play Services unfortunately stopped" and redirected me back to language page and looped. I think it is because of internet connection which I am unable to configure. Kindly suggest me how to solve this problem. Thanks Harsh

I produce training video, I don't write code, and I'm not that familiar with configuring Android\Linux. I'd appreciate your help. I have exhausted online searches to figure out the following. **What I need** I need an Android x86 (4.4 or greater, preferably 5 or later) virtual device (VMWare, VirtualBox, or something else) to *not* display a mouse pointer and act like a touchsreen device. **Issue** I've tried numerous things, found through Google searches, and the mouse pointer is always displayed. My customer does not want a pointer, he wants it to look like a phone\t **My Environment** Windows 10 Pro x64 host computer with or without a TouchScreen VirtualBox 5.1 and VMWare Workstation 9 The virtual computers I've setup are Android x86 6.0 RC1 32bit running as a VirtualBox or VMWare virtual computer. **What I've tried** - In Windows 10, the host for the virtual computers, disable and also uninstall my mouse. The mouse in the virtual Android computer was still present. - In VirtualBox and VMWare, added lines to their config files that are supposed to make the virtual computer a touchScreen. - In VirtualBox, enable & disable mouse integration. - In Android, deleted all *.idc files at /system/usr/idc except for AV??.idc, qwerty.idc, qwerty2.idc, and touch_dev.idc (which I copied from my phone), touch.idc (which I wrote following a posting online), and made sure all listed the touch.??? = touchScreen

Hi I am running Windows 8 in VMWare Workstation 9 and I wanted to setup an android development environment, I installed Java the ADK and Android studio. When I create an AVD and try to start it it appears as a black screen with buttons pane. I think the problem is that I can't run an emulator within another emulator, but I just wanted to check in case anyone else has been successful. The errors it shows are: Failed to create pbuf surface for FB 0x3004 emulator: WARNING: Could not initialize OpenglES emulation, using software renderer. extension WGL_ARB_make_current_read was not found extension WGL_EXT_swap_control was not found I had difficulty searching for this because the results tend to be people trying to setup an android VM as a standalone, rather than running android development emulator in a Windows 8 VM like my setup.
