In the version history of my content blocker it says it can show the trackers that were blocked. I thought the content blocker apps in iOS don't have access to the URLs that were blocked?
From https://www.guidingtech.com/what-are-safari-content-blockers/ :
"Unlike ad blockers, Safari doesn’t access the rules within a content blocker in real-time. That prevents content blockers from profiling users by activity."
"They do not have access to your browsing activity since Safari loads all the rules in advance, hence preventing them from gaining access to sensitive information in any shape or form."
Has the content blocking architecture in iOS changed, now allowing content blocker apps to access the stuff that was blocked?

Is there a secure method to block ads within Safari? In order to block ads, most ad blockers require that they can see and change your encrypted traffic. This means that they would be able to see things like bank passwords transfer in clear text. My understanding is that on mobile Safari, ad blockers are not allowed to connect to the internet and simply block certain connections. Is there something similar on Safari for Mac where there is no way you could read and record private traffic?

How do I white list apps in AdGuard?
I use the DNS ad blocker AdGuard on my iPad which is nice but, some apps don’t work as intended when being blocked. I’d like to white list one of the games I play (Crossy Road.) How would I go about doing that?

Can Browsers on iOS use Content Blocking?
Can any of the third party browsers use the content blockers that are available in Safari? Is this an API limitation? For example none of the browsers like Firefox or DuckDuckGo apper to use the filters from [AdGuard](https://apps.apple.com/at/app/adguard-adblock-privacy/id1047223162?l=en).

You can also manually add filters and add sites on which you accept to see ads (e.g. apple.stackexchange.com).

The original website is still there, just that a new tab with ad site is opened and that interrupted my workflow. I had both enabled Adblock Plus (no whitelists) and disallowed pop-ups and redirects in the website setting (Google Chrome), but the pop-ups are not stopped. How can I prevent them?

I am using Version 12.1 (13607.1.40.1.5) of Safari.
If I go to Safari->Preferences->Extensions is shows that I have no extensions installed.
When I visit http://kmlviewer.nsspot.net , I press the "choose file" button and select a kml file. I then get the message:
"Please disable the adblock for free use."
If I go to Safari->Settings for This Website, "Enable Content Blockers" is unchecked, "Auto-Play" is set to "Allow all auto-play", and "Pop-Up Windows" is set to "Allow"
I do not see any other settings that would further disable ad blocking. Is there anything more I can do?
There are several sample kml files out there, but you can take the text from:
https://gist.github.com/EricG-Personal/589b293297f42759ba32dea3df04a7b5
and create your own .kml file easily.

Since installing Safari 12 and switching to the compatible version of my adblocker(s), many ads that were once successfully blocked by each of those adblockers are now visible, with the result that many frequently visited sites are (to this ad-allergic user) unusable.
Is this likely to be a temporary situation as the features for the compatible adblockers are (quickly!) improved and stabilized, and capabilities of my old adblockers are restored? Or is this the result of limitations imposed by the new Safari 12 architecture, and thus likely to persist (or improve glacially)?

But yesterday, I installed MacOS Mojave and I guess it upgraded my Safari so that traditional extensions don't work. However, when I go to the Mac App Store, there don't seem to be any adblocking apps that users claim actually work. Do I just have to get used to seeing junk at the top of my inbox again?

How do I block a specific JS file on Safari?
I have tried adding the full URL to the JS file on Adblock Filter, but it still loads. Is there anyway that I can block specific JS files? (Or any files, really). I know how to block hosts, but not specific urls/files.

One potential strategy I thought up is using iPhone's Web Restrictions features (accessible via General -> Restrictions -> Websites) to block content from certain sites (i.e. Taboola ads) from loading. I've tried doing this by adding
taboola.com
to the Never Allow
list, but I have had no luck.

Safari adblockers slow down browsing
I didn't realize it but a bit of checking tells me that both Adblock and Adblock Plus slow down the effective and actual speed of refresh of web pages. Is there a configuration or other setting that I am missing or is this the case with all Adblockers?
