I am a user of OS X, and would like to sync my Android device with iTunes. I still use an iPhone and have a bunch of existing podcasts, and sometimes I use desktop to listen to podcasts, so two-way synchronization of files as well as progress would be quite useful. By progress I refer to time as well as whether an episode was completed. There is no need to sync with iOS devices directly; syncing with desktop iTunes on OS X is perfectly fine. Any app that I found so far that even has sync apparently can sync only with itself on Android and iOS, but not with iTunes; or else it can import audio files from iTunes, ignoring progress.

I have a significant music collection on my computer, which I am still frequently adding to. While the songs I've downloaded in the last several years are all DRM free (either downloaded for free or on iTunes post-DRM), I have many songs from the iTunes-DRM era. I use an iPhone as my phone almost exclusively for this reason (to use DRM-laced songs). Recently I have become disillusioned with iPhones and am considering switching to one of the new Google Pixel phones. However, my biggest hangup is still being able to store all my music on my device. Now that Apple Music is available for iPhone, I was thinking it might be possible to access all my music on an Android phone--but I can't figure out conclusively if this will work. I have checked this official Apple page : > From your own collection > To add music that you imported from CDs, or bought from the iTunes Store or other sources, use iTunes on a Mac or PC. Make sure that you have the latest version of iTunes. > 1. Open iTunes. 2. Sign in to the iTunes Store with the same Apple ID that you use on your Android phone for Apple Music. 3. Turn on iCloud Music Library and wait for iTunes to finish updating your library. > Any music that you add to iTunes after you turn on iCloud Music Library will be available in Apple Music on your Android phone. However, I would like to avoid having to upload all my music to the iCloud Music Library (don't want to have to deal with that when I really just want to offload music straight from my computer to my device using a USB cord). **Can I transfer songs from my computer (Mac) to an Android phone that has Apple Music (or maybe some other software?) using a wired connection, _without_ having to upload everything to iCloud? If so, will this work even for iTunes-DRM-laced songs?** If iCloud is the only option, I will probably cave and do this, but only if it will work with _all_ my songs (from iTunes-DRM, iTunes-non-DRM, non-iTunes), and if I don't have to pay to store my songs on iCloud (again, I don't need to be able to access them from anywhere, just my computer and a single Android phone). Similar questions have been asked before, but are all out of date (3-6 years old).: - https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/1351/android-and-itunes - https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/6062/can-i-play-drm-music-from-itunes-on-my-android - https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/55199/how-do-i-get-this-itunes-song-on-an-android-device

Sync iTunes U and Android?
I am a huge fan of the podcasts on iTunes, as well as the iTunes U material. However, I'm having a terrible time finding a slick system to sync the two. Doubleplay never really worked all that great for me. Any other good solutions anyone has used? I have a Droid Incredible running 2.2.

What are the quickest ways to selectively sync iTunes artists (and ideally playlists) to Android? Has anyone designed any software that provides a quick and semi-automatic interface to do this, other than https://www.doubletwist.com/desktop ? Or is that the best option?

I am new to Android, coming from iPhones. I am after an app or a way that can allow me to play podcasts that I have already downloaded on my PC. In itunes, I just drag and drop the podcast episodes into the iPhone and the Podcast app automatically sorts and displays them ready for playing. All the ones I've tried for Android (i've tried about a dozen of the free ones), but none seem to offer this functionality. They all offer to subscribe and download directly on my phone. To sum up: I just need to play the files transferred from a PC, not download them, as I manage all my music and podcast from a central PC. I have tried just dragging the files inside separate folders into the phone, but they come up all jumbled in the music player app, though at least organised inside the folders. Any suggestions on APPs (ideally free ones as all I really need is an organiser style APP, nothing fancy) or even tweaking existing Android apps. Thanks in advance

I have searched this forum with no success for a few days, I apologize if this question has already been answered. I am a new Android user, switching from an iPhone to a Galaxy Note 3 with Ice Cream. I have tried using Samsung Kies 3 to replace the features I had with iTunes with no success. It reports complete syncs, but the information is not complete. It does not allow the user to manipulate the screens and organize apps the way iTunes allows. I am looking for software that has all the features of iTunes. I have found a few that are loaded with ads and very few features. So far, I have not found any app that allows me to manage apps in terms of updates. Google could have an app that can handle the basic needs of an Android user. I have not been able to find this. Your help is appreciated.

I don’t care how encoded my music are, but want to encode these without any loss. How do you guys manage your lossless music using iTunes + Google Play Music? I believe it’s not only my problem. **Edit**: Okay, I finally gave up, and encoded my all files encoded in ALAC/FLAC to normal AAC. There seems no way to use both at a time as of now.

I just switched from iPhone to the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and realized that music syncing isn't going to be the same - but maybe it can be better. I downloaded doubleTwist from the Play Store because it had gotten amazing reviews on the web and the reviews on the Play Store seemed to back up the love it was getting on the web. I tried to connect via USB and then became aware of the "USB mass storage" setting being unavailable in Jelly Bean 4.1.1. I paid for doubleTwist AirSync and it stunk. So now, if I just move folders of music over to my Note 2, it's all recognized by the standard player, but I'd really like to sync it all and not just add and delete folders. Is there one good app that will sync my music, let me create play lists, show album art and details and won't force me to sync over Wi-Fi? When it comes down to it, is there a way to get functionality like iTunes, but for Android?

My setups: - I use iSyncr for PC to sync my Android devices with iTunes. - I use PlayerPro Music Player which hooks with iSyncr's system. Ratings and Play Counts are synced with iTunes both ways, but that's not true for Lyrics of music. If I add Lyrics in iTunes (Right Click ~> Get Info ~> Lyrics (tab)), I can see it in PlayerPro on Android. But, when I download lyrics using PlayerPro (Long Tap ~> View Lyrics), I fail to find it in iTunes after sync. I have searched filesystems of Android devices to find any file, database containing Lyrics, but it seems that PlayerPro saves it in ID3 tag of music files. So, I don't see where's the problem. I have got the feeling that iSyncr doesn't sync back for such things, but I am not sure. How to sync Lyrics from Android to iTunes on PC? I can use alternatives for lyrics sync & lyrics download as long as I can view lyrics in PlayerPro & other syncs work as before. **Update:** PlayerPro support has confirmed that lyrics is saved inside music file. In case something goes wrong, it is saved in .lyr file in the directory of music.

Is it possible, and what is the best / best free way to sync iTunes to an Android device, having all the music transferred that would be transferred to an iPod? Is it possible to have more transferred? ---------------------------------------- The main purpose is to transport the files from a mac to a windows machine so we can process it there, playing experience on the device is secondary. We have music from many sources, in many formats, inside/outside of the library folder. Some are not stored but streamed from the Internet when we play them. (When we try to burn CD's, or export with some app, typically only a few files are exported)
