I have an issue with my smartphone, the "open with" option doesn't work properly, so when I click on a link (from gmail for example or to open a file) normally I am given the choice to choose on which application I want to open it, but since the last update (miui 12.5 to 13 / android 11 to 12) I can't choose , when I click on "plus" or "more" in the "open with" window to have the choices it doesn't show any suggestions and select randomly an application (sometimes chrome, other times tor/edge/mi browser ... etc).
* device : xiaomi poco f2 pro
* miui version : 13.0.2 stable
* Android version : 12 SKQ 1.211006.001
Issue in the android framework(I think):
com.android.internal.app.MiuiResolverActivity
What should I do? Please help me up.

Recently, I've found that Google Messages doesn't show a contact name for most of the messages. It's just a phone number displayed. When I click on Details, there is no contact information. When I go to contact via Contacts (Google) app then the number is here.
It doesn't show contact both on the phone and at https://messages.google.com .
The app has permission to allow Contacts.
App version:
messages.android_2022101_01_RC02.phone_dynamic
Mobile OS: MIUI 13.0.15 / Android 12 SKQ1.210908.001
Any ideas on how to fix it?

My phone is a Xiaomi Poco X3 pro, running Android 12 (QKQ1), and it says it has MIUI Global 13.0.4 stable. Firefox is version 118.1.1. With Firefox, I am able to access the internet through Wi-Fi, but not using mobile data. With Chrome, both work.
I have checked the permissions (Wi-Fi and mobile data are allowed), and even deleted and re-installed Firefox, and also reset the AP settings associated with my SIM card. Nothing helped.
I should say that in the past no such problems had occurred, but I do not know when exactly this problem started to occur.
Another observation is (and I am not sure whether that could be related) that some apps seem to sometimes lose network connectivity until I restart them. For example, I have a public transport app to search for connections and buy tickets, which sometimes hangs until I remove it from memory and restart it. This problem seems not to occur with other people using the same app at the same time and place (but on another phone).
What else can I check to solve this problem?

After the upgrade from MIUI 12 to MIUI 13 on my Xiaomi Poco X3 NFC, the app permissions somehow got messed up. For example: I have some apps that usually run in the background and they now get inactive when locking the phone.
When I inspect the granted permissions of the app, they are shown as granted, but they are not. A workaround I found is uninstalling the app and installing it again, but this isn't a real solution for me.
Is there a way to let all apps ask again for their permission without reinstalling them?
P.S. the phone is stock, no root, no custom bootloader.

I am using Redmi Note 11 running on Custom ROM -
My device is rooted via Magisk. I want to edit the
Xiaomi Eu
Specs:

hosts
file. I have tried using ADB, CX File Explorer, X-Plore Manager but I am unable to edit it.
Apparently none of the methods are able to write on /system
partition because it is Read Only System
.
I looked up online and tried mounting it as writable via ADB using
adb shell
su
mount -o rw,remount /system
Output : /system not in /proc/mounts
And
mount -o rw,remount /
Output : /dev/block/dm-0 is read only
adb root
and disable-verity
aren't working either.
It is so annoying. I had to wait 5 days to unlock the bootloader. Spent whole night installing Custom ROM and rooting my device. And all of it for nothing.
Please help.

I have migrated my daughters phone from Microsoft Launcher to Google Family Link. Everything works as expected (or even better) but the problem we're facing is that we cannot uninstall Microsoft stuff from the phone -- namely Microsoft Launcher and Microsoft Family Safety.
Steps:
1. We locate the application's icon in the app drawer (Android 11, Xiaomi Redmi 11S, MIUI 13) and trying to uninstall it the regular way:
2. We're hit with the confirmation message:
3. After so-called uninstallation process corresponding icon disappears:
4. Only to reappear about 2-3 seconds later:
Microsoft stuff (FamilySafety and Lanuncher) are the only apps that we cannot uninstall, we can uninstall any other without any problems.
As you can see, a bare Google / MIUI app drawer and launcher is in use. Microsoft Launcher has been (successfully?) removed as a home screen launcher.
What we're doing wrong or how can I get rid of it?

I am trying to extract the image folder for the cloned Telegram app from my Redmi Note 10 Pro (Android 12, MIUI 13.0.15, no root), but with no success.
This folder is under
/emulated/999/android/data
, but no file explorer seem to be able to read its content and Google hasn't been able to give me a solution so far.
Is there a way to actually access that folder, either through the phone or with a Windows/Linux PC?

I've been experiencing strange behaviour when making calls with my Redmi Note 9S. Whenever I try to call someone or pickup a call from someone, if it's the first time I've called them in an unknown amount of time (maybe a few hours or so), they aren't able to hear me. I have to end the call, and then redial for them to be able to hear me.
I can hear them without issue, and the problem persists regardless of whether I'm using the built-in mic or headphone speakers.
I'm on MIUI Global 12.5.6 with a prompt to update to MIUI 13, but this update seems to be broken as it fails whether it downloads the update itself or I download it manually and pass the update file into the update manager. It fails for seemingly inconsistent reasons, where either the download fails or it can't install the update. Maybe this could be the problem?

I have a device with MIUI 13, that removed (hid) the Android stock multi-user feature that I need.
I recalled the activity to show the multi-user feature in settings via shortcut maker (adding accounts works normally), but unfortunately, the lock screen UI doesn't show the switch user shortcuts. So, the only way to switch is to enter in multi-user menu and choose one, but with a PIN-protected device, it's not applicable.
Then I need a way to "programmatically" switch to a user with an intent/activity (sorry, I never developed on Android, some concept is not too clear at this time), exactly how to the Android stock lock screen UI does. Having a way to do that in this way, I can place a quick setting tile to achieve my target.
Someone can push me in the right way?

> Device : _Redmi Note 11_ (_MIUI 13.0.10.0_ with _Android 11_) using the default launcher
**Problem:** Whenever a notification gets dismissed (even without opening it) the badge counter attached to the respective app disappears.
The badge counter will remain visible on the app icon as long as the notification is not dismissed from the notification area.
**Expected behaviour:** This is a common behaviour to keep the badge counter visible on the respective app if there are any unread notifications, but this is not happening.
**Question:** Is this a bug? Is there a way to keep the badge counter visible on the app even after dismissing the notification from the notification area?

*(Previously I used Motorola with Moto Launcher. I installed Pixel Launcher over it. And, there I can force stop Moto Launcher, which will start again at next reboot)*
