KVM switch for Apple Studio Display (USB-C / Thunderbolt)

I'm interested in buying the new 5K retina 2022 [Apple Studio Display](https://www.apple.com/studio-display/) . However, I use a personal Mac and a work Mac at the same desk.
Frequently switching cables between the two Macs whenever I want to use the display would be annoying. The Studio Display does not offer input switching, and only one of the USB-C / Thunderbolt ports on the back is capable of connecting to the host computer.
How can I easily switch Macs connected to the Studio Display?
Is there a [KVM switch](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KVM_switch) (Keyboard, Video, Mouse) switch capable of swapping between Macs connected to the Studio Display?
I'm looking for something like the old VGA KVM switch below, but for USB-C, Thunderbolt, DisplayPort, or whatever else is needed for the new Apple Studio Display.
The switch should ideally pass along the monitor's speakers and webcam, along with any peripherals connected to its USB-C ports.
I'm unable to find any Thunderbolt 3 or 4 KVM switches. Some USB-C KVM switches do seem to exist, but I'm unsure if this new Apple Studio Display works with them properly. Some state they do not work with Apple or Thunderbolt devices.
The same question was asked for the older Apple Thunderbolt Display here:

MacBook pro 16 inch 2019 keeps forgetting KVM settings

I have a KVM setup that connects several computers to the same Keyboard (Kul ES-87) and Mouse (wireless logitech M525). My monitors are 24 inch, 1920x1200 resolution Dell (2412M and 2415). I connect an Ubuntu machine, one Late 2013 Macbook Pro and a brand new 2019 Macbook Pro 16 inch purchased last week (henceforth, just "MBP 16") for work to this KVM setup (IOGear GCS24U). The MBP16 has AMD Radeon Pro 5300M 4 GB
& Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB and has the latest, updated software.
The Ubuntu and the Late 2013 MBP machines connect just fine to my KVM, and have had for years now, but the MBP16 has been extremely flaky with the KVM. The result of the flakiness: it doesn't recognize the VGA monitor (Dell U2412Mb) and after it fails, requires heavy-handed approaches (see below) to fix. I am not sure if these approaches are sustainable.
I connect the two external monitors to the MBP16 in the following way using two separate USB-C ports on the MBP16:
* MBP16 port 1 -> Benfei USB-C 2 VGA -> KVM (VGA) -> (VGA) Dell 2412Mb // Mostly flaky
* MBP16 port 3 -> Anker USB-C 2 DisplayPort -> (DisplayPort) Dell 2415 // Always works
(MBP16 port 2 is used for a USB 2.0 hub for ethernet, mic, KVM mouse and keyboard; MBP16 port 4 is used for power.)
I see that the MBP16 connects to the U2415, no problems ever noted. The VGA connection through the Benfei adapter and U2412Mb frequently is flaky (see definition of flaky below). It requires a combination of me switching the KVM port for the MBP16 or reconnecting the VGA on the KVM switch itself that makes the MBP16 recognize the U2412Mb again.
What do I mean by flaky? It works fine so long as it was recognized: wakes up from sleep and re-recognizes the VGA display; after switching to another KVM port, re-recognizes the VGA display. However, if I remove the MBP16 and take it outside of the KVM world (e.g., work on sofa) and get it back, it forgets the VGA. And then it requires all kinds of heavy-handedness to re-recognize the VGA.
* I am not daisy chaining monitors through a hub (see connection description above).
* I am running the latest OS on my MBP16 (11.3.1).
* I have tried, instead of the Benfei USB-C adapter, (1) An apple-store purchased Belkin VGA to USB-C adapter (which did not work at all) (2) an Apple adapter to thunderbolt and then a thunderbolt to USB-C (didn't work at all); (3) a CableCreation multiadapter with Ethernet and VGA to USB-C (worked for 20 minutes). That said, I didn't try using a different KVM port when I tried approaches (1)--(3) above. Also note, a direct connection from Benfei USB-C 2 VGA to the Dell 2412Mb works fine.
* Last, but not the least, I tried both NVRAM and SMC reset multiple times, didn't do anything.
What is the secret to appeasing the "it just works" Apple gods? Any insight is appreciated.
PS: Post question rant: FWIW, I have noticed it never "it just works" with Apple gear. NFS, CIFS, Guest access, USB connections, USB-based Ethernet, iMessage forwarding, call forwarding to other Apple products, all of which, in my over-a decade experience, has never "it just works" and it always breaks from one release to another.

To help in context, I'm using a Windows Computer and an Air M2 Mac.
They are both connected to a KVM which switches between computers while keeping my devices (KB, mouse, and dual monitor). My Mac's lid is closed when I'm working on this setup.
If I have something to do on my PC, I switch the KVM to PC then back to my Mac. Then, I have to open the lid of the Mac to get to power on; then I close it again.
**How can I prevent my Mac going into sleep when switching between computers?**
I tried
caffeinate -i -s
and I tried changing settings in lockscreen.

I have two MacBook Pros (one for work; one personal) that I want to connect to one monitor, one keyboard, and one mouse, and be able to switch between the two easily. Typically I'd opt to purchase a KVM switch, but it's been a while since I've needed that type of setup. My questions are:
1. Are KVM switches even needed anymore for MacBook Pros? Is there some sort of magic Wi-Fi / Bluetooth / Airplay device that can perform the same function?
2. If KVM switches (or something similar) are still used, what's a good make / model that works well with Macbooks?
3. Is a hardware solution even needed anymore? Is there software that can perform the same functions? (For example: Logitech Flow https://www.howtogeek.com/317962/how-to-use-logitech-flow-for-mice-and-keyboards-across-multiple-computers/)
Thank you!

I have a new Mac Mini M2 connected with a USB-C / Thunderbolt to DisplayPort cable with the ATEN 4 Port USB 3.0 4K DisplayPort KVMP Switch with the model number CS1924 for Video.
I also have a USB3 Cable from an USB-A Port connected to the ATEN KVMP switch.
When I connect the USB-C / Thunderbolt to DisplayPort cable directly with the monitor, I get a perfectly fine 4K image. But when I add the switch in the chain (DP to DP cable from switch to monitor) the monitor stays in power safe.
But it works, when I start with a direct connection and later disconnect and reconnect with the KVM switch in-between.

I have a few computers connected through a KVM and one of my macOS systems has two monitors attached: the KVM attached display and a second display. When I switch off of the Mac, the still connected display becomes the primary display and things shift around, however I'd like to find a way to keep the non-active display that's attached through the KVM still "alive" to macOS such that both displays remain active as far as the operating system is concerned.
I'm not seeing any software mechanisms that facilitate this - is there a setting I'm missing that can allow this?
Or would some kind of a "dummy" dongle for the system be helpful to attach the KVM through to the display to make macOS think the display is still active?
Any thoughts or options to make this work would be appreciated!

I'm wondering if there is a way to use my laptop macOS machine to control the other one? So the monitor, keyboard, and mouse on my laptop one would connect to my other macOS. That way I don't need a KVM and can just use the monitor+keyboard+mouse on my laptop plus the external monitor hooked up to the laptop.
And I do not mean remote desktop or VNC. I know how those work and that is not what I want. I am interested in more of a first party connection.

I gave up on the idea of using this KVM for now, but I am starting to wonder if I am in the wrong direction for this day and age.
I did a search about HDMI streaming through Wifi, and found this:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/s?k=Wireless+Display+Adapter+osx+windows+keyboard&crid=2I1RG78I3VB6Z&sprefix=wireless+display+adapter+osx+windows+keyboard%2Caps%2C79&ref=nb_sb_noss
I am lost.
I want to be able to use one external keyboard and mouse and one screen with three computers: a PC laptop, and two Macbooks with latest macOS. The PC laptop has regular USB connection, one Macbook has HDMI and USB-C, and the other only USB-C. I have many adaptors of many kinds, but some might be incompatiable, as I read online.
The keyboard/mouse I have are wireless and have a USB dongle through which they communicate with the device (one device).
In this zoo of devices, adapters and cables, what am I looking for? I just want to connect several devices to one keyboard/mouse/screen and am lost...

So, I just decided to get a KVM because switching inputs was annoying for my work at home setup. The issue I'm running into though is that the macbook doesn't identify my 2 external displays correctly on connect. It requires a reboot for them to identify correctly.
When they are identified incorrectly, they come up as "ITE-FHD" instead of the "LG 4k HDR" identifier they normally show. The resolution is terrible and the colors are completely off.
Anyone have any advice? I'm mostly a Windows/Linux user, and use the macbook for work as required.
Edit to add: rebooting the macbook fixes the issue, but this happens anytime it wakes from sleep, which is often when I step away from the desk for a bit.

I have a work and personal MacBook Pro and frequently switch between one and the other. All of my devices are connected through a USB-C docking station, so for the most part this is as easy as unplugging a cable from one computer and plugging it into another. However, when it comes to using any Bluetooth peripheral devices like keyboards, mice, trackpads, or headphones, it can be frustrating to switch them over to controlling the other device (especially since some devices aren't capable of storing multiple profiles, while others try to connect to multiple sources simultaneously as a "feature").
I'm wondering, if I just bought a simple USB Bluetooth adapter and plugged it into my USB-C hub, would I be able to pair my computer peripherals to the adapter rather than directly to my Mac?

I have a setup of a Mac Mini and a MacBook Pro connected to a KVM switch that allows me to share my monitors, mouse and keyboard between both of them by pushing a single button.
When I switch to the MacBook Pro, the Mac mini stays put. When I switch back I see my desktops or maybe the screensaver.
When I switch to the Mac mini, the MacBook Pro immediately goes to sleep. When I switch back I have to wake it up (takes a while).
My guess is that this is happening because since the KVM is showing the contents of the Mac mini to the monitors, the MacBook Pro is kinda like if it's closed with no monitor attached.
How can I prevent it from going to sleep?

I'd like to buy a new monitor and have been looking at models that have an in-built **KVM** switch functionality as this would both reduce cabling/connections and enable me to use the monitor for home and Work-From-Home easily. I'm aware I could get a separate KVM , but one that's already in the monitor seems ideal.
I have a home MacMini (2020, M1) and a work MacBook Pro (16" late 2019, Intel) . Both have USB-C connectors with Thunderbolt 3 which both state:
> Native DisplayPort output over USB‑C
in the technical specs (linked above).
I'm aware that I may need specific cables such as Apple Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) Cable
_Before buying the monitor_, is there any way to verify that at least one of the Macs has the required feature/signalling to communicate to the monitor so that it can use the KVM feature?
This whole question was brought up by a review of the monitor which mentioned the DisplayPort Alt Mode issue.

I have a new 2020 Apple MacBook Pro with two Thunderbolt 3 USB-C ports on each side, and I have an old desktop Windows 10 PC with a GeForce GTX 970 graphics card that has 2 DVI outputs, 1 HDMI output, and 1 DisplayPort output.
As shown in the diagram, I also have 1 keyboard, 1 mouse, and 1 headset.
Throughout the day, I sometimes need to use the MacBook, and sometimes I need to use the PC. (I have no desire for them to communicate with each other or share files.)
Goal: I'd love if my 1 keyboard, 1 mouse, and 1 headset would automatically work with whichever of the 2 computers I wanted to be using at the moment, and I'd love if the active computer would display an extended desktop across 2 monitors too (and I'll leave the MacBook Pro lid closed).
I've heard that MacBook's don't support Multi-Stream Transport (MST) ("daisy-chaining"). Is that true of mine too? https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT210754 is unclear.
Daisy-chaining was just one idea, and if it's not possible, I still want to achieve my goal.
I am willing to buy whatever is necessary to accomplish my goal (e.g. whichever two 23"+ monitors, whichever cable adapters or KVM switches, etc), but I can't figure out whether what I'm trying to do is even possible. What would work?
UPDATE: Or what about this diagram using 3 USB-C cables on the MacBook Pro? Maybe certain monitors act as a KVM ?
P.S. I used https://app.creately.com for drawing the diagram, which I mention in case you'd find it easiest to draw something when answering.

I bought https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07M66SD79/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 but when I swapped to the MacB...

I bought https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07M66SD79/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 but when I swapped to the MacBook Pro which is USB-C only nothing worked. I'm currently using it for the Mac Mini, but I need a solution that actually lets me switch between both.
I'm not really interested in having it act as a power supply for either because those are seem wildly expensive and I already have power supplies for them.
If I have to: https://www.aten.com/global/en/products/usb-&-thunderbolt/docking-switches/us3310/ seems as though it would work, but they seem focused on having a latop and smartphone plugged in. Not a laptop and mac mini. Power supply seems concerning here.

I want to connect at least the windows laptop with the new macbook (and maybe the old one). My goal is to use my dell monitor, logitech bluetooth keyboard (which has a bluetooth receiver) and the logitech mosue (which also has a bluetooth receive that is plugged in).
What type of device(s) do I need to connect them? I would prefer something that makes it easy to switch between laptops.

I have a Linux PC tower, two monitors (one HDMI the other DisplayPort), and a keyboard/mouse.
I also have a 2020 Macbook Pro 13". I'd like to be able to use my two monitors + keyboard and mouse with my Macbook without having to unplug them from my Linux PC.
I'm aware I should get a docking station for the MacBook. However, I'm not sure how to share the monitors, keyboard, and mouse between the two computers.
Is there a simple KVM switch that will work?
Thanks.
