I want to convert .mov to .mp4! I saved the video from iMovie but it is in .mov format! How do I convert it to .mp4? I'm using a MacBook and I want to share it to my phone, but my phone can't open .mov format video.

I have several Photos libraries; my system library that's synced with iCloud, and some additional libraries for things that I want to keep but don't need to have available all the time. Here's my workflow for getting photos into those libraries: 1. Take photos and videos with my iPhone XS Max. 2. Wait for them to appear in my system library through iCloud sync. 3. Export them to a folder using `File > Export > Export Unmodified Original... with Export IPTC as XMP` checked. 4. Open the destination Photos library. 5. Drag the exported folder onto "Photos" under "Library" in the sidebar to import its contents. This worked fine up until Catalina. Export still seems to work fine, and import works fine for images, but it no longer works for videos. Now when I drag my exported folder into Photos it imports the images, but gives the following error message for each video: > ** Invalid: Unsupported resource set: video,xmp ** This only appears for videos that are pure video. Live Photos with a video component import fine. The videos are all HEVC in a .mov container, recorded on an iPhone with iOS 13, synced with iCloud, and exported from Photos in Catalina, so they are definitely not an incompatible or older codec. I can import the videos by themselves, without the .xmp files. They appear to have all their metadata intact, so maybe the .xmp files are no longer necessary. Anybody know why this is no longer working?

I was recording a very important video with Photobooth. Unfortunately, near the end, it ran out of file space. So it was recording, and there is a 1 TB MOVE file there, but the end is missing. This means the file will not play at all. Is there any method I can use to recover the file, at least the minutes recorded up until the file space ran out?

My QuickTime doesnt want to play a .mov file. I tried to convert .mov to .mp4 format using cloud convert but it gave error message: Converter error: oov atom not found . PCO11_059_RM.mov: Invalid data found when processing input. I've got the latest OS X software, 10.11 El Capitan, which I'm assuming would give me the latest QuickTime Player. Any clues?

I have some videos I made on my iPhone and copied to my computer. I deleted them from my iPhone. Now when I play them though using Photos v4.0 on macOS 10.14.2 I see parts are in slow motion. They are .MOV files. How can I fix them so they do not play in slow motion?

Videos shot with iOS are saved as MOV container. MOV is not supported by Android. So what is the best way to email a video to Android? I'm really surprised I couldn't find an easy answer for this with googling. It would be great if it automatically transwrapped to MP4. I don't want to use a computer, and I would prefer not to use a third-party app if possible.

After reinstalling the operating system (OS X EL Capitan) I can't open video files in .mov format. I can open them using VLC but I can't open them in QuickTime and Adobe Premiere - what could be wrong? Maybe I need some codecs?

Since I updated to Yosemite, the .mov previews in Finder no longer show up for videos with an older codec. (When I double click the video, it starts a conversion process.) Is there any way I can see previews of my videos without needing to convert them all? Even if there's a software I can download to see the previews, that is fine. It's too much work to convert all of the videos to see what they are.

I'm trying to rotate an iPhone 4S vid 90degrees Counter Clockwise. I've seen lots of posts and answers that say there is an 'Edit > Rotate Left' option in Quicktime Player. I can't see it! I have QT Player 10.0 on Snow Leopard. Could someone help me out? I've tried various other apps, and even though some of them have worked, none have managed to rotate it in a format that can then be synced back to the iPhone (for editing work in iMovie iOS app and Vimeo app). Notes: I don't have iLife or QT Pro, just QT Player :/ Thanks!

I made a copy of a DVD and two sets of subtitles (Hebrew and English). Both subtitles are optional and only VLC can display them. I am trying to edit out a scene of the movie. QuickTime can do this, but can also only save the file as a mov afterwards, which destroys the subtitles. When I edit and export to m4v, the subtitles are allegedly still there but even VLC cannot display them any more. How can I edit an m4v file with optional subtitles without destroying the subtitles?

I've installed the Perian addon for Quicktime so it can open .flv files, and then I can save them as .m4v or .mov. I'm trying to make an Applescript to convert from .flv to .m4v automatically by using [this tutorial](http://homepage.mac.com/swain/Macinchem/Applescript/AppScript_tut/AppScrip_tut_1/appscript_tut_1.htm) and butchering their example applescript file, which normally converts ChemDraw files (.cdx, .cml, .mol) to .tiff, so that it instead uses Quicktime to save the .flv files as .m4v. When I try to use it, though, I get an error "QuickTime Player got an error: document 1 doesn't understand the save message". My save message is currently: >save first document in target_path as ".m4v" which looks like the QuickTime dictionary's instructions: >**save** specifier : The document(s) or window(s) to save. > >[**as** saveable file format] : The file format to use. I've also tried "m4v", without the period, and still get the error. Is my Save direction wrong, or is it probably an error from trying to use Quicktime instead of the original ChemDraw? I tried to change references to .cdx, .cml, .mol, .tiff, and ChemDraw to .flv, .m4v, and QuickTime respectively, but maybe it's more complicated than that? I would, in fact, appreciate any example showing how to save an application file (ex: a TextEdit .rtf or .txt), as I can't seem to get any kind of file to save using applescript.
