I'm trying to use the web-based architectural program [Enscape](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enscape) to view a 3D rendering. Every time I click to pan around the 3D world, Safari presents the banner: Your mouse pointer is hidden. Press Esc (Escape) once to dismiss this banner. Press Esc again to reveal your mouse pointer. > Your mouse pointer is hidden. Press Esc (Escape) once to dismiss this banner. Press Esc again to reveal your mouse pointer. This appears to be some kind of security banner being shown by Safari in response to whatever technique the web app is using to hide the mouse cursor. Firefox on the same Mac shows a similar banner: has control of your pointer. Press Esc to take back control. > enscape3d.com has control of your pointer. Press Esc to take back control. The problem is that the banner pops up and down briefly every single time I click or hold down the mouse button to pan around in the CAD app. This moves the rest of the view frame down, resulting in a glitchy and jumpy visual display as I'm using the app. Like the text says, the banner hides when I press Escape and the mouse cursor is shown when I press Escape again. But the banner always comes back the next time I click so this is not a useful solution. Very annoying visual glitch that makes it almost impossible to use the web app. Is this a feature in Safari? Is there any way to turn off the notification banner permanently? (The Firefox version is also annoying, but at least pops up above the content and does not push the entire website content down.)

Is there a way to manually create that webapp shortcut in OSX (similar to Windows shortcuts with cmd line arguments) so that I can reliably open the actual doc I want in the shortcut.

iPad Pro 11-inch no audio on Quick, Draw! website with Google
When I open the website [Quick, Draw!](https://quickdraw.withgoogle.com/) and start doodling, the speech audio doesn’t work. I can see the text typing on screen but no audio is heard. Are there any settings on my tablet that I should change to make it work?

I used to have a few "Desktop Apps" for Gmail created as shortcuts, following these steps: ⠇(top right) > **More tools** > **Create Shortcut** > **Open as Window** I'd then have one app per Gmail account. It worked perfectly. Now, it's no longer possible. If you create one Gmail app per account using the above steps, a **single** Desktop Gmail app is created, with the various accounts "nested" as windows. This is incredibly bad as you can't use the standard Cmd+Tab to switch between windows and, more importantly, every time you close the app, you have to manually re-add ALL the accounts to that single Gmail app. How can we go back to the previous behavior? Any workaround? I'm on Mac and tried to edit the info.plist files unsuccessfully.

I am having some issues when trying to use my PC keyboard on my Mac. I decided to get back my keyboard because it is too uncomfortable to use the typical Cmd + C/X/V/Z/F commands. What I did is to map in **Keyboard** > **Shortcuts** > **App Shortcuts** the "All Applications" those shortcuts and in most of the applications they work well, but somehow not in Google Chrome. Inside the context of Google Chrome as an application, they work well (for example, in the Settings menu) but when you have a focused webpage, they don't. I suspect the web application overrides this and listens only to the "traditional" Mac shortcuts but I have no clue on how to tell Chrome to avoid this. This is a big issue because I work a lot in Google Docs and not having my shortcuts workings is painful. Here is a screenshot of my settings. ![Screenshot of the Keyboard Preferences Pane ][1] Can I configure chrome to not gobble up the key shortcuts the OS should process for Google docs and sheets web applications?

So a few of my mac users are having an issue where when using Mac Safari or Chrome (latest versions) when they try to use our upload features then in some cases allowed files such as pdf, xls, png, etc display as gray and are disabled not allowing them to upload. When I try to reproduce this issue on a tester Mac with the same versions and everything I can not reproduce the issue and everything works as expected. My question is; is there some setting or something they might need to check/uncheck that could be the culprit as to why on their macs they are getting these files grayed out and disabled in the file upload dialogs from the browsers? I'm not a mac guy so I'm a bit lost.

Can a website access Apple Health data?
Apps on the phone can. Is it possible to use that health data on a website? Reading the docs (and I don't understand them well yet), it seems like there could be an option if it was a clinic record? https://developer.apple.com/documentation/healthkit/samples/accessing_health_records

I'm completely new to development for Mac OS X but I want to have a Mac desktop app for my own small project. What I have in my mind is to have web application (will use the same app running on the web) running in some kind of wrapper window and pack everything in .app file so it could be run just by clicking icon and will not run in a browser. So in short - I have web application written in html+css+js and want to run in some kind of wrapper and make it look and act like desktop app. The best way to do that? Do I need to write some kind of wrapper app in Objective-C which basically will have window and will use WebKit to load my files? Or maybe there is already a solution for it which could be used? The best example I can find quickly of this is http://brackets.io/ where a web app is packaged to look like a compiled app and runs on my Mac.

I understand that this is best done by installing dnsmasq. For macOS, # brew install dnsmasq and then # echo "address=/test/127.0.0.1" >> /usr/local/dnsmasq.conf # launchctl start dnsmasq # launchctl list | grep dns 89254 0 homebrew.mxcl.dnsmasq so, if I understand this correctly, ping abc.test should now ping localhost. alas, it does not. (or, is there a better way to test?) I also do not understand how to shut down and restart dnsmasq. launchctl restart dnsmasq, launchctl kill dnsmasq.mxcl.dnsmasq, and launchctl disable 89254 (and many permutations thereof) all seem to elicit scorn but no results.

I would like to have a web app to be the only thing you can use with an iPad. I managed to make the website (a simple HTML file with lots of integrated JS) open full screen when added to the home screen as a starter, so there are no browser controls, just the app and a black panel displaying battery status and clock. On the other hand I can use the Apple Configurator 2 to lock the iPad to a single app like Safari but in Safari I have all the browser controls. What I would like to achieve is locking the iPad to use the web app full screen. However, I cannot do this, because in the Apple Configurator I can only choose from the apps installed on the MacBook it is executed on. Since the web app is not a proper app but just a starter on the iPad's home screen, it is not listed amongst the MacBook's apps. Is there a possibility to have the iPad locked into the web app in full screen, without browser controls?

When I search Google about HTML5 offline features I can only find some answers dated 2010 / 2011. Nothing recent appears. Besides the web app behaves erratic on iOS: sometimes it will work, even when navigating several times to cached pages, and then, all of a sudden, it "decides" it needs Internet connection and then, impossible to reload the home page from either the home screen icon, of from an URL in Safari. "Not connected!". I'm using a manifest file called "example.appcache" and the related mime type is duly declared on my IIS 7 server. Does someone have recent answers?
