Would a shortcut be a possible way? I don't see a good mechanism for this.
Or maybe I'm missing some general obvious built-in functionality for disabling/enabling two related functions?

My iPhone is not currently allowing calls using this Mac. I’d like help to troubleshoot and enable this feature.
**iPhone Settings** > **Cellular** > **Allow Calls on Other Devices** is off. I tried to turn it on:
>Cannot Turn On Calls on Other Devices — FaceTime and iCloud must be signed in to the same Apple ID to enable Calls on Other Devices.
**iPhone Settings** > **FaceTime** is on.
iPhone/Settings/General/About
I opened FaceTime on my Mac, **Settings** > **Calls from phone** is checked.
What might I be missing?

Make "no" for WiFi calling permanent
Every time we reboot one of our iPads, we are asked to enable WiFi calling.  How do we make it stop asking?  The answer is always No. We do our calling on our iPhones.

Can you explain this Wi-Fi Calling dialogue?

When you try to turn on Wi-Fi Calling on iPhone (Settings->Cellular->Wi-Fi Calling->Wi-Fi Calling on This iPhone, using iOS 11.0.3) you get an interesting pop-up message:
> **Enable Wi-Fi Calling?**
>
> When you join a network, the country where the network connection is made may be sent to your carrier and your cellular identity may be sent to the Wi-Fi network operator. The city may be sent to the carrier for routing short code calls. This can be changed in Settings.
What does this mean? I was just going to turn it on to help make better calls in my house, though I guess people might use Wi-Fi calling to save on charges when traveling abroad. But why would the carrier and "Wi-Fi network operators" need to know each other's information? And what is this other setting they are referring to?
Finally, another question related to this same page: The second option is "Prefer Wi-Fi While Roaming." What if you want to prefer Wi-Fi even when you aren't roaming?

Annoying FaceTime popup when using iPhone to make calls gets in the way and I can't dismiss it
This keeps popping up in the upper right of my screen, it blocks access to anything underneath and I can't get rid of it. How do I disable this? I believe it's referring to my ECHO but who knows. [![FaceTime Call via iPhone popup][1]][1] [1]: https://i.sstatic.net/sL98u.png

I am trying to **FaceTime** someone who lives abroad from a shared Mac computer.
My contacts are not synced with this computer.
When I click the "**New FaceTime**" window, I am prompter to
Enter a name, email, or number
However, neither a name, number or email that I have tried entering made the FaceTime button active.
**Was it because FaceTime cannot find the person? Can you FaceTime someone abroad from a MacOS?**

Per this [Apple support doc](https://support.apple.com/guide/ipad/make-and-receive-phone-calls-ipadf97892b2/ipados) you should be able to configure your iPhone/iPad pair so you have true WiFi calling and \[it\] “allows iPad and other devices where you’re signed in with the same Apple ID to make and receive calls **even when your iPhone isn’t nearby**”. (emphasis added)
This has been working for me for years, but I had some mishap with my devices were I logged in/out of my Apple IDs. Now I cant make/receive calls on my iPad unless it goes through the iPhone. As soon as the iPhone is not connected to the same WiFi, the iPad won’t do calls.
How can I fix this? AppleCare was worse than useless.
ETA:
Tried
* sign out of iCloud on both devices, reboot, sign in
* resetting Network
* resetting All Settings

In the [documentation](https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204681) they say that the devices should be connected to the same wifi network:
>
- Each device is signed in to iCloud with the same Apple ID.
- Each device is signed in to FaceTime with the same Apple ID.
- **Each device has Wi-Fi turned on.**
- **Each device is connected to the same network using Wi-Fi or Ethernet.**
- On iPhone, go to Settings > Phone > Calls on Other Devices, then turn on Allow Calls on Other Devices.
- On iPad or iPod touch, go to Settings > FaceTime, then turn on Calls from iPhone.
- On Mac, open the FaceTime app, then choose FaceTime > Preferences. Click Settings, then select Calls From iPhone.
(emphasis mine)
My MacBook is connected to the Internet using the iPhone hotspot.
By this setup is this supposed to work? I get *call failed*.
However, when I'm home, connected to the router wifi, I can use FaceTime to call using my iPhone (both devices being connected to the router wifi).
Is there any hope to get this working when using Hotspot?

I don't know if this is the correct way to describe this or not... so here goes:
a) I have an iPHONE, a MAC + Tablet.
b) It is important that I keep my mac + tablet - attached with my apple id for other reasons.
c) I also really like the fact I can answer my cellphone via my MAC or TABLET
d) HOWEVER ... most often I leave my MAC + TABLET at home, and take my cellphone with me - when I am away from home - my MAC rings, and my TABLET rings - rather loudly according to "she who must be obeyed"
Why: Because my tablet & laptop are often plugged in charging.-
This is also bad - because when I get a "SPAM CALL" - my iPhone very nicely routes it to voice mail, but ... my Tablet and MAC ring at ear-breaking decible levels.
According to "she who must be obeyed" violence upon my MAC + TABLET may occur if I cann't fix this.
e) BUT - I do not want to LOGOUT of iCLOUD ... for other reasons above -- My question is this: I need some way to mute the ringing, or control the volume when I am not home. Or possibly turn this on - when I am actively using the computer, ie: with when locked - disable this.

**Background**
I'm using an iPhone Xs Max, iOS 13.3.1.
I typically keep celluar turned off, and WiFi on. When I'm at home I automatically connect to my WiFi and can receive calls and texts no problem. When I'm not home, I *can't* receive calls or texts, which is fine by me -- and I'll only turn cellular on if I have to use Uber/Lyft or if I need to make an outbound call.
**Issue**
On very rare occasions when I'm away from home (and therefore connected to neither cell nor WiFi) I'll receive an SMS text. Usually just random stuff like Amazon sending me a locker access code, telling me I have a package to pickup, etc.
On even rarer occasions I'll receive a call in this mode. I can't actually answer it, but it'll ring once briefly and show me a caller ID.
**Question**
Why am I able to receive occasional SMS texts and inbound call attempts, despite cellular being off and not being connected to a WiFi network?

I am in US now and I need to call Ukraine, it would be way too expensive as I need to make a lot of calls (business related).
I have a friend in Ukraine so I though if there was a way to connect my phone from US to his phone in Ukraine and make calls from his phone so it’s cheap.
The requirements are:
- an app that could transmit the call audio, from my phone to his phone to the final destination phone, back and forth.
- less expensive than cellular service between US and Ukraine (but willing to pay in setup time, service or for an app if it will work)
Is there some way to do that with both of us using iOS and iPhones?
