I am hosting an event where I would like to have all participants receive a secret key in the form of a SHA-hashed secret, converted to a QR code. This would represent their ticket to enter the event. I would then like to be able to use a large list of these secrets to verify the participant's ticket (QR code) and automatically mark that participant as present, to make sure no tickets are used multiple times. Is there a way to use QR codes to verify if a certain value is in my list of keys, and then check off that particular key? Or is there another way I could use such a QR-based ticket system to verify a participant's ticket? Would I somehow need to write my own app to do that, or are there already existing systems I could use for this? If I am posting this in the wrong place, please let me know where I should post it instead. I couldn't think of any better place than here.

If I click 'Always' it never remembers. Anytime we click the button to scan, it always asks. How do I override this, or just force it to use the default app without prompting me?

I could save the image, switch to a barcode app, open and scan the image there, and probably end up relaunching the browser to see the result, but I'd *prefer* to long hold the image and launch the scanning app directly (with no save step required). Is there an open source extension (Android app, Firefox add-on, Firefox app) that can achieve this? I've tried looking on the Firefox add-ons and apps marketplaces with no luck. Example images: * f-droid.org (rendered image, imperfect QR code) * cryptojunky.com (photo, imperfect QR code) * wikimedia.org (rendered Aztec code)

I have a third party app for a production system. This is now a legacy application that may not be modified. There is a text field in this third party app. I have barcodes that translates into valid inputs for this text field. I would like to be running this third party app, but somehow be able to use an android device to zap a barcode, translate it into text, and stick it into that text field. I imagine the following: - User opens third party app - User places focus on text field - User presses button to cause barcode to be scanned - Barcode is translated and placed in the text field that has the focus Is this feasible with an android phone or tablet? I am scared that we may have to ditch our legacy app and develop fresh.

Once in a while I see a description of a program that is to be installed via Android market. It is often accompanied by a two-dimensional barcode looking like a QR code that I guess somehow contains a link to the right Market page and the process of using it should be very easy. I've searched and the closest thing I found is this question about reading QR Codes which makes me think it shouldn't be that hard and so I can't see whether that question is about the same usecase I'm asking about. How exactly to make use of such barcodes? What's the way to proceed from the QR code on a web page to Market page?
