I usually read my books using an application called Mantano on Android. They have a cloud based sync mechanism that syncs annotations across various mobile devices.
My problem is I want to keep all my books in Dropbox (or maybe Calibre) and want to keep all the annotations, bookmarks in one place (preferably within the book itself) so that if in future I want to change the reading software on any platform, I have the annotations right there.
Is there any solution for this? I mainly read epub and pdf books. A single reader is the best option but if not possible I can use two readers (one for pdf and another for epub). I want to stay away from dedicated readers like kindle, nook etc.

I tried installing other epub readers but none of them can locate the specific epub I want to get. Does anyone know where epub files are stored on android?

This is a simple question, but in 2 parts:
1. I want my entire ePUB library stored *locally* on my Android device, so I can use Google Play Books to read them without the need of being connected to my cloud library or any other "online" storage.
2. Is it possible to configure Google Play Book to save/read the books library in the Android's external SD Card, *without* the need of storing them in the internal memory?
If you know the answer, or any tips about how to configure this scenario, it will be very appreciated.

Download epubs in Android
So I am not sure why this is but if I upload my own books to the Play Store they do not display download links. Is there a way maybe using an app to get the books off of the Play Store? So here is the picture of options I see, and the book is not free and not in my purchase history either. [

I have Aldiko Premium ebook reader application and it's a nice app for reading epub ebooks.
I can't set it to be the default application for reading epub ebooks stored as files on my micro SD card.
Every time I open a epub from File Commander, I am asked which app to choose to open the epub. I also have Moon Reader, so that's in the list as well as Google Book and an option to Install UB Reader.
When I go into settings for the Aldiko app, there is no button to Set Defaults.
So how can I not be prompted to choose the app each time I open and epub.

Safari to Go cuts off the bottom of the pages (i.e. cannot read full content). That's why I want to convert it to ePub instead. If not, is there any other way to read *Safari to Go* content?

Preferably the reader should handle PDFs directly, but if there is no PDF solution I might also start converting the documents (maybe with Calibre ) for an epub reader.
I tried Adobe Reader, ThinkFree Office and Aldiko, all of which have acceptable performance loading the PDFs, but aside from cumbersome zooming they also lack the ability to copy or adding notes.

I'm seeking a method to re-format epubs to be more readable on an Android phone (specifically the SGS5).
Epubs are awesome, however there are some issues I've come across with a huge majority of them: they weren't meant to be read on a phone. This leads to, for instance, the contents of a single page being compressed into a single, massive paragraph with annotations at the end of the paragraph. A single one of these paragraphs takes up about 2.5 "pages" in the reader I use. As you can imagine, this makes it difficult to read. I would like a method to ameliorate this issue.
I have seen a few methods for reformatting epubs, but they all require ready access to a PC, which I do not have, or manually editing the config files themselves, which is a more time-consuming endeavor than I care to undertake. So I need a quick method of reformatting epubs for readability on the Galaxy S5. I am also open to suggestions for an epub reader that might fix them for me.

Recently I received via email an
.epub
file (eBook). When I try to download it I get an error message that says "Aucune application ne peux afficher la pièce jointe" (no application can show the attached file).
There was a short time I don't read on my Android phone, so when I have the first error message I have uninstalled and reinstalled the [Aldiko](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aldiko.android) app.
But my phone still tells me with "Aucune application ne peux afficher la pièce jointe" (no application can show the attached file).
Has anyone had the same problem? Does anyone have a resolution?

Reading fixed-layout ePubs
I'm looking for a way to read fixed-layout ePubs; nothing I've found supports this format. Aldiko supports epub, but surely not a fixed-layout epub. Is there a possibility here to have the same support here that we have on iOS?
