The [webpage](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.handcent.app.nextsms&hl=en_US&gl=US) for the app comes up blank now:
To my knowledge, 10,000s of people have been using this app for many years.
**Did something just change?**
Anybody have more information about this sudden change/situation??

I want to know the negatives of using them, apart from me having to install an additional app to do something that the phone can already do by default. I'm looking to using one of the two because of the built in support for backing up SMS and MMS, something that will come in very handy especially since I text often.

If I have Android can I respond to group messages from iPhone users?
I have Android phone and use Handcent SMS. I have gotten group texts from iPhone users who use iMessage and I can see what everyone is saying, but when I try to respond I only get a loading circle that just keeps spinning and it ends up saving as a draft and doesn't send. Is there a way to fix this?

Reset ringtone picker preferences
My Samsung Galaxy S2 on Gingerbread was set to use Handcent as the default ringtone picker, and I accidentally changed this back to the built-in ringtone picker. How do I get it to use Handcent again? I went to Handcent, cleared the checkbox and marked it back again, but it didn't help.

Sent text (SMS) messages sometimes show up under wrong contact's conversation

I'm on a Nexus One with Android 2.3.7 (CyanogenMod-7.2.0-passion), and recently I've noticed some sent messages go into the wrong contact's conversation: I send a message to person ABC, the person does receive it correctly, but when I check later the app shows it as sent to a different person XYZ. This really messes up the conversation and gets confusing quickly.
This has happened thrice so far, and there doesn't seem to be any pattern to it except both the contacts involved were people I had been messaging recently at those times. Note that the correct contact does receive the message, it's only on the display of the Sent message that this bug happens.
I'm using Handcent app, but the same display issue occurs in the default Messaging app. In both cases, the message details that comes up after a long press on the message shows the correct number. But somehow, it is still shown under the wrong contact. I've also tried restarting the phone, doesn't help.
Edit: I checked them all, and there does seem to be a pattern here - in each case, if a message ("msg1") sent to A is wrongly displayed under B, it turns out that B was the person I sent the next SMS after "msg1". That is, I send "msg1" to A, then after some time (varies from a few hours to a few days) I send a different message ("msg2") to B, "msg1" and "msg2" both end up under contact B one after the other

Now I've had to uninstall Handcent due to space issues (old Nexus One, very low memory for apps), and this is the only feature I miss in the stock messaging app. Is there a way I can enable this feature in the stock Messaging, or is there some small app that does this in a natural way without interfering with other functionality?

I have been having this issue for a long time on my rooted Droid 3 using the ROM it came with and this happens daily with relevant logs being left or any clear trigger.
Basically what happens, and it tends to happen after the phone has been on for a few hours, I will send a message, usually with Handcent SMS (though I've experimented and tried other apps including the stock SMS, still happens) and occassionally a text will get stuck.
Now one of two things generally will happen. Either it'll sit "sending" for about 5 minutes before finally failing. This acts like a text bottle neck, because if, say, I have a multi-page text being sent, the other queued messages will send instantly when the initial text fails.
The other thing is that the text message will just sit sending indefinitely until I notice it hasn't sent and I delete it manually. If I resend it, sometimes those subsequent attempts will also hang.
And once this starts happening, it will continue to happen until I restart my phone, resulting in my restarting my phone several times a day.
An interesting observation that could help diagnose is the issue is once when I observed this happening, I open up a SQLite debug app and when I try to open up the mmssms.db file, it cannot read the file, which makes me think, perhaps the file is locked which is why the SMS process cannot commit the change to the database. Just an idea; don't know if that's at all related.
**Edit:** This does seem to happen more often after heavy usage, say playing a game. Could it be that' some sort of SMS-handling daemon gets killed, perhaps?

Selected notification sound overwritten by default
How do you make sure your selected notification sound (selected by any App) is not overwritten by the default? No matter how I try, and test the sound within the app (Handcent SMS) successfully, the selected sound is overwritten by the Subtle System Ringtone. Thanks!

Is there a way to make Handcent show an SMS only after the screen is unlocked? Right now it shows the whole message in some kind of preview even when the screen is locked. Browsed the options a few times but didn't find a solution.. Is there such an option, or did I just miss it? thank you
