(I was about to ask it here, but since I found the answer I'll share it too) After installing Android on NAND on my HD2, I found that the available system memory is too little for everyday use. It's around 180MB and after a few applications I need to move everything (manually) to SD card. I would like to have more space for system, especially if I have a large (say, 8GB) SD card.

I'm currently running Android on my HD2 using the internal memory. However I'm having terrible issues with the memory filling up and I can't seem to solve it. I considered installing Android directly onto the SD card, but was told by a friend that it would slow down the OS so bad that it would hardly be possible to use. So my question here is quite simply; will there be much performance impact by running Android from an SD card? --- Adding bounty now, due to lack of patience. * I'm looking for an answer derived from personal experience or believable online sources * I won't accept probablies and maybes

My friend running another mod with Ginger 2.3.2 don't have this problem. Is there anything I can do to make it work? Or this is the thing beyond my control?

However, even if I download the ROM it doesn't get installed. It asks me to reboot in bootloader mode, so I suppose it works only with NAND-installed ROMs. Do you know if it's possible to upgrade MIUI to 1.8.5 when running from SD card possibly without erasing all data on the phone? It took me some time to customize desktop.

Unlocking HTC HD2 and installing Android
I have HTC HD with Windows Mobile 6.5 installed and it is locked with Vodafone (Germany). If I want to install Android on it, do I have to unlock it first? Or it will be automatically unlocked in the process of installing Android?

Just a quick one here, I've recently installed gingerbread to my HD2 using cyanogenmod 7, previous to this I was running froyo through a different mod. My problem is this, many of the market apps that ran fine on my phone before are now listed as incompatible and Google play refuses to let me download them. I know that they are compatible, because like I said, I ran them perfectly well on my froyo mod. Is there a way around this problem?

I run a dual-booted HD2 from SDCard/HaRET with MIUI Android & stock WM6.5. I keep a copy of this file in \Storage Card\My Documents for listening in CorePlayer and survive possible hard resets. However, **everytime**, and I really mean **every** time I boot MIUI this file disappears from the SD card. I'm unable to locate it from Android and when I reboot into Windows I see no traces of it. Why the hell (can I say hell?) does Android delete the file from SD on every single boot? Does it hate M3U files?

I own a dual-booting HTC-HD2 with MIUI on SD card. I already knew, from tutorials, that in order to maximize battery life I should first-boot Android only with 100% of charge. This is currently unclear to me. First, I run Windows Mobile 90% of time, and I use Android occasionally only for some programs that are not available in WM. It happened that I needed to boot Android when on the street, with less than 100% battery. However, I recently noticed that my battery is descharging really fast, for example today from 7:30am to 10am it ran from 100% to 68%, and I really wonder if it could have lasted till 8pm (when I get back home). Is it because Android should **always** be booted with 100% of battery, or because I run 24/7 Skype and Windows Live Messenger in HSDPA from Windows Mobile? Thanks
