Missing Plug-in error while placing dashboard web clip widget on the desktop

Hi before updating my macOS to 10.13.6 I was able to use the next command: > defaults write com.apple.dashboard devmode YES to **drag my safari web clip widgets from Dashboard to my desktop**, but after I updated the OS version to High Sierra I face the error after a widget is placed on the desktop doesn't appear and I see the **error** right in the center of the **empty widget** which had been placed on the desktop: > Missing Plug-in despite the dashboard widgets such as Clock and Calendar display on the desktop perfectly. I googled about it but found nothing and can't guess what's wrong. But I found that this feature of placing widgets from Dashboard to desktop works well with the same OS version which I use (High Sierra, 10.13.6.). I guess something wrong with my OS / Safari. I can't update my OS right now so I would be appreciated for advice about how to fix this without updating my OS to the latest. Safari version: 13.0.3 (no updates available in AppStore for my OS version. What I tried which did not help: write com.apple.dashboard devmode NO write com.apple.dashboard devmode YES killall Dock reboot One of the web clips in the Dashboard is very important for me so I'd like to see it on my desktop again. Thanks for your help!

I recently tried modifying my Lock Screen by putting a clock widget on it. I didn’t like it so then deleted it. However now my wallpaper is zoomed out so shows black bars on the top and bottom! I’ve attached a screenshot displaying this. If I change to a different wallpaper the problem is solved, however I like my current wallpaper, especially because it goes dark when dark mode is switched on. Unfortunately it seems to be an image which is not able to be selected in the new iOS so I can’t find it to set it again on a different home screen. Since this problem arose I updated my iOS again to iOS 16.4 but it didn’t solve the problem enter image description here

I don't mind having it in the regular Clock, but I think it's redundant to also have it in the World Clock. **Is there any way to remove or hide the seconds hand from the World Clock widget?** I am considering installing one of the third party widgets from Mac App Store, such as "Hour - World Clock" or "World Clock Widgets". But I wanted to check if it's possible on the standard widget provided by Apple.

I'm not in some old-timey newsroom over here!

Is there a widget for Mac OS X dashboard that has bigger sticky notes?
Is there a widget for Mac OS X dashboard to write down notes? N.B. What I use now are yellow small sticky notes (I'm using 8 on several spots on the scren). I really love them, but sometimes it would be useful to enlarge them and make them bigger rather than put several of them into one.

Also Apple's "dashboard widget" directory hasn't been updated in 10+ years. So that's useless. I'm looking for a simple little widget that will give me current conditions and a 7+ day forecast. Nothing complicated. But it is really useful and it's a bummer not having it.

Did Apple remove Dashboard on OS Catalina? If not, where can I find it? Thanks a lot! Edit: Seems like dashboard is removed from OS Catalina (thanks to the comment linking to other similar questions!), **Is there any way to put dashboard widgets on desktop like it's shown in this video ?** UPDATE: **Is there a way to get the Converter Tool somehow?** (the widget that can convert currency, length, pressure, weight all in one!) Recommendation of similar Apps is welcomed too!

I can still use the Dictionary application, just not the widget. I tried removing and adding back the widget.

Transfer OS X Dashboard Widgets Between Computers
Can anyone tell me an easy way to transfer my dashboard widgets from one OS X computer to another? If there was a way to keep their positioning/settings too that would be great.

I keep a widget open on my desktop on my secondary monitor. Went away on vacation. No external monitor. The widget was "trapped" offscreen and active. I tried looking in the preferences file for that widget but only the preferences for the widget were stored, not any meta-preferences ABOUT the widget, in this case its X and Y coordinates on the screen. I was hoping the pref file would have that information and I could just reset to 0,0. It seems like it must be stored somewhere as it keeps its position every time I boot. I just don't know where it is or where to look. Does anyone know where this information may be stored?

I love the idea of the Dashboard, but there's one thing that pretty much kills it for me. When I activate Dashboard for a first time or after some extended period of time it takes it 3-15 seconds to update and actually show me things like time, calendar etc. I have a MacBook Pro and this is happening with default widgets (clock, calendar, calculator and weather). The entire idea of a dashboard that it's always one click away and the information should be available immediately. So, does anyone know how to make OS X to update Dashboard widgets immediately or maybe somehow prefetch the data once every 15 min or so? Or does anyone else see this problem at all?
