Are there voices in different languages installed in Mac OS X? E.g. spanish, french or slovak? (latest iPod Nano built-in voiceover has beautiful slovak voice, I'd like to try it on Mac OS X too)

I use Apple Mail daily, and up until recently I could have images inside my mail by referencing an external source. However the external source has since become unavailable, so ideally I would like to embed the images into my mail signatures. I am pretty good with creating the signature in HTML and create the webarchive for it, however have no idea where to begin as far as embedding the images are concerned. Has anyone actually done this, or know of a very good resource that I can use to figure it out?

I'm currently using an Imac 2009 running (Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.6) and I wish to switch from my Windows 7 to my Mac OS and make that the default OS. Using the option key does not work. Bootcamp control panel can't find it either. It seems I'm unable to get back into Mac and this didn't seem to be an issues a year or ago? enter image description here It appears that my Mac HD still exists here, and I still have the install disk and often back up my files using time machine. enter image description here What would be the best solution for this, is there away to get back into my Mac or will I have to reinstall and back up from time machine (Unfortunately I know longer have the Windows 7 install disc) thank you in advanced. NB I did look at the below link but wasn't sure if it was relevant to my issue as I'm essentially locked out of my Mac OS. https://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/310109/boot-camp-control-panel-macos-partition-doesnt-show-up/418573

I have a CD that when the items are copied to the desktop (OS 10.6) the items are marked as read only. The CD is UDF formatted and I have read the following on another site: > The Mac simply doesn't understand the UDF format which is widely used > by many Windows and Linux computers, along with various consumer DVD > burners, video cameras and other devices. OS X gets confused when > reading files, thinking they have read-only privileges or locked files > or different owners, depending on what software was used to write the > disc. Other systems don't suffer from this problem because they fully > implement the 13-year-old UDF standard, but OS X doesn't. Is there any way to get copied items to inherit permission of the folder that they are being copied to? I don't want to have to modify permissions everytime files are copied.

Is there a Quick Look plug-in that works with ZIP files, and that lists all the files contained in the archive? It is also fine if it lists at least some of the files.

But this crappy problem is not letting me install it. As you see in the title, it's stuck on the Apple logo. I've tried changing the date (as I read it would install because of certificate stuff) I'm a newbie at this type of stuff and I just want to install it for nostalgia purposes. (Also I'm using a Macbook Pro Mid-2010 15-inch.)

Is there a way to set a site-specific user-agent for Safari? A website for school says it needs Firefox 3.x, but I have found that Safari 5 works fine. The problem is that every time I tried to log in, it warned me that my browser may not work. I set the default user agent to Firefox 3.6, and it worked fine. Now, big sites like Google and Pandora won't allow me to use certain services. (In Gmail, it just goes back to HTML. In Pandora, it blocks the whole site.) I don't want to use a different browser just for one website, and use another for everything else. I also don't want to manually change the user-agent every time I try to go to another page. Is there a way to do it automatically?

That is not the png itself, but the icon of a png file. I want the png to be the icon. Am I missing something? (If it is important, "Show Icon Preview" is turned on in Finder view options. This folder was read-only for everyone but after seeing https://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/9623/problems-changing-drive-icon I changed it to Read Write for everyone)

I am aware of the various ways to do that with a mouse: - Click-and-hold on the title bar of window and drag to edge - F8 to show all Spaces and drag to desired location - Click-and-hold on the title bar, and use Ctrl+# or Ctrl+Scroll Arrow But have not been able to find a keyboard-only method. I use Linux for one of my primary workstations which has this ability and I would LOVE to use it with OSX as well.

Does anyone know where I can download a **dedicated PPC** application to try? I would like to find one to attempt to run in my install of OS X 10.6.8 Snow Leopard so it will either prompt me to install Rosetta, or open and thus confirm that Rosetta's already installed and fully functional, which I believe it is not. For example, within System Profiler under Software -> Applications, "Rosetta" is nowhere to be found. The ultimate goal here for me is to get Rosetta fully installed. (And no, unfortunately I don't have the original install DVD.) So any comments helping me in that direction would be greatly appreciated!

I recently tried to sign in to my Mac Pro 1,1 that is running 10.6.8 with the correct password but the computer would not recognize the password as valid. After many failed password attempts and reading about certain key combinations to reset PRAM etc. I believe I inadvertently disabled the keyboard and mouse because neither are responsive at the login screen or the computer locked me out (which I didn't think was possible). The keyboard and mouse I am using are wired apple products by the way. Here are the things i have tried so far:
**Option-Command-P-R = not successful never heard a chime twice
Option key 5 times = no effect
use another keyboard = no difference
use another mouse = no difference
use another USB port = no difference
replace PRAM coin cell battery = no difference
** I was able to remove the drive and change the password using terminal on another Mac Pro, so the problem is not hard drive specific. No matter what I do, I cant get a response from the keyboard or mouse on the computer in question.

I have a MacBook Pro with Snow Leopard and a Time Capsule. In the last few days every backup took over 100GB of data. I don't know if there is some issue with permissions or something similar, but to be sure I removed all the old backups and reformatted the Time Capsule disk. I've also run filesystem checks and permission checks on my MBP disk using the installation disk. Then I've restarted backup from scratch, the first backup took 160GB and for a few days following backups has worked fine (with a decent quantity of data for each run). Now after some days I started my MBP and the backup is still in progress, when it was started it says that it needs to backup about 40GB of data (which obviously is not true) and while running the limit is increasing constantly, currently is at 95GB and it continue to grow. I suspect that there could be some hardware issue with Time Capsule, but not sure. Any hint to solve this issue?

Any of you know what code I need to modify to get the reflections and stuff with the scurve.png and indicator.png working? I currently see those image files mentioned above but can't seem to find the file that commands the location that places it. But like there's a file called widgets.wdgt inside the dock folder that has css and js file that tells the app where to place things, but I know that's not related to the dock. Thanks
