Any of you know what code I need to modify to get the reflections and stuff with the scurve.png and indicator.png working? I currently see those image files mentioned above but can't seem to find the file that commands the location that places it. But like there's a file called widgets.wdgt inside the dock folder that has css and js file that tells the app where to place things, but I know that's not related to the dock. Thanks

I am trying to transfer files from an ancient Mac (OS 10.5.8) that has not been upgraded for years to a new (Ventura 13.3.1) machine and find that scp and rsync don't work. The old Mac is visible in my home network, and yesterday I was still able to transfer files with scp -r -oHostKeyAlgorithms=+ssh-rsa myuser@oldmac.local:Desktop/transfer . Today this didn't work anymore after trying unsuccessfully to rsync files from the new machine to the old one. rsync always hangs with no error messages (in spite of using -v), and scp now also simply hangs. What's going on, and how can I fix it and at least transfer files between the machines?

But now that I want to look at those old files under OSX 11, I cannot even figure out under what OS they were made. Most are probably Microsoft For Mac files. Is there a way, like a site where to send a file, or is it hopeless? **Belated Post Scriptum:** I am barely, and less and less, conversant with Mac, no more than you are likely to be with your car, even tough I have used it since the Mac 256. I am also pushing 87 and puttin some order in my hard drive and here is a sample of the kind of document I am curious about: enter image description here I apologize for not being able to be more precise.

Now I want to change it back to the system version of Python, but I can't find a command to do so in the documentation. I know all the MacPorts command did was to change a bunch of links to point at the MP version instead of the system version. Unfortunately I don't know what all the affected files are. Does anyone know the command to reverse the setting or know the list of affected links that I would have to change?

Can anyone recommend a (free/freeware) tool to do this? I'm using 10.5 PPC so that does limit some of my options. Command line or GUI is fine. --- Ok, in Preview it seems I can delete pages by hitting ⌘⌫ on the thumbnails, but it will then not give me the option to save. I can then try printing the altered document to PDF, but I am leery of this because I don't want to loose any metadata (I have to double-check all the files to see how much metadata there is if I decide on this course). --- Just tried Acrobat at work, that doesn't work. The files are mod-protected by a password.

Perhaps you may be thinking that I'm asking why one *should* install Tigerbrew on their older PowerPC/Intel mac machine running Tiger or Leopard operating systems. But I'm actually wondering if there's any reason to install it onto a modern Intel mac machine. I'm running a Macbook Pro 2012 with El Capitan 10.11.6, and for some reason which I do not understand, when I type the command man brew in Terminal.app, I find the following:
Tigerbrew is the easiest and most flexible way to install the UNIX
tools Apple didn't include with OS X.
Is there any reason why I would have Tigerbrew and not regular Homebrew? Did I download this in error?
I'm more inclined to think that I was just curious and had no reason, rather than something less likely, like I was hacked...somehow?

I have an old Power Mac running Tiger (Mac OS X 10.4.11). It is a Dual 2.3 GHz Power-PC G5 with 8 GB RAM. I have it running Tiger since that is the last OS that supports Classic (OS 9) (via Rosetta) and the kids had many Classic programs and games that they like. As far as I know, Leopard (Mac OS X 10.5) is the last OS that can be run on this machine. As it has 2 internal HD slots, I installed a 2 TB SSD in the empty one in order to install Leopard on it. The SSD is partitioned into 2 discs, 1 TB each, and formatted according to the Apple Partition Map (not GUID). When trying to install Leopard OS from an original DVD, and choosing one of the SSD drives, the installation starts and stalls after a few seconds. The whole machine freezes, and I have to do a hard reset. I also have an original Mac OS X 10.5.6 disc (© Apple 2009) and when I try to install from it, I get a window saying "This Operating System cannot be installed in this Mac" (!!!). I then created a bootable USB flash memory with the iso image of Mac OS X 10.5.6 downloaded from the Internet. My Mac does not see it, even if I boot while pressing the Option key. So I have not been able to install Leopard on a machine which is supposed to be able to run Leopard. Any help will be appreciated.

I've run Disk Utility on both and repaired all the permissions, but I still get this error. What is the deal? Any ideas? I'm willing to erase the startup volume, but I have to find a Leopard disk somewhere!

Apologies in advance if any of the details seem incorrect, I am helping my friends dad and am not a mac user myself. Background to problem: His System: Mac OS X v10.5.8 Original Browser: Safari v5 Recently he has been unable to access some websites and was informed by one company that he needed to update his browser. He downloaded Safari v7.0.4 to find that it could not be used with leopard. to quote >The main problem is, that in the process of downloading v7, v5 was deleted & now I have no access to any website. > >I have dumped v7 to 'trash' but still cannot retrieve v5. I checked the compatibility and it looks like he needs to go back to Safari 5.0.6 (I'll worry about OS update later) Whats are my options to get Safari 5 working again on his machine? Also is there any way for me to remote to his machine without him having a browser? Thanks Joe

I have two working instalments of Catalina and I have a an old Power book G4 12 inch that I need to install a new OS on. As far as I can understand the latest OS I can install is Leopard (10.5) and I had one old dmg that I used many years ago to install from and I have also downloaded from different repositories online that has old OS versions. I've tried to install from several different USB keys but the computer fails to recognise it as a start up option, not when booting holding down alt key and selecting it as a startup option (with it doesn't see it as) My last try to do it with was to do it as a target mode from my one of my Catalina machines where I have a firewire card but will that at all be possible. Am I wrong in the assumption in that Catalina can only do guid formats and will it even recognise the Leopard OS since its 32 and not a 64 OS. Does anyone know of anyway I can do this or a smart workaround for this. Thank you in advance. Karl

Roughly 1 folder per second, whatever the folder and whatever its content. Closing them with cmd-alt-w is almost instantaneous though. When I compare that to say Mac OS X Leopard, the same quantity of folders open (and close) almost instantaneously. I searched the web and found nothing regarding this matter. Any ideas on how to have on macOS Catalina a speed similar to the one of Mac OS X Leopard?

The Mac mini's BT card is built-in Apple and the PB's BT card is 3Com's PCMCIA card and its drivers are [http://www.traud.de/bluetooth](http://www.traud.de/bluetooth) Because their Airport cards have limited range as they've got only one antenna, I've tried to connect to Internet over my Android 7 phone's 4.5G and Bluetooth and Bluetooth-Tethering. On Mac mini G4 I've managed to easily connect to the Internet using Bluetooth Network method but on PowerBook, I get **The Bluetooth network is unavailable** error ![Bluetooth Network Error](https://i.ibb.co/GHK9tgR/Picture-8.png) On the Console, a new line appears (shortened and simplified) [Req OpCode 1104 from: kernel_task (0) ... timeout: 10000] Bluetooth warning: An HCI Req timeout occured. When I try to send a file from Powerbook to Android 7 phone, using the send file option at the Bluetooh icon, I can easily send files. How to do a Bluetooth Network connection over this Android 7 phone?
