Google Currents vs Google Reader
They appear to perform the same functionality... only difference I see is that Currents layout is more like a magazine. And I can import my Reader subscriptions to Currents. What's the difference between the two? Is there any reason to use one over the other? Does Currents replace Reader?

I've been searching and hoping to find an app for Android that syncs up with Google Reader and has one key feature. The feature I'm looking for is the ability to fetch the entire news article that you're reading. Certain websites (CBC News in Canada for example) allow you to "read more", however this opens a new browser instance to view the rest of the article. I'm looking for the ability to have that content scraped inside the application for reading. Reeder for iPad has this functionality. Does anyone know of an app for Android that does the same?

Is there a way for me to choose an installed audio player to use in place of the one used by the Google Reader app as the default player for the app? Ideally I'd like the app to pop up an intent that asks me for the audio player to use, like many apps pass off responsibility for a well defined purpose. enter image description here The Google Reader app is here .

How can I use the arrow keys in my keyboard to scroll down on a page in the Google Reader app? I can scroll down only via the tactile screen, which is not easy to be done when wearing gloves in winter time.

When I add the Google Reader widget (official app), after some time the items in the widget start blinking (not the widget itself, just the entries in the widget). Same issue on both devices. I have not been able to identify a cause, let alone find a solution. Any advices?

> **Possible Duplicate:** > [How can I access my Google Reader entries offline?](https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/18065/how-can-i-access-my-google-reader-entries-offline) I commute via subway and I like to read my RSS feeds on the train, but I don't have any network connectivity at that point and I find that most of them aren't sync'd. I'm using the official Google Reader app on ICS on a Galaxy Nexus and I have the synchronize feeds option enabled. Is there a way to have it sync much more aggressively? Any time I'm on Wi-Fi I'd like it to pull down absolutely everything that is unread in Google Reader. Ideally I'd also like it to follow any links out of the feeds to webpages and sync those as well. Is there a way of getting Google Reader to do this? Or is there an alternative to the Google Reader app that will do it?

Is there a reason Google Reader drains this much battery?
It doesn't strike me as normal that Google Reader should drain more battery than even my screen. Is this a known bug, or is it a settings issue? I'm using 4.1.1 ![Phone Print Screen][1] [1]: https://i.sstatic.net/ppFpS.jpg

How can I access my Google Reader entries offline?
I am without a mobile internet plan on my smartphone, hence I am looking for a way to, whenever I'm on wifi, download my Google Reader entries for me to read offline on the road. I don't mind installing a third-party app, even if it costs a few bucks.

How to force google reader app to download mp3s
When I subscribe to podcast RSS feeds with the google reader app then click the link to the mp3 Google reader starts streaming it with the selected media player rather than downloading the mp3 file to the sdcard like the webbrowser does. Is there anyway to force it to download the actual mp3 file?

I've noticed that for the last couple of days any time I open or refresh the Google Reader app (the official one from Google) it marks the last 200+ items that are in my feed as Unread (which it then syncs out to my account! So viewing them online shows the same unread count), and seemingly refuses to sync out which articles I have read (though it does seem to sync starred articles correctly.) I've made sure that syncing is turned on, but this doesn't seem to affect it one way or another. Any idea's for how to fix this behavior? Anyone else seeing it too? Beyond that, I'd be open to suggestions for an alternate reader app. My wishlist is for one that allows me to easily star an article from the list, only shows me unread articles unless otherwise requested (sorry, Pulse) and preferably has a widget that notifies me when there are unread items.
