Non-metal GarageBand crashing on a Mac Sequoia (How to solve the issue!)

When I first installed the last non-metal version of the GarageBand on my then Sonoma-patched (OCLP) MacBook 2010 13', I've encountered a crash, and thought that it had something to do with Metal (albeit this is counter-intuitive) so I just gave up trying. But since I've installed Sequoia, I was curious to see if any of the non-metal versions would work on this version. I downloaded the one that weighs the least and tried it out (Pages). To my surprise it worked. So I downloaded GarageBand again. And it was crashing again. But since I was now aware that this is not a GPU or CPU related issue, I did some troubleshooting. Turns out the problem is within the singing. If you've downloaded that version from archive.org as I did, you might experience the same problem. I found a quick fix that worked for me, so I've decided to share it.
You'll probably have something like this in your crash report
Exception Type: EXC_CRASH (SIGKILL (Code Signature Invalid))
Exception Codes: 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000
Termination Reason: CODESIGNING 1 Taskgated Invalid Signature
Triggered by Thread: 0
I'll post the solution in the answer here.

Garage Band live transposing MIDI input

I have a MIDI instrument whose input I'd like to transpose live (ie. so the sound synthesized for it is transposed up a third from the actual input, for example).
I tried adding an AU Pitch Shift effect plugin to the track. This does allow me to do the transposition. But, since this effect works on the output audio signal and not the MIDI input (and does so in software) it is noticeably laggy (to the point where playing is annoying).
I did some investigation and found this article: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2426268 . It's old (2010), but it discusses using MIDI Patchbay to create a fake virtual MIDI input with the transposition. The problem the OP faced there was that Garage Band still picked up the initial untransposed MIDI input (because it listens to all MIDI inputs for the current track; this seems to still be the case as I confirmed this by trying two MIDI instruments simultaneously). Since this question is older, do recent versions of Garage Band allow you to filter out certain MIDI tracks (making this approach possible)?
Ideally, I'd like to do the transpose live from within Garage Band. I also found in the editor (under score) the "Transpose" option (which for some reason is disabled under "Piano Roll"). However, this doesn't seem to have an effect on the live input.
tl;dr Is there a way to live transpose MIDI input that you are synthesizing/monitoring through Garage Band?

Yesterday I was recording in my home studio and I found that, after having recorded several times my digital piano in GarageBand with the track in mute while using it transposed (to be able to hear the right thing when playing along with the other tracks) through midi cable connected to a Presonus USB96, that my older keyboard, connected directly to my Mac, had transpose working live perfectly fine, not requiring a muted track while recording.
The USB96 doesn’t have a USB input. So I’m wondering if I should connect the digital piano also directly to the computer through USB. There’s no latency for either. I don’t see any reason to assume I should midi cables. Does anyone have experience with that?

I have been looking at how to connect multiple Mics to my Mac. So far I have followed tutorials on YouTube which guide me towards creating an aggregated device on the Audio MIDI utility. I do this and have the set up as follows:
I have found that when I open GarageBand I get all the channels I would expect but non of the mics seem to be picking up sound.
Oddly, when I use two mics this seems to work perfectly fine and I am able to record on GarageBand with 2 inputs easily.
Does anyone know if I am doing something wrong or if the Mac is just unable to power three mic inputs?

With my iPhone 11, iOS 17.5.1, would it be possible to pass the output of GarageBand off as my input mic device? The purpose is for calls.
A similar question was posted here 4 years ago (https://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/388937) , yet it doesn’t follow my need as I would like to use only my iPhone, or a laptop to set something up, but nothing that is needed always or it would be pointless.
I understand that it might not be possible to split/redirect the input and output like this, however, my bluetooth earbuds (I don't have to use the earbuds when calling) use the default device built-in. Knowledge of/method to use any external app or technology to change the way the iPhone processes the audio would be much appreciated. I found an app called iEavesdrop by Dennis Nederlof (https://apps.apple.com/app/id541418268) , which almost achieves my purpose, but I cannot choose the GarageBand output as the input. Thank you.

Only weeks after getting it, I can no longer use GarageBand on my brand new MBP 14" M1 Pro (macOS 12.1) because any attempt to create a new project immediately results in the error "Maximum Number of Software Instruments - You have added the maximum number of software instruments tracks (1000)". I also get this error when attempting to create a new track in any existing project. (Obviously I have nowhere near 1000 tracks in any of these projects). I also sporadically get the message on launch: "A plugin has reported a problem. Please quit and restart GarageBand". These two issues began at the same time.
After doing some of my own research I tried restarting Core Audio via
sudo killall coreaudiod
and sudo launchctl start com.apple.audio.coreaudiod
and restarting, but this has made no difference. I do not have any external audio interfaces or third-party plugins.
Can anyone help me?

I want to uninstall iMovie and GarageBand. But each time after I uninstall them, they are automatically reinstalled (without any message and notification). I tried to uninstall them directly (click and hold on the icon, then click on the small "x" button), or uninstall them with some other cleaner software such as App Cleaner & Uninstaller.
Anyone have similar issue like me? Is this possibly caused by the automatic updates setting?

**UPDATE** : Changed the title of the question, since I realized that the current title is a bit misleading.
I have:
- iPhone 14 Pro Max running iOS 17.3
- Garage Band on the iPhone has version 2.3.15
I have on my MacBook an
.m4r
file (which I had created from a WAV file using the online converter www.zamzar.com), which I now want to use as ringtone on the iPhone.
I already copied the file to iCloud Drive, and I can see and play the file on my iPhone.
I found that this guide at fonetool.com supposedly describes the whole process.
Basically, it requires that after having copyed the file to iCloud Drive, I need to use the Garage Band app on the iphone to make it suitable as ringtone file.
The file is in the Downloads
directory of iCloud Drive.
Tapping on the file from the iPhone File Manager allows me to play the sound file, so to this point the .m4r
file on the iPhone looks okay.
Then the instruction say that for using it as ringtone, I should open Garage Band on the iPhone and tap on "TRACKS". However there is no _TRACKS_ to be seen after opening Garage Band. Actually, the starting screen on Garbage Band looks completely different from what has been posted in the fonetool.com guide which I linked above. Instead of seing on top of the sceen, my Garage Band app shows an iCloud Drive
file browser after starting it up.
Inside this browser, I *can* navigate to the Downloads directory, and I see there my .m4r
file, but the is greyed out and can not be selected.
What can I do now to get things done? Perhaps the guide at fonetool.com was written with a different Garage Band version in mind?

I recently upgraded from Venture to Sonoma and now my MIDI keyboard is registering both on key down and key up in Garageband (10.4.9).
A few other observations that seem odd:
- Garageband now says 3 inputs are connected when I connect the keyboard. However, in the audio tab, it only shows one controller. When I disconnect it says 1 is connected (but the settings say nothing is connected)
- the pedal no longer works
- things are working as expected in another DAW (Logic Pro)
- in the Audio Midi Setup screen for the OS, only key ups are registering (not sure what was happening on Ventura)
I have tried resetting the drivers but no luck.
Anyone have any troubleshooting tips/ideas what may be going on?

Last week I had my electric piano plugged into the Mac via the 3.5mm cable and the Mac was receiving the audio stream from that input just fine. (I used the stream to record in GarageBand.)
Now, with the exact same setup, I cannot get any sound to appear in the microphone from my keyboard. The input is set to "External Microphone" with type "Microphone port". I've tried restarting the laptop and the keyboard, I've tried different cables, etc, with no luck.
Any suggestions?
