I have a Pixel 8 Pro with Android 14; for years I have used my Android phones for car navigation. Like many, I like to use my phone to listen to Pandora, Spotify, podcast players etc. While in Driving Mode, there is... or *was* a tray at the bottom of the screen I could click to view all of the available media providers (everything presented with giant buttons to reduce driving distraction), select the one I wanted to use, and select from the selected provider which music channel, podcast, etc. I wanted to listen to. Recently this tray has simply disappeared and for the life of me I can't figure out what happened or how to get it back again. I've searched through system settings and driving mode settings and if there is anything related to this behavior I haven't been able to find it. I also tried clearing the cache of some apps and many system services, but this has not fixed the issue. Wondering if anyone has an idea what is going on and how to restore this UI element to driving mode.

I have an older car with no Android Auto built in. I used the Android Auto feature on my phone screen all the time before it was disabled in Android 12. This forced me to switch to the Assistant Driving Mode screen, which was OK and would auto-launch when I got in my car. This was now also shut down , and apparently I am supposed to use the Google Maps Driving Mode instead. But I don't really understand how I can launch it. Assistant Driving Mode would auto-launch, and it would also have a persistent notification that could be used to open it while connected to the car via bluetooth. This is no longer the case. All of the articles I'm seeing are saying that you need to start navigating in Google Maps to start the driving mode there, but that can't be the only way? I use Driving Mode to make calls and play podcasts, and mostly drive around my town where I have no need for navigation. So is there another way to launch driving mode without starting navigation in Google Maps?

Recently I updated my device from android 9(one UI 1)to android 10(one UI 2) After updating to android 10 it freezes again and again, not the whole phone freeze, only display hangs but background working properly, when i push power button and lock device, and after unlock by power button it works normal, but after sometime it freezes again. I repeat this task again for unfreezing. I checked device logs for hangs reason, where I found EGLNativeWindowType 0x79466cd890 disconnect failed It looks like openGL problem, is some driver corrupt or missing in new update, Samsung block downgrade from bootloader,So I have no choice, Note:*I updated with latest ota update, there is no new update from Samsung, *Device was working well with android 9 one ui1(means there is no hardware fault) * Model: samsung sma750f

I have been using google maps for a while now as my driving guidance/maps app. It does have one slight inconvenient, while you are driving you'll get all notifications to still crop up space on your screen, and for some apps they might even get in the way of your maps. Is there a way to keep google maps, or any other maps app for that matter, foremost on my screen? If I set the phone in driving mode, can I stop other apps from getting screen space/time all at once or is it in a per app basis?

The application well informs already if you drive too fast. I know there are some GPS devices which can give such alerts. I think TomTom, at least. Testing xavier_fakerat's proposal --- I see now interaction with CamerAlert but have not tested when driven. It took some time for the program to relocate to Baltics from London. But - Start here maps. Start then CamerAlert second time. The app crashes. It alerts all the time about unupdated maps although I just updated them. I will go with Sygic. OS: Android Oreo 8.0 Phone: OnePlus 3T Region: Sweden, Finland, Norway, Baltics Maps: Here We Go Maps, rarely Google Maps (because no easy offline use)

The new Moto G4 and Moto G4 plus made by Lenovo, unlike the other Android Motorola phones, is incapable of texting for you and answering your calls while driving, unlike the predecessors Motorola Turbo 2, Motorola X pure, Moto X etc etc. I've tried finding apks online that will install a different version of the app as what can be found in the Turbo 2 but they never installed successfully. Does anybody have any insight as to how I can get the full features out of the Moto apps that are not found in the G4 but are found in most other iterations of the Motorola phones? These features are why I wanted to get another Motorola phone and I was disappointed to find that this is the only one that does not support it.

Hands-free/Driving Mode: How to change the reading voice's language (and voice: male/female etc...)?
Is there a way to change the language and voice for reading out the information on hands-free mode. Even better, it would be nice if the language and voice for the alarm could be set on a per-alarm feature. Anyone knowing if and how this can be done, please don't hesitate to reply. Thanks.

I was wondering if anyone knew of a handsfree way to manipulate pandora while driving. (On Linux, there is an app available known as PianoBar, which is open source and can interact with Pandora servers without using an official client; this includes BASH integration, which allows you to....) Well, that's neither here nor there, I'm in engineering school and I hardly have time to program any apps. I have a Galaxy S4, and what I really want is a way to manipulate Pandora Radio while driving. (They don't seem to have an disabled accessibility, either >.<) It certainly does not have to be complete, but it should at least let me like and dislike songs without using my hands. I'm really just looking for a way to listen to my music without having to look away from the road. I've tried S-voice, and it can start Pandora, but after that you appear to be on your own.. Thanks for any help! PS: Assume I have no more than an aux jack to use in the car, so the answer can't be "install something"... it's an integrated head unit.

It seems like I read something about how to do this once, but now I can't find it. I thought it was a feature of On{x} , but it doesn't look like the *Galaxy S3* **Driving Mode** is exposed through their API. What I want is for my phone to automatically switch into **Driving Mode** when it detects I am moving faster than a certain speed (doesn't need to be immediate), and then when I am moving below that threshold switch back (again, after about a minute).
