Whenever I take a picture with the front camera on Snapchat on my Xiaomi Mi Max 2, it makes a loud fake camera shutter sound. I have tried putting the phone on mute/do not disturb and having the ringer volume, alarm volume, and media volume off, and it still makes the sound. I have gone into the camera app settings and turned off the camera sounds, which works for my default camera app (I can take pictures on it with no sound) but it still makes the sound on Snapchat. Does anyone know how to disable this sound? I'd be surprised if Snapchat made its own camera shutter sound which isn't mutable, surely it just uses the device's settings and sounds, right?

I have Snapchat 10.23.11 on Huawei and my friend has the same version but on a Samsung device. I have muted the system Camera app and in the system app, there's no shutter sound. In Snapchat, when I'm taking a photo using the back camera without a flashlight, there's a shutter sound but my friend on her Samsung device with the same Snapchat version doesn't have a shutter sound. When I had a Snapchat version from about October 2017, there wasn't a shutter sound. Last few days, I've updated the Snapchat app and all others app and the shutter sound appeared. What's going on? How to remove the shutter sound?

I have the LG Spectrum 2, running Android 4.1.2 (JB) and just did a factory reset in an unsuccessful attempt to fix Snapchat. I have tried using an old version of Snapchat (v2.something) which received less blanks, but still some, as well as the new Beta version which received just as many as the most recent version. I even tried signing up for a new account and deleting the old one - this worked for about two days and then the same problem started again with the new account.

Firstly, apologies if this is the wrong site to ask this question. I didn't have a clue which site, this seemed most realistic. Problem : Snapchat was working fine. I logged out of my account and when I try log back in I get the error: There was a problem connecting to the server. Please try again. I have tried multiple solutions such as clearing the cache snapchat, reinstalling google play services, clearing data on snapchat, rebooting device. None of which work. You might say why not reinstall snapchat? Well my device is on 4.1.2 meaning if I uninstall and go back to the play store to reinstall it, I wont see snapchat there because snapchat has updated further than my phones version. (I don't have the filters on my device because it doesnt support the filters too) I tried contacting snapchat, but alas, no reply. Any suggestions?

In snapchat, if you type into a chat a website URL you can then access snapchat's browser. For personal reasons, I've taken the time to remove my phones browser via rooting so that I can't access the web. However, I really enjoy snapchat and don't want to have the temptation of using the internet at any point via snapchat. I can't find any settings to block it. The only way I can think of blocking websites is via the hosts file, but it only works for individual sites; I want to have no access whatsoever via the snapchat browser. Any suggestions on how to do this?

Why are apps not loading anything after a while of use (Nexus 5 | 16GB)?

Well the title says it. It happens to most apps that need an internet connection. (Instagram, Youtube, Play Store, Whatsapp etc.) The browser works fine though. But for example when I'm looking at my Instagram feed, after a while nothing loads anymore. Like wifi turned off or something. Or on Youtube after watching a few videos If I click on another video it starts not/infinite loading. The solution to this is reopening the app, but this can be annoying as you have to find where you were again. I couldn't find anything on Google and never heard anybody experiencing the same. Is it because of my phone ? My wifi ? (3/4 connection most of time | 60mb/s) I do think other people didn't have this in my house but I'm not sure. Thanks in advance! EDIT: I now have the Nexus 5X (Same simcard) and I got the same problem. EDIT: I noticed reconnecting to the WiFi is a solution as well, but this is still annoying.

How does Snapchat detect screenshots?
I'm wondering how Snapchat detects if a screenshot is taken and how to disable/spoof the method. If using a screen recording (video) app, Snapchat can't detect it.

I barely use Snapchat , less than 10 text snaps per day, only one or two 300KB pictures, and I almost never watch nor send videos. I never use the rightmost activity (branded content). Despite this very limited usage, Snapchat consistently wastes a LOT of battery: Snapchat battery usage Network usage is also way over what it should be. Data usage alone is not high enough to explain the huge battery drain though. Just staying on a conversation screen (zero activity) drains more power than the outlet can provide. You read this correctly: Even with the phone plugged into the wall, if Snapchat is open the battery level decreases and eventually the phone has to shut down, this happened to me yesterday with a Nexus 5. Is there anything I can do to prevent Snapchat from using that much power? - Use a firewall to block useless branded content download? - Remove some permissions? (phone is rooted) I only need conversation with friends, which means I don't mind losing branded content, sponsored stories, etc. I don't care much about my friend's profiles/stories either. Note: That's despite having enabled Settings > Manage > Travel Mode already: Snapchat Travel Mode
