How do I stop Android from auto-enabling "allow unknown sources"?

Every time I restart my Xolo Era 4g, Android 5 Lollipop phone, it auto enables "allow installation of apps from unknown sources" option. I switch it off manually, then in a few seconds, a pop-up for an unknown app to install shows, and on the background, the "unknown sources" button automatically toggles. This keeps on going forever. I haven't rooted my phone and have factory reset it many times. I first installed an antimalware app, and when I run it, it found around 16 malware, of which I deleted 14 but there was no option to delete the last two. Then I installed the notification app. I restarted my phone. After that, the internet automatically started. I immediately switched it off. Then I went to settings and switched off to allow unknown apps installation. Then I opened the menu and slide it a few times and the malware attacked again. Opening the settings disclosed that an unknown app installation is switched on. Many apps are promoted for installation. After pressing cancel around 50 times, I went to the menu again and many new apps were installed. I have repeated this scenario two times once I switched the internet on. But with the internet off, I saw an app installation prompt too. I don't remember with the internet off whether the apps got actually installed or not. Now I opened the notification app and it showed one process having some text similar to _Andriod UI Lollipop 5.0_, it had a Lollipop icon to its left. On clicking on that, it further showed one process. The process was related to the notification app itself and had text "toaster" or maybe "toasted". Now I have factory reset my phone again and have uninstalled all default apps like Flipkart, Snapdeal, Paytm, UC browser, etc. Now if I'll again restart my phone, the virus will start again. Please tell a method to not allow any app to toggle the "unknown sources" options on without rooting the phone.

When you try to install an APK, not from the Play Store, you would need to allow your phone to install from unknown source. I'm looking for a technical definition of "unknown source". - Does it refer to an APK that is not signed by the Play Store's private key? - Does it refer to an APK that is not signed at all? (Is that even allowed?) - Does it refer to an APK that is signed with a default Android test key? It would be especially great if the answer goes into the actual Android code that does this "unknown source" judgement.

I downloaded an apk from this site that it was supposed to be a modified app for a game (Candy Crush Saga). Here you can find the download link . The problem is that not only the app doesn't do what it was claimed to do (i.e. provide you with tricks, unlimited lives, etc) but most importantly it is a malware-virus. So after installing this app, I get pop up windows with ads. First of all I removed the apk and tried to search for the installed app through settings. Surprisingly I couldn't find anything apart from the apps I have installed through PlayStore! Then I installed Clean Master and AVG Antivirus but neither managed to find any problem. I also tried using DEBLOATER (I installed it through wine on my fedora 25 laptop) but this didn't work either. I also connected my phone to my laptop and tried to find and delete the bloatware but I wasn't able to find it. So my question is how can I remove this "app" when it's not visible in the app list? For reference I am running Android 6.0 and my phone is Oukitel k6000pro and my PC runs fedora 25.

Image None of my apps allow "draw over". The AdLock app does not catch them. I have no idea whether it's just an annoyance or dangerous. Short of resetting my phone and having to reload all my apps etc., can someone please help me find and get rid of this annoyance? NEW INFO: I have looked at the suggestions. Thanks. Andrew T. provided an idea but it uses functions that I don't know how to do, notably, the adb shell commands. Is there somewhere I can look to see how these are used, please? CANCEL: For some unknown reason, this problem has gone away. I'm not aware of what I might have done ... it just suddenly stopped a few days ago.

I'm trying to sideload an application, as seen in the picture below. Image I have allowed the installation of applications from unknown applied actions in settings, but I can't seem to press the install button. The cancel button works correctly and installing applications via adb install works correctly. What's the problem? EDIT: For those who have this problem, using ChainFire's [C.F. Lumen](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.chainfire.lumen) will correct it because the app uses hardware compositing, and Android doesn't notice a "layer" on top of the current screen.

So, I never installed this app, it just appeared at some point on my phone. I didn't do anything at first, thought it was something related to android because it has an android icon. The problem is that sometimes, when I would of opened Chrome, it would of opened with a site already on it (something with some kind of clickbait game) and a **ww_easteur001** notification. Sometimes that notification just popped up without anything happening "apparently". I unistalled it a while ago, thought that it was gone, after a few weeks it appeared again. Uninstalled it again, appeared again, etc. Today I looked closely and I saw that it had access to my Phone (calls and numbers), Messages and Storage, and I found out that at some point a message was sent to a number not in my contact list that seemed like pure gibberish. (My luck that I don't have credit atm, so the message didn't go through). I obviously suspected that app. So... Need help. I'm not entirely sure what I should do (I know I should of done something the first time when I saw it, but I was dumb), I'm not sure what it does exactly, but definitely not something good. I cannot find anything online about it / similar experiences... Now, worst case scenario I can just reset the phone and/or buy a new one, since this one is trash anyway, but I'm still confused about what's all this about, and I may or may not be a little bit scared to what it has done this whole time. **EDIT:** *Model number*: Xylo P *Android version*: 7.0 enter image description here enter image description here

In previous versions of Android one could go to Personal > Security and there disable the Unknown sources setting in order to install freely APKs from unknown origins. In Androi Oreo this was changed and this field is no longer in the Settings. I looked everywhere and was unable to find it. So now, when my app tries to install another APK from an unreliable source, I get a Popup saying "Allow Google to regularly check device activity for security problems..." with a Decline and Accept options. My question: imagine that I factory reset my Android Oreo device, is there a setting that I can set or a system property to modify that will prevent this anoying popup to appear? Does someone know how to disable its appereance? PS: Please don't answer "just hit decline". That is not the answer I am looking for, nor a viable option.

I use YMusic to listen to music/audio books, which is an outsider app from xda-developers. When I tried to install an update, I got the message below, as if YouTube is preventing me from installing the app. Here's a Screenshot: enter image description here I wanna mention a couple of things: - This is my personal device, so there's no IT admin - developer mode is enabled on the device - It's not the first time I install apps from unknown sources. Usually I have to authorize them during the installation, and this source is authorized - It's not a rooted device - it's the latest available version of Android, security update May, 1st 2019 EDIT: After a couple of days, that message didn't appear anymore. Maybe the app had something that conflicts with YouTube, and it was updated? I don't know.

I was trying to install a downloaded APK onto my Pixel 3. During the initial install attempt I was presented with a screen that looked approximately like this one (without the added emphasis on the correct 'Install anyway' option): enter image description here I took one quick glance of this screen before concluding "big green button, that must be what I want here!". Which was a substantial error, because the big, green button in fact denies the app install. Oops. And now what's happening is when I go back to the APK and try the install process again, I'm no longer prompted about whether or not I want to 'Install anyway'. Instead it just goes straight to the "App not installed" screen. The one with the gray triangle on it. How do I get the device to forget that I denied installation to this APK, so that I can successfully install it?

I have been recently concerned about a malicious software on my phone, basically - the trojan/virus acts silently in the background, it increases battery drain, gives regular (and system apps) overpowered permissions and installs 'icon' programs that are a link shortcut to a possibly malicious website which I would rather not like to open. The built-in browser is like an infected zone in which I do not go because its filled with ads, fake 'virus' warnings for every site I open. Some of the recent 'icons' that have been downloaded are named 'loopscoop' and a what seems to me - possibly named Japanese or Chinese game, can't really tell by the letters. Here are the images. INFO: **Factory resets did not work, nor did Malwarebytes or any other antivirus detect it. It's a VIVAX FLY 3 phone.**

I am getting a weird error, only in 1 of my phones. I am using Hockeyapp to distribute and test apps and it works fine in every other mobile device. In Oneplus 3 (A3003; Android 8.0.0; OxygenOS version 5.0.6) though, when I try to install an app from Hockeyapp I get the message that I need to enable 'Unknown sources'. enter image description here After I press APP SETTINGS I am taken to the unkown sources screen where Hockeyapp is selected, just like the image below. <img src=" class="img-fluid rounded" style="max-width: 100%; height: auto; margin: 10px 0;" loading="lazy"> If I go back in Hockeyapp and try to install the app again, I still get the same error message. I tried to clean install Hockeyapp, change manually the unknown sources but nothing changes. I repeat that this only happens in this Oneplus device. How can I solve this and install the app that I want from Hockeyapp? **Edit:** I uninstalled Hockeyapp, installed it again and explicitly granted that permission. I still get the same error!

I would like to install whatsapp on my Huawei android tablet but get the message (as others have ) stating ' your device is not compatible'. Searching the internet it seems that you can bypass things and get it installed. However it seems the only way to do it is to all apps from unknown sources. My problem is I am not happy in what you appear to be doing ie withdrawing security and allowing apps from unknown sources.
